Everyone would benefit from this book, but especially if you’re parenting children from hard places. Juliana’s approach to the families in her care is commendable and I appreciated her vulnerability in sharing both the difficulties and hope she has experienced walking this path.

This memoir is both poignant and funny because truth be told in the ups and downs of foster care at times you have to laugh to keep from crying. This book reaffirmed something I’ve long said regarding foster care… “broken system, sovereign God.” Juliana Goble truly loved in ambiguity, the uncertainty of each day. She loved like Jesus those in her home and life whether it be for moments, a season, or a lifetime. The author doesn’t shy away from the difficult aspects of foster care, but she definitely leaves the reader with hope.
