The Honeymoon Cottage by Lori Foster is the first book in the new contemporary romance Cemetery, Indiana series. It seems that the Cemetery, Indiana series is going to be one that changes the main characters between the books as this first book read fine as a standalone romance.

Yardley Belanger loves love and that shows every day as she works in her own business as a wedding planner in her small town. And while Yardley also loves her small town of Cemetery, Indiana she doesn’t enjoy the town law that the council voted on in which every business in the town using the town name as Cemetery Weddings leaves a lot to be desired.

Despite the name conflict with the town council though Yardley has made her business a success.Yardley takes a call from a potential client, well her brother calling on her behalf and sets up a meeting. Travis Long wants his sister to have whatever she wants on her big day and wasn’t too sure of her choice of wedding planners until meeting Yardley but after he does he can’t help but want to get to know her better.

Being from Indiana myself I immediately was intrigued with The Honeymoon Cottage by Lori Foster and after reading I’m certainly glad I picked this one up. The characters were lovely and I thoroughly enjoyed getting to know them and those around them. Yardley didn’t take long to convince me that her dream cottage would make a wonderful honeymoon destination and fall in love with her small town too. I enjoyed the fact this was a low burn romance and also the side story of the town’s authority. Great first installment and I’ll be looking forward to seeing what book two brings.

I received an advance copy from the publisher via NetGalley

If you are looking for a book to read this summer I suggest you put this one on your list. I really liked Yardley's characters she's a selfless, loyal and just overall a great person loved by almost all. And when I say almost it seems her mother and aunt are in that category because it seems they would show their distaste or shows how unappreciative they are throughout the book and I really didn't like their characters. I do think its interesting getting to see why they were like that though. I loved Yardley's friendship with Missy and being able to see a bit of Missy sides of things. I mean even Missy was going though her lackluster love life and Yardley hardly has a love life until her clients brother came around. Then there was the romance I enjoyed as well. I just loved getting to know everyone and seeing how Yardley was around everyone, but it was hard seeing her getting taken advantage of. Overall this was a sweet read and I really enjoyed it. Highly Recommend!

Yardley Belanger is a bona fide miracle worker. She is a wedding planner extraordinaire, with a few problems, one being her company name, Cemetery Weddings. The Honeymoon Cottage is set in Cemetery, Indiana and all the businesses must have Cemetery in their name. She is trying to get the town council, presided over by Betty Cemetery, to change that bylaw. She also lives and works with her mother and aunt who take advantage of her and spend more money than they bring in. Finally there is her resignation that she will forever be the wedding planner, but never the bride. When her newest bride, Sheena Long shows up to hire, Yardley, it is her handsome, single brother who accompanies her and the sparks start to fly almost immediately. Can Yardley break free of her family and self-imposed single life to find love?

I really enjoyed The Honeymoon Cottage. This was women's fiction combined with romance. Lori Foster has penned a book set in a quirky town with wonderful characters. I laughed so often, yet also loved the swoon-worthy love interest and developing romance. Yardley, Travis, Betty and Mimi were all interesting and relatable characters. I have to say I loved Betty Cemetery. She was the matriarch of the town and was not well liked. She was bossy and refused to listen to anyone, but when Yardley takes the time to get to know her she realizes she is a fascinating woman who is just lonely. Aurora and Lilith, Yardley's mother and aunt were also very unlikable at the beginning, but as the story progresses and their secrets are unveiled, they become more likable. Sheena and her fiance also have their own story arc. Mimi, Yardley's best friend is a constant cheerleader, but has her own storyline. I enjoyed the development of Yardley's and Travis' relationship. Everyone was rooting for them, but Yardley was oblivious to Travis' feelings. Throw in Kathleen, the town mannequin who shows up all over town in different clothes for different situations and occasions and the rescue of Dodger by Yardley and Travis and this story has it all. I loved this story and highly recommend it to those who enjoy romance, women's fiction, small town stories, and quirky but relatable characters.

The Honeymoon Cottage is the start of the Cemetery , Indiana romance series by Lori Foster in which a small town wedding planner finds her own happily ever after.

The main romance arc of the story is between wedding planner Yardley and Travis, the older brother of one of her brides to be. Yardley is a sweetheart of a character, one whose always taking care of those around her, whether it's reciprocated or not. She's enthusiastic, kind and fun, which is why I felt so bad that her mother and aunt put her down and had destroyed her self-worth. I adored Travis, he raised his younger sister when their parents pasted, and she's always been in number one priority. Both characters are allowing themselves to focus on their own happiness for a change. They have a slow burn romance with day dates and kisses that lead to an open door intimate scene that fit them perfectly.

While I enjoyed the main romance, I was actually really invested in the side arc of Yardley's best friend Mimi and her husband Kevin. We are given both their point of views as they struggle with balancing their intimate relationship with their role of new parents. Mimi had a difficult pregnancy and Kevin almost lost her, which makes him handle her with more gentleness than she's prefer. Mimi is insecure with her new mom body and feels undesirable. The two love each other so much, and I was rooting for them to speak up and communicate their fears. Them finding their way back to each other emotionally and physically was wonderful to read.

In the end, The Honeymoon Cottage is an easy-to-read cozy small town romance. Filled with best friends who are more like sister, a lovable pup, support, new friendships, a pesky mannequin, community, and love.

This is one of those books that will undoubtedly leave me in a slump for days because I want to be back with Travis and Yardley.

Her writing is fantastic, her characters layered and relatable. With well-plotted storylines. Truly heartwarming story that I didn't want to see end!
There's something here for everyone and definitely a MUST READ!

After reading this book, I now know why I keep coming back to this author again and again. It's been quite a week and I needed something to make me feel warm and happy. The Honeymoon Cottage was exactly what I needed to lift my sprits. I can always count on a Lori Foster book for that. This is such an adorable, sweet yet slow burn romance. I absolutely loved going on this journey with Yardley and Travis. I loved watching Yardley finally realize that she is worth everything. I was reserving judgment about her mom and aunt, but they showed some nice growth toward the end. Along with Yardley and Travis, we are treated to watching two other sweet relationships. The friendships (new and old) in this book are so endearing. The town of Cemetery is quirky and filled with wonderful characters and traditions. I could go on. Just go read it. You won't be sorry!

Title: The Honeymoon Cottage
Author: Lori Foster
Genre: Romance
Rating: 3.5 out of 5

She was fine arranging other people’s weddings… But life had other plans.

When it comes to creating the perfect happily-ever-after, Yardley Belanger is a bona fide miracle worker. From bridal bouquets to matching cowboy boots, the quirky wedding planner’s country-chic affairs have caused quite a stir in the small town of Cemetery. But when it comes to her own love life? She’s clueless.

Completely clueless.

Perhaps it’s for the best. The thirty-one-year-old has poured her heart and soul into her business and doesn’t have time for anything—or anyone—else. And that’s something not even the gorgeous older brother of her newest client can change…right?

All Travis Long wanted was to give his little sister, Sheena, the wedding of her dreams. Ever since the tragic death of their parents, he’s done everything he can to make her feel loved and give her everything she needs. Still…a country wedding? In a place called Cemetery? But Yardley seems to know exactly what to do and how to do it—and Travis finds himself falling for her a little more each day.

Soon Yardley and Travis find themselves being nudged together by well-meaning locals who want to see the town’s favorite wedding planner get her own happy ending.

This wasn’t a bad read. Yardley’s family was horrible, though. It was just…pointless meanness, selfishness, and bad behavior. I liked the small-town feel of the setting, but I probably wouldn’t read anything else in this series.

Lori Foster is a bestselling author. The Honeymoon Cottage is her newest novel.

Cute summer read! Yardley lives in a small lake community, perfect for her business as a wedding planner, that is until she uses the town's unique name as all businesses of the town are required to do because everyone wants to get hitched in Cemetery. Yardley and her best friend Mimi have been connected at the hip since they were young, close as sisters, life is slightly different with Mimi a new mom and Yardley trying to keep her family business afloat. When Travis contacts Yardley to plan his sister's wedding he never thought he'd meet someone so interesting. Great story about made families, humor, love and small town living.

This is a Women's Fiction/Romance. I really love the characters in this book. The quirky small town in this book sounds like so much fun, and the old ladies in this book had me laughing so much. This book was a fun and cute read with some great characters. I was kindly provided an e-copy of this book by the publisher (Harlequin) or author (Lori Foster) via NetGalley, so I can give an honest review about how I feel about this book. I want to send a big Thank you to them for that.

This is a fun small town romance/women’s fiction book that is easy to read and will leave you smiling. Yardley is a wedding planner yet has no romance of her own. She is currently planning the wedding for Travis‘s little sister. It’s a sweet story and it’s fun to see the progression between Yardley and Travis as they both try to concentrate on the wedding. All of the side characters just add to the entertainment value of the book. It’s the type of small-town romance I love where you meet new characters and you see the interactions of the main characters with everyone around them. All in all it’s a lovely book and I look forward to more books sat here.

Lori Foster really knows how to write wonderful and realistic characters! This book is filled with romance and family. There are quirky characters and a great rescue dog…and then there is Kathleen. This book makes me want to visit Cemetery and the Honeymoon Cottage. A fantastic story you won’t want to miss!
I received an advance copy of this book from NetGalley and the author, however, I voluntarily wrote an honest review. All opinions are strictly my own.

This is one of my favorites by Lori. We meet wedding planner Yardley who is so sure love isn't for her & she would remain single for the rest of her life. She likes her life in Cemetery where the citizens like to play pranks and living in a town with a funny name. When Travis comes to town for his sister's wedding he finds he really likes Yardley. Travis has helped raise his sister and was so excited for her wedding which was so sweet.

THE HONEYMOON COTTAGE is a wonderful read that will pull you in from the very first page and never let you go. Lori Foster grabs the reader by the heart strings and reminds us all that you never really knows what goes on behind closed doors. Once I started reading, it was very hard to stop. I was flipping the pages like a woman on a mission. I had to know what was going to happen to Yardley and the cottage! Yardley is a wedding planner in Cemetery, Indiana and she is all about delivering everyone else’s happy ever after, but not her own. I can’t believe I’ve only read Lori Foster once before! If you need a cute summer read as a pick me up then THE HONEYMOON COTTAGE is a good one to read!

THE HONEYMOON COTTAGE is a charming book with a very sweet love story between Yardley and Travis. Mimi and Yardley are great friends. They support each other and even are able to give a push to each other when needed. I like that both of them end up in a relationship at the same time. It allows them time to chat and work through issues. Yardley and Travis are great characters as are Mimi and her husband, Kevin. If you love small town romances, run to THE HONEYMOON COTTAGE.

If you are in a reading slump, THE HONEYMOON COTTAGE will pull you right out! My emotions were all over the place, but it was very easy to care about all of the characters. One of the funniest things in this story is the town playing pranks on each other with a mannequin named Kathleen, that is dressed and posed in different ways. THE HONEYMOON COTTAGE is insanely good! More like a train wreck where you know that looking at it isn’t going to be good but you can’t tear your eyes away! I love romances that aren’t just about the relationship between the main characters but also the relationships between family and friends.

I received a complimentary copy of this book from Harlequin through Netgalley. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

THE HONEYMOON COTTAGE (Cemetery, Indiana Book #1) by Lori Foster is a heartfelt and charming first book in a new small-town contemporary romance series. Besides meeting the quirky population of a town called Cemetery, the romance focuses on the town’s wedding planner who never anticipates being the bride.

Yardley Belanger is an amazing wedding planner, who has a basket full of seashell wishes, but has resigned herself to always being the planner and never the bride. When her latest bride shows up for her first meeting, she comes with her older brother, Travis, who Yardley finds gorgeous. As the wedding planning continues, Yardley and Mimi, her best friend since childhood continue to plot ways for Travis to spend time with Yardley. He is doing the same and working to make all her dreams come true.

Besides the romance, the reader is also introduced to the other residents of the town of Cemetery. All the secondary characters are fully fleshed, and you become as emotionally involved in their stories as you do with the romance between Yardley and Travis. Two of my favorite things in this story, besides the romance is the continual appearance of Kathleen, the town mannequin who shows up all over town in different clothes for different situations and occasions and the rescue of Dodger by Yardley and Travis which made my dog loving heart very happy. I also had to pull out the tissues as Yardley worked to befriend Betty, the town’s last remaining Cemetery descendent.

This is an all around wonderful read with a satisfying romance and entertaining characters that I cannot wait to visit again in Cemetery, Indiana!

If I could write a one word review it would be, "Swoon!" I needed a good early pre-summertime, dive all in, escape book and this fit that description. I was enthralled from cover to end and wanted more. The heroine was very relatable - who doesn't dive into work and life and just want to be left alone? It's usually in those moments that destiny steps in and knocks right on the door. That's exactly what happened when our hero knocked, maybe not ever so lightly, on the door. Their romance had all the elements needed to keep you reading and want to know more about these people and their lives. Lori never disappoints and I'm so happy this is out just in time for more people to sit right at the pool or beach and indulge!

I loved this book. It’s such a fun read and I loved the town of Cemetery,Indiana including a fun mannequin. Loved the chemistry between Yardley and Travis. She loves her job but wonders if she’ll ever get her happy ever after including the experience of Honeymoon Cottage. Thankfully, her town is to the rescue. Loved their happy ever after. I voluntarily read an advanced readers copy and I highly recommend this book.
