If you are looking for a small-town, feel good romance. The Honeymoon Cottage, the first novel in the Cemetery, Indiana series, is the perfect choice. It’s here we meet thirty-one-year-old Yardley Belanger, a wedding planner who works out of the Victorian home she shares with her aunt and Mother. She’s worked hard to restore the Victorian and build a business in Cemetery.

Her newest client, Sheena, arrives with her older brother Travis Long. For the first time in a long time, something stirs in Yardley. Travis and Sheena lost their parents in a tragic accident since he stepped in to raise her. Sheena was sweet and Travis will curl your toes.

Yardley and Travis hit it off from their passion for restoration to an abandoned puppy. This was a slow-burn, low drama romance, as Travis didn’t want to move forward until after the wedding of his sister’s dreams.

We get perspectives from Yardley, Travis, Yardley’s best friend Mimi and her husband Kevin. The town of Cemetary is a hoot, and we witness their affection for Yardley and she interacts with the unmoving leader of the business district. I loved the town mannequin and the shenanigans. Yardley has built her business by uplifting other local business from venues to restaurants. It’s the kind of place you’ll want to spend a long weekend exploring.

Family, character growth, trust, friendship and more are explored in this sweet romantic tale. We get side stories about Yardley’s father, family, and Mimi’s struggles as the new mother of Sammy. From the perfect pacing to the characters you’ll want to call friends, the story pulls you in and holds you until the end.

The Honeymoon Cottage is the perfect summer read, whether on the beach or curling up on the back deck with an iced tea. Perfect for fans of Jill Shalvis.

Remember: communication is key. Enjoyed the wonderful little town with the catchy name, the truly friendly inhabitants who care so much for each other, the addition of Kathleen! But most of all the love the characters have for their friends and partners.

The Honeymoon Cottage by Lori Foster is first book in the Cemetery, Indiana series. Yardley Belanger is a wedding planner is Cemetery, Indiana. The town’s unfortunate name comes from its founder. The funny part is that the town does not have a cemetery. Yardley is a plucky, smart woman who lives with her frustrating mother and aunt. Yardley resurrected the business and has been slowly restoring the beautiful Victorian home where the three women live. Yardley’s mother and aunt have made it difficult with their shopping for expensive clothing and eating out way too often. I liked Yardley who has yet to come into her own. She just needs a little help. The town is full of friendly (and an unfriendly one) and quirky residents. Of course, the town is unique as well. I had to laugh at the slogans Yardley came up with for the t-shirts. Kathleen, the town mannequin, was another amusing item. You never knew where she would show up or how she would be dressed (or what her sign would say). Dodger was a scene stealer. I loved the exuberant pup. There are some scenes that are cringe worthy. I did not like how Yardley’s mother and aunt treated her. They took advantage of Yardley’s good nature. It was a shame that this is how Yardley expected to be treated. I liked seeing the characters grow over the course of the story. I was not a fan of the foul language, the sexual innuendoes, and the intimate situations. I prefer books without these aspects (there is enough of it in the world especially on television). The Honeymoon Cottage is easy to read with steady pacing. It is a lighthearted romance with charming scenes. The book had a sweet ending that will leave readers smiling. I do not want to say too much about The Honeymoon Cottage and spoil it for readers. The Honeymoon Cottage is a happily ever after novel with a vibrant Victorian, a fun friend, an eye-catching client, a beautiful baby, an artful Dodger, and a gabby Yardley.

What a magnificent start to a new series by Lori Foster. Set in a small town where everyone knows and watches out for each other is a unique family of two sisters and one daughter/niece. They're in the wedding planning business and recommend local vendors including a honeymoon cottage for rent to prospective couples.

As with most small towns it's elders against millennials and Cemetery, IN is no different. How they learn to listen and respect the other's opinions for the betterment of the town is at the heart of the story.

There's two best friends, their families, , an abandoned dog, and a new love interest to keep the reader interested. The author weaves a magical, feel-good story about commitment, everlasting love, and the importance of family: those you're born into and those you make.

You want want to miss this 5 star read from Lori Foster. I can't wait for the next book!

I received a free ARC eBook from Net Galley and I am voluntarily submitting this review..

What a super enjoyable, small town romance!

I just adored everything about this read! From the main characters (Travis and Yardley) to all of the supporting townsfolk of Cemetery, Indiana, I just loved all of their quirky differences! I loved Yardley’s dedication to the town, her positive “go-getter” attitude, and her putting up with things but not letting it break her. Travis was such a fresh change to Yardley’s life! The stars aligning for them to meet, and their avoiding the inevitable getting together was so perfectly written!

I love author Lori Foster’s ability to draw a reader in and how she keeps the reader engaged in the story. The descriptive writing style is a huge draw to me! I give this lovely read 5 stars!

Just about everyone in this novel is a lovely person. The heroine, Yardley, loves her little town and its inhabitants. She works hard at her wedding planning business and helping other business-owners in the town to prosper. She has a best friend who is her ride-or-die. The only sour spot is her witchy mother and aunt who treat her like Cinderella.

Enter Travis Long who contacts her about planning his little sister’s wedding. Soon they’re attracted to each other and heading towards their own wedding plans. It’s all quite predictable and takes a long time to get to their HEA. I enjoyed reading it, but I still couldn’t figure out how this little tiny town with only around 100 inhabitants can sustain all the businesses devoted to weddings. And it’s not clear how Travis is from the same area but somehow never heard of this little town with the quirky name of Cemetery. But the author isn’t worried about explaining practical details like that.

This new series by author Lori Foster is set in Cemetery Indiana. First book introduces us to some of the towns people and a few of the main characters. Yardley is a wedding planner. She's also a person the businesses count on to help them out and well Yardley helps pretty much anyone in need of it. When Travis comes into her life wanting to help his sister plan her wedding it opens up the flood gates of emotion for Yardley. While helping Travis Yardley finds courage to come out of her shell and be the person she's supposed to be. I really enjoyed this book. It's a pleasant read no suspenseful drama or anything but so heartwarming. The characters are all likable if not in the beginning then definitely by the end. Part of the story is spent on Yardley and Travis but some is also spent on Yardley's best friend Mimi and her husband Kevin. Part of what really got me is Yardley reminded a lot of me and I could relate to her. Definitely a great beach read. Looking forward to the next installment.

Lori Foster knows how to weave a tale and tug at your heartstrings. The Honeymoon Cottage was a sweet, tearful story that reminds me why I love this author so.

I loved this book! Lori has a way of injecting humor that makes you laugh along with the characters. The characters were well done and I could picture myself along side them as one of "the group".

Lori Foster brings out so many emotions and feelings in The Honeymoon Cottage. There is a great cast of characters with Yardley and Travis, Yardley’s best friend, Mimi and husband, Kevin, and Travis’ sister, Sheena and her fiancé, Todd. Yardley’s mother and aunt are the antagonists with nothing positive to say about Yardley. But Yardley has a positive attitude, always willing to help people. The story is heartwarming as the characters learn more about themselves, some working through difficulties to grow in their relationships. They discover new friends in the most unlikely of places. Add in an abandoned dog and a mannequin named Kathleen and you have a wonderful story worth reading.

Just to reiterate, I give ratings based on similar books from similar genres. While the The Honeymoon Cottage is a 4.75/5 star book that is based on the women’s fiction/romance genre. If that is not your thing, you will not like this book. Though, I’m not sure why you would be reading this if that were the case but there it is.

This is an almost 5 star book in the genre. Don’t believe me, ask goodreads. Seriously, go on over there and see the glowing reviews that are piling up more by the day. It’s almost insane.

I’m not sure I can put a finger on exactly what made the The Honeymoon Cottage so damn enjoyable, but I’m going to give it a try.

It might be the impossibly adorable townsfolk and their constant running gags. They add a color and vibrancy to the whole book that a lot of romances are laking. The town acts as a huge cast of supporting characters popping up unexpectedly to brighten up the page. Anytime something goes down in cemetery expect to be entertained.

The relationships in The Honeymoon Cottage were so well done. The best friends, the complicated family members, the new romance, and my personal favorite, getting to know and finding respect for a supposed adversary. Honestly, if more people behaved in their relationships as Yardley does, especially once she makes boundaries with her family, the world would be a better place.

The Honeymoon Cottage might also be so good because of its honesty. Reading about a couple struggling to find their way back to each other after a baby really spoke to me. Lori Foster wrote this part of the story with such earnestness that I have to believe she experienced it first hand. Just really freaking well done.

Conclusion
The Honeymoon Cottage is so cute, so readable, and so quirky. Instant suggestion to romance lovers everywhere.

I thoroughly enjoyed everything about this book.

It’s a beautiful story of loving…..yourself, your family and your friends and even wonderful animals.

So many laugh out loud moments throughout the story.

The Honeymoon Cottage was a sweet, easy read. It read more as women's fiction, instead of a straight up contemporary romance, compared to some of Ms. Foster's other recent releases.
I liked how there were multiple stories intermingled, with multiple points of view.

I really enjoyed enjoyed Yardley's character, and most of the secondary characters as well. The friendship between her and Mimi is one everyone should be so lucky to have!
The romance with Travis moved quickly, even as they tried to take things slow. Travis is pretty wonderful. He's a terrific big brother to Sheena and I appreciated how he always thought of her.

Loved the town of Cemetery and how it played such a large part in the story. The picture Ms. Foster painted of Cemetery made it a town I wouldn't mind living in! The people were great and I loved how they were all on Yardley's side, and always had her back.

I enjoyed this book. The h was funny and outspoken. She is a wedding planner and meets the H when he comes with his sister to help plan her wedding. There is an immediate spark between the H and the h. The h, Yardley, has a best friend, Mimi, the story moves between Yardley and Mimi, as well as Travis, the h..

Yardley Belanger is a wedding planner in the town of Cemetery, Indiana where she loves helping people plan the wedding of their dreams. She lives in a historic home along with her mother and aunt putting up with their quirky personalities. Yardley is passionate and the towns people adore her, especially her best friend in the world Mimi. Yardley would love to plan her own wedding, but with a population of only 800 people, she has exhausted all options for finding a husband.

When a new bride comes for a consultation, Yardley finds herself speechless when she sees the brides brother. He is hot, no just hot, but smoking hot. In typical Yardley fashion, she starts talking and can not stop which she thinks makes her look silly, but the hot brother thinks it is only cuter. Soon Yardley finds herself planning the wedding along side of Mr. Hot and his sweet sister. Can Yardley stay in the friend zone until after the wedding?

This is such a sweet romance by Lori Foster. Yardley is such a unique character will all her quirks and charms. I loved her relationship with Mimi and how the book also includes Mimi’s story on the side. I also enjoyed Yardley’s exchanges with the town council and how she gains a new friend in the process. The writing, the setting and the characters are all fabulous and I loved the book. As Harlequin Publishing graciously gifted me this book, I voluntarily wrote this review. Grab a tea friends and come visit Cemetery!

The first book in a new series always has the uphill battle of getting the reader hooked into the location or family or whatever the running theme will be. As per her usual, Ms Foster pulled me directly into the town of Cemetery and all it's inhabitants.

The Honeymoon Cottage features Yardley and Travis as the main couple but we have no shortage of secondary players. From Yardley's mom and aunt to her best friend. The townspeople and also the mysterious Kathleen.

Will Yardley find her happy ever after with Travis, an unexpected but delicious client?

I can't wait to read more about the town with the unfortunate name, the townspeople and of course Kathleen. Great first book in this new series.

Lori Foster once again displays how amazing her writing is in the wonderful, heart-warming, story in The Honeymoon Cottage by Lori Foster, book one in her new Cemetery, Indiana series. While turning the pages I found myself falling in love with these characters, with their warm and open hearts, compassion, enthusiasm, quirkiness, and understanding. This sweet story features the love story between Yardley and Travis, but also highlights the strong friendship and support Yardley has with her best friend, Mimi and other members of the small committee. Yardley is a wedding planner in Cemetery, Indiana and she is all about delivering everyone else’s happy ever after, but not her own. She works and lives with her eccentric, unmarried mom and aunt in an old Victorian house. Travis, a contractor, raised his sister, Sheena, and is now helping her plan her wedding. Sheena is a sweetheart and is grateful for everything her brother does; even if he is attracted to Yardley. Travis is a compassionate, hot hunk. Yardley and Travis hit it off from the start, with their passion for restoration to saving an abandoned puppy. This was a slow-burn, low drama romance, as Travis didn’t want to move forward until after the wedding of his sister’s dreams.

Yardley is unique. She is friendly with everyone in the community, but is resentful that all the businesses are required to use Cemetery in their name. Especially since the town does not have a cemetery and adding the name to her wedding planning business makes it sound more like funeral planning than happy. Determined, Yardley befriends Betty Cemetery, great-great-something-granddaughter of the town founder and chair of the town council. These two are hilarious together as their friendship grows. You can’t read this story without enjoying and laughing at the pranks the town residents plays on each other with a mannequin, named Kathleen, who is dressed and posed different ways as well as placed around town. This quirky small town sounds like so much fun; definitely a place I would enjoy living.

Ms. Foster wrote a story that was wonderful, humorous, entertaining and romantic that should definitely not be missed. This tale was full of romance, humor, family, close friends, small-town life, interesting and entertaining characters, and so much more. I could not put this book down; needing to know what was going to happen to Yardley and the cottage. I highly recommend The Honeymoon Cottage to other readers and look forward to the next book in the series.

4.5 Stars
This book is so good! I could hardly put it down. I loved the small town and the name is too hilarious. Yardley, I just loved her to pieces. She has such a caring kind heart. She is a prime example of someone with a golden heart. She so deserves all the happiness. Trust me when you get your first look at her mom and aunt you'll understand. Travis is really yummy and such a good brother. He has some swoon worthy moments. Really a lot of great characters in this book. They each steal a piece of my heart. I loved Yardley's best friend Mimi. She is a hoot and such a supportive friend to Yardley. Her husband is swoon worthy himself. I would highly recommend this one! Trust me you won't be disappointed. It has awesome characters, great sense of humor, and plenty heart.

I can always count on Lori Foster to give me a story I can get lost in, and this time it's a series - set in a town called Cemetery! And let me just say that this town has a life of its own. It's practically a character in its own right. The characters are as quirky as you'd expect, if not more, and that's not even counting our romantic couple. Yardley and Travis are one of those couples you just can't help but root for. So, the romance is an all-in kind of thing almost instantly for me, and the terrific secondary characters are the icing on the cake - and this is just the beginning of the series, the introduction to these characters and this delightful little town.
