This book peaked my interest from beginning to end. For me, it started a little bit slow, but picked up mid book. I like the way the characters interacted in the plot line of the story. Highly recommend checking this went out.

Can these books get any better. I say that each time I finish one, and each time this author smashes it. A phenomenal read, gripping, exciting, thrilling. This book has it all - and some.

Back with the wonderful Drew family in this, The 3rd book in the series. Scarlet Drew is proving she has what it takes to run the family business. However Scarlet isn't loved by everyone and there are people out there who want to see her fail.
As well as a busy criminal life, Scarlet has a new love interest. Things are take a turn when Scarlet finds out who John really is. Is this the end for her?
Fantastic being back with The Drew family. They need to up their game to stay at the top of the game.
Another superb read, once started you don't want to stop. Once you get near the end you don't want it to finish. I could have happily sat reading this book on and on if only it had another 2345 pages. The good news is, i got slightly behind with the series so it's now on to book 4 for me.

Once again the author has written a story which has it all. Intrigue, drama, danger and so much more. With each book in the series we are drawn deeper into the lives of the Drew family. A great addition to the series.

Many thanks to Bookouture and Netgalley for providing a copy.

Another fantastic addition to one of my most favourite series. I have read every single book that Emma writes as soon as I can and have loved each and every one. I absolutely adore the Drew family and love how there is always mentions of other notorious characters entwined in the story, looking forward to the next book!

Oh, Emma what a corker, you've done it again. With the next episode of this series.
I was quickly caught up again in this excellent story of the Drew family's underworld dealings.
This book is full of grit, violence, action, and brutality. The author has bought the characters to life and I've enjoyed watching them develop and grow through the three books. And the twist at the end knocked my socks off wow.
Such a brilliant book. worth 5 stars and more. Emma Tallon just gets better and better like a fine wine.
Thank you, NetGalley for allowing me to read and review this excellent book. xxx

I would be a hypocrite if I were to say that as this is part of a series, you need to read them in order. This is something I rarely do, but I have managed it with this series and I definitely see the advantages of it. Each story is action packed and works well as a standalone, but I have loved revisiting and catching up with the Drew family, especially as the 2nd installment in the series made me quite invested in how Scarlet and Ruby were getting on.

Emma includes all the main themes you’d come to expect from a gangland thriller, including rivalry, loyalty, violence and danger. There is the added complexity within this book not only of rivalry across the different firms, but within the Drew “firm”. These are all handled perfectly, for maximum effect!

Of course, the best thing about these books are being back with the brutal characters that we all know and love. I particularly appreciate the fact that, at the heart of the story, are three strong and brutal women with their own personal battles. These characters are vibrant, entertaining and endearing. I was already invested in them from previous books, but I definitely loved following them on this journey, too!

Once again, Emma Tallon has left me wanting more! I can’t wait for the next installment in this series as I can smell trouble brewing … again! Emma Tallon is a true gangland fiction queen!

Review for 'Her Betrayal' by Emma Tallon.

Read and reviewed via NetGalley for Bookouture publishers and Bookouture anonymous

Publication date 15th February 2022.

This is the third book I have read by this author. It is also the third book in the 'Drew Family' series but can be read as a standalone. The first book I read and the first book in this series is called "Her Revenge" and the second book I read and in this series is called "Her Rival" which I would also recommend.

I was originally drawn to this book by its eye catching and colouful cover and its intriguing synopsis. The synopsis stated "If you love reading Martina Cole and Kimberley Chambers you will be totally gripped by this gritty, gangland crime thriller" . I am a huge fan of Martina's books so am interested to see if it will live up to this statement. I am also a huge fan of Emma and if this is half as good as "Her Revenge" and "Her Rival" it will be an amazing read. I must admit I was also biased due to the publisher being Bookouture. I have yet to read a book published by Bookouture that I haven't enjoyed. Hopefully this won't be the first... Watch this space! (Written before I started reading the book).

This novel consists of a prologue and 66 chapters. The chapters are short to medium to long in length so possible to read 'just one more chapter' before bed...OK, I know yeah right, but still just in case!

This book is based in London, England 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿, UK 🇬🇧. The bonus for me of books that are partly or fully based in the UK is that I live in the UK and have sometimes visited places mentioned in the book which makes it easier to picture.

This book is written in third person perspective with the main protagonists being Scarlet Drew, Lily Drew, Ruby Drew, Cillian Drew and DI John Richards. The benefits of third person perspective are that it let's you see the bigger picture of what's going on and you get to know more characters more, what they are thinking and what they are doing. It feels like you get to see the whole picture and not miss out in anything.

OMG EMMA!!! WHAT ARE YOU DOING TO ME!!! WHAT AN ABSOLUTELY EXPLOSIVE BOOK AND BOMBSHELL CLIFFHANGER ENDING!!! I HOPE YOU'VE WRITTEN YOUR NEXT BOOK BECAUSE I CANNOT WAIT!!!

This book is extremely well written with vivid descriptions and the perfect atmosphere for the storyline. The synopsis and cover work perfectly with the book cover.

The book is gripping and addictive from the very first page until the last. I was absolutely hooked throughout with the suspense and tension filled plot. I enjoyed delving back into the underworld and getting to know more about the Drew family worked within the family, the underworld and all the other gangs. The storyline was intricately woven with so many sub plots that kept me completely engaged throughout. The way Emma has written it really helps your imagination picture everything going on. It is filled with laughter, love, crime, loss, shocks, twists and one hell of an explosive ending!!! What an absolute cliffhanger to end on with not just one shocker but 2 massive bombshells/cliffhangers!!! I was absolutely on the edge of my seat, biting my nails with a pounding heart throughout this absolutely gripping and addictive book!!!

I really enjoyed meeting the Drew family again as well as the other characters. I have also learned Emma's previous books were based on the Tyler family who we also met in this series so I am looking forward to going back to read that series as well as any further books in the Drew family serious. Scarlet is definitely a force to be reckoned with as is Lily and who doesn't love a strong kick @ss female in the crime world!! I was absolutely fascinated by all the businesses that she managed to keep afloat. I also enjoyed reading about what Connor and Cillian got up to and having twins myself it's quite interesting to see how these twins worked. I loved both of their huge and hilarious yet serious when needed personalities and they slightly remind me of the Weasley twins from Harry Potter with their cheeky sides. I also had a bit of a soft spot for Ray and really like him. I actually started to feel for Ruby in this book and loved how she was starting to try and help out with the family even if maybe for the wrong reasons. However, by the end maybe not so much pity. I have had several mixed feelings about Ruby since the start of this series, I don't think I've ever had as many mixed feelings about any other character EVER!!! I enjoyed getting to know John in this book and found him to be such a sweet, caring guy who is undeniably in love with Scarlet but I am also absolutely petrified for the guy!!! Every single character was strong and had their own unique personalities and each definitely left an impression on me.

I am looking forward to reading more of Emma's books and it would be intriguing to see them turned into movies. Emma, congratulations on yet another explosive hit and here's to your next success 🍻!!!

Overall a fast paced, explosive page turning, gripping and addictive adventure from the underworld.

Genres covered in this novel include
Thriller, Crime Thriller, Mystery, Psychological Fiction and Crime Thriller amongst others.

I would recommend this book to the fans of the above as well as fans Martina Cole and anyone who enjoys reading about crime from the dark side..

368 pages.

This book is just £2.99 to purchase on kindle via Amazon or free on kindle unlimited which I think is an absolute bargain for this book!!!

Rated 5/5 (I LOVED it ) on Goodreads, Instagram, Amazon UK and Amazon US and on over 30 Facebook pages plus my blog on Facebook.

Man’s law and the law of the underworld are two very different things. Scarlet Drew and her aunt Lily are managing well after the head of their crime family passed away. He was Lily‘s brother and Scarlet‘s father. There is one member of the family who is not quite happy with the way things are going. That person is Lily‘s daughter Ruby. At the end of the second book in this series, Her Rival, her fate seemed undetermined as there was a huge warehouse fire that had her trapped inside. Ruby was previously estranged from her family and now she wants in. This is not just a second chance in life for her, it is more like a third chance. The only problem is, Scarlet is in the way.

Who started that fire and what role do they play with regard to the Drew family? Scarlet and Lily are quite certain who was responsible and they have a plan of revenge that will make it more than clear who is in charge. However, Scarlet has a new man in her life, John, and she is extremely upset once she discovers that not only is he a police officer, but he is working on investigating a murder - a murder that she has been charged with. She had truly begun to let her guard down and now she worries about her future with regards to the crimes she has committed, never mind what possible future she could’ve had with John.

While Scarlet struggles to find a way to stay out of prison, Ruby sees her chance to step in front of Scarlet and to finally be noticed by her mother. Rivalry, betrayal, trust, family connections and even love all play pivotal rules in this third installment in the exciting Drew Family series. The drama that exists within the family and with Scarlet and John, as well as the war between the mob families never lets up for one moment in this thrilling book by Emma Tallon. Her Anna Davis series was utterly addictive and this series here is equally compelling, thus creating an incredible thirst for more and more by this prolific author.

Many thanks to Bookouture and to NetGalley for this ARC for review. This is my honest opinion.

Head of the family crime business, and with a new guy in her life, things have never been better for Scarlet Drew. Working with her aunt Lily on their biggest ever job – revenge on the woman who set fire to their factory, with Lily’s daughter trapped inside.
We start out with Lil's daughter coming home from the hospital and being the crime family they are, getting revenge of the person who harmed the family.
Scarlet also finds out her boyfriend, John, is a cop. Now she doesn't know if she can trust him.
As the family plans a heist, the cops are involved, again but maybe in their favor.
What is it with this author and her mobs series that keep me wanting more? The family dynamics and what they won't do for each other.
I received this from Bookouture and NetGalley.

Her betrayal by Emma Tallon.
Head of the family crime business, and with a new guy in her life, things have never been better for Scarlet Drew. Working with her aunt Lily on their biggest ever job – revenge on the woman who set fire to their factory, with Lily’s daughter trapped inside – Scarlet is suddenly dragged into the local police station to answer questions about the death of a local gangster. The face she sees across the interview table shocks her to her core. It’s her new boyfriend, John.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I loved the cover. I wasn't sure who I liked. I do hope there is more to come. 5*.

This is the third book in the brilliant Drew family gangland crime thriller series. We are straight back into the action from the very first page and this time the Drew family, led by Lily Drew are out for revenge. From the very start this book had me completely hooked. I’m a huge fan of this series and I don’t even need to read the blurb to know it will be a cracker of a read. The author has a fantastic way of developing her characters and one of these is Ruby Drew. Ruby has had her problems throughout these books but I at times do feel slightly sorry for her. However she is jealous of someone and this jealousy I think is going to rear it’s ugly head sometime in the near future. Now I just have to wait patiently for book number 4.

More from the Drew family. I really enjoyed catching up with Scarlett and her cousins as they try and sort out their firm after the factory is burnt down. Lily is beside herself after Ruby is trapped in the fire and Scarlett is heartbroken that the memories of her Dad working in his office which is now ashes. Jennings is also still chasing after Scarlett and the policeman seems to be getting close. Will he get his wish of getting Scarlett behind bars only her cousin Ruby would be happy with that result. Another explosive five star read ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This is the third book in the series and it takes up where book 2 left off and it just keeps getting better. With how book 2 left you hanging I couldn’t wait to get stuck into this one. Very Martina Cole vibes and I’m so delighted to have found similar as I’m a huge fan. I love everything about the Drew Family especially the head of the family being a strong female character like Lilly Drew. There are a few strong female characters throughout along with strong character development that you really feel like you are just getting back into the fold with some old acquaintances. Consistent pace with something always going on and the tension just keeps building and the surprises along the way that you don’t see coming are just everything I love in a book. If your a Martina Cole fan then this series is for you. Emma Tallon you have done it again but please don’t take to long with the next instalment as I’m totally hanging here 😆🥱…

Thanks to Netgalley and Bookouture for the opportunity to read and review this ARC thats due to be published on the 15th of Feb.

Her Betrayal by Emma Tallon

Genre: Crime Thriller
KKECReads Rating: 4/5
I received a copy of this book for free, and I leave my review voluntarily.

Emma Tallon is a British author of gripping, gritty, organised crime thrillers. With several bestsellers published by Bookouture since early 2017, Emma continues to write full time and has many ideas in the pipeline for future novels.

“They hadn’t seen her coming, and when she came, she came with force.”

Lily is the head of her family, and she rules with a brutal fist. When someone burns down their warehouse, with Ruby, Lily’s daughter, inside- Lily knows that cannot go unpunished. There is no drama quite like family drama, and if mama isn’t happy, then no one is happy.

I didn’t realize this was part of a series until I finished it, but the way this book is written, as a stand-alone, is very well done.

The characters were all well defined and developed thoroughly. The mix of personalities was well played.

Lily is a total baddie. She is brutal, intelligent, brave, and unforgiving. She loves her children and will stop at nothing to protect them.

Ruby is fragile and often led by her emotions. But she channels her feelings to allow her to focus on her little plan of revenge.

Scarlet is capable and brave and eager to continue proving herself to Lily. She wants to be a valuable asset. To be seen almost like a daughter, a partner.

Cillian and Connor were nice comedic relief in intense scenes, though they are ruthless and will stop at nothing to do their mother's bidding. Fierce and loyal, brave and bold- the Drew twins are a deadly combination.

There were a lot of characters to follow, but the pieces all worked together. As things started to shift and fall into place, it became clear just how in control Lily was.

With a twist I didn’t see coming and an ending that left me needing more- this is a journey that is just beginning.
