Review 55. Percivious Origins by JJ Cook & AJ Cook

I was sent this book in exchange for an honest review.

The plot of this the 2nd book in the Percivious Trilogy is more science fiction than the 1st book.

I decided to read it ahead of other books on my TBR as I didn't want to forget the events of the first book.

This book was a better fit for my usual choice of reading material.

This book is the prequel to Percivious Insomnia which I read a few days ago.

I absolutely loved this book, it was more of a science fiction story than the previous book and I loved every minute of reading it even though each chapter was from a different character's perspective each time.

In some cases, this book reminded me of Project Hail Mary by Andy Weir with it's plot about interstellar space travel.

I loved the technology used in the space travel and the crew of the ship's plans to colonise another planet.

I will be interested in reading the 3rd book if it continues along the science fiction aspect of this book.

5*

Thank you to the publishers, author and NetGalley for the free copy of this book.

I really like the first book in this series and was looking forward to finally getting around to reading the next one. I wasn't disappointed! Bit of a change in pace but still very interested. Cant wait to see what happens next!

A riviting second in the series. Well written prose with a fast paced plot. If you are a fan of science fiction you will love this series.

I liked this one, even if I am not big on sci-fi. It gave the 100 vibes, with the "leave the planet and live on a space shift" plot, but soooo much better.
The writing was very good, only thing, sometimes there some terms which were a bit too technical for me, but it was okay, just shows my lack of knowledge of spaceships.
I can say that the beginning was a little slow, and maybe some chapter a bit too short compared to number of POVs in the book, and that gave me a bit of confusion a first. I liked most characters, they are well written and developed.

I enjoyed this book and it's predecessor. Both are good thrillers. I'm surprised I liked this one as well, since this also included another interesting plot that kept me engaged and entertained. I look forward to their future work!

Thanks very much for the free ARC for review!!

Hard to understand and relate to knowing I missed the first book. The concept is interesting, and I was drawn to this book because of the concept, so similar to one of my favorite STVoyager episodes. But I kept thinking, what did I miss?
