I loved every minute of this twisty debut novel by J.C. Bidonde. I was hooked from the beginning until the end. I had to know what was going on. Told from alternating twin POVs, this story dives into the minds of these characters while spotlighting their complicated family relationships, traumas, and secrets.

The book is well written and the twins, while flawed, are believable and realistic in how their mental illness is portrayed. The supporting characters are equally as interesting and I found myself trying to figure out the huge plot twist. While I was on the right track, I did not see the final twist coming!

I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves a good psychological thriller!

Story starts when Alexa Martin is questioned by police for the death of her boyfriend, Curt.
Book promo: Alexa has been over protected all her life by her widowed father. She is so excited when she gets a marketing job as well as an apartment in New York City!
Her father, as well as her therapist is concern. The worst part is her new found freedom is cut short when her twin sister Beth shows up.

Story alternates between the POV of twin sisters Alexa and Beth.
This story is full of Suspense ~ as in all psychological thrillers I expected twists and turns. There sure are a lot of unknown things going on.
 We know Alexa and Beth are twins
 We know there was an accident and then mom commits suicide.
 We know the twins were separated
 We know Dad has a reason for being over protecting Alexia.
 We know that because of what happened in what is a secret past; Alexa needed medical/psychiatric help
and attended the Weinstein Center. In fact, Alexia is still seeing Dr. Greer.
 We know Dr. Greer has been encouraging Alexa to let Beth go. Their relationship is not healthy.
 We know one of the girls has a mental illness ~Hmmm ~ perhaps both?
 We know Alexa is now working in NYC at FLLW (pronounced follow but they always use the initials)
 We know Alexa reconnects with Curt (a cooking you tuber influencer) when she starts at FLLW but we
don’t know where they first met.

The narrator Marnye Young does a great job in performing all of the characters. I liked her performance of both Alexia and Beth ~ she made their personalities very clear. I immediately liked Alexia and disliked Beth and her nasty language.
(Actually since I have a low tolerance for f-bombs, I am currently way over my over my quota~ but this story was so good, it totally kept me interested!)

Story kept me curious ~ true I had my suspicions but
I really wasn’t positive what was going on.
I love good courtroom drama and this courtroom did not disappoint.
And aww that epilogue!!!

All in all this turned out to be a WOW read, I didn’t expect!!

For casual readers, this book is an entertaining read.

For readers like me…the twist in this book has become so popular in psychological thrillers recently, that I spotted it with the first few pages. With that said, it was at least handled in a moderately more informed manner than others I’ve read; The author at least did some research. However, because the twist was so obvious to me, it was hard for me invest in this title. I just wanted to skip to the end.

With that said, there were still a few unique plot points that I enjoyed, particularly revolving around the issue of accountability.

A really strong debut novel!

This story finds its protagonist finally starting to feel like a true adult when her newfound independence is interrupted by the reappearance of her twin, who hasn't moved past their trouble past.

This one was good, and I was listening attentively for the first half, but it wasn't really anything unique and I wasn't really sure where it was going. Then about halfway through there was a twist I did not see coming. I read at least a thriller a week, usually two, and I was honestly 100% surprised by the turn the plot took. From that point on it was an absolutely compulsive listen.

It's an extremely strong debut, and I am definitely looking forward to more from this author! :)

This was an interesting one - I felt like it was pretty predictable and was patting myself on the back for my sleuthing skills right until the very end when BAM - curveball!! So I have to give it some credit for really throwing me for a loop.

There were some timely and relevant bits about the pandemic but the story took place in an alternate reality where the vaccine solved the pandemic. I wish!!

But as I mentioned, many parts were quite predictable and the characters were just surface vessels to use to move the plot. They weren’t well developed and there wasn’t growth, something I really look for in a book.

Overall, not a bad read. Story was predictable but somewhat engaging and the authors writing style was not offensive. The narrator was just fine. Nothing special but nothing terrible, taking away from the audiobook either. Give it a try!!

How I loved this book!!!!!
I was completely in the dark when I startet listening to this Audiobook.
Basically it is the story of twin sisters with a 'but' of a history. The one seems to have done pretty well while the other still seems to struggle now they are grown up. One sister envying the other- nothing too special about this? well wait and see!
this story messed up my mind like I love it when diving into a psychological thriller!

The premis of this book intrigued me and I was excited to listen to the audiobook. For a debut novel, this one was good. Not great, but it held it's own in the mass of psychological mysterious out there right now. I figured out one of the two twists by chapter two. The second twist was something I pondered, but didn't think I could be right because I thought it would be too over-the-top. Well, J.C. Bidonde was not afraid to go over-the-top, and it worked! All in all, this was a quick, enjoyable story and I will be looking forward to more from this author.

This is a quick read, and I really enjoyed the audio. I was intrigued from the start and my attention was held the entire way through. It starts off with Alexa getting a job in New York City, and she has to start quickly that next Monday, which means she has to find an apartment over the weekend. This seems to really stress out her dad, whom she currently lives with in Connecticut, and we immediately realize there is a reason he is concerned but don’t quite know why, and off we go.

I mostly had this one figured out but there were a couple of twists that I did not see coming and caught me off guard in a good way. I really enjoyed this one and am glad I picked it up.

Two sisters must come to terms with secrets from the their past when one moves to NYC to start a new job in this psychological thriller. I liked the frenetic pace of this and the plot enveloped me immediately and the narration worked really well in conveying a great deal of chaos and suspense in the audio version. The short chapters also helped with this. Unfortunately, I figured out what was going on pretty much right away so there were few surprises. That in combination with this being a plot that’s been done many times before in this genre made this just mediocre for me. With that said, fans of psychological thrillers should definitely give this a shot.

This was an all right book. It did take me a while to realize what was going on (the twist) but once I did, it was rather obvious. I wasn’t too fond of the ending, but all in all, it was pretty good.

In Do You Follow readers will find an exciting family drama that takes a turn down a rather dark road. While the first half of the book focuses on setting the stage the explosive second have more than makes up for the slow start. Bidonde has penned an entertaining and exciting puzzle that takes readers beyond the expected.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Four entertained stars for this physiologically based murder mystery. 14+ for subject matter and mental health and death triggers.

This was a very good thriller, and I say that mostly because I didn't anticipate the ending. At all. At first I felt that I had some sort of vague idea of what was really going on, but I was very wrong. Twins Alexa and Beth seem to have a very dark and mysterious history, most of which is kept from the reader. As the plotline continues, we find out a bit more about what REALLY happened with these twins, and what that means for Alexa as she navigates her new life. Beth sends Alexa crazy warnings about Curt, but Alexa shrugs it off... Beth IS the crazy one, isn't she?

This one was definitely worth the read!

a weird, strange little thriller. brief synopsis: Alexa and Beth are identical twins. Alexa’s boyfriend Kurt is dead, and Beth did it but is nowhere to be found. Alexa is on trial for Kurt’s murder. I chose to read DO YOU FOLLOW because of its marketing as a social media thriller. But it’s really not. it’s more of THE GOOD SISTER except less character development and more psycho-thriller.

The premise of this book was fantastic, however it has been done 50,000 times before so if you read alot of books (as I do) it's very obvious the direction this is going the minute we meet a particular character.

And (incoming rant here) unless a character is sick or dying from Covid can authors/editors and publishing house please for the love of God STOP WRITING/MENTIONING IT WHEN IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE STORY!

Yes, the victim takes the cake as psycho of the week in this tense psychological thriller that feels way too real. I thoroughly enjoyed the twists and turns, Alexa was exceptionally sympathetic, Beth was fascinating (so was Alexa, by the way) and the twist was very well written and woven seamlessly into the story.

Took me a little while to get into this book but once I had I wanted to know what was going to happen. A little bit predictable and has been done before but it was an enjoyable audio book and I would recommend it to others.

This was an interesting listen. There are little hints the reader/listener can pick up on and you think you know what's going on, but the truth remains just out of reach. I liked the premise and think the story was woven well. Thank you for the opportunity to review this title.

Mentally ill people are more likely to be victims of crimes than perpetrators. Using mental illness as an excuse for murder is stale. This was the big problem I had with the book.

I guessed the main twist early on, and hoped I was wrong.

The book didn't have any glaring editing or proofreading mistakes, and Marnye Young was a good narrator for the audio book. The pacing was a little off in some points due to some time skips.

And the setup, where Alexa got a job with no degree or professional experience that paid enough for her to have her own apartment in a decent neighborhood in NYC felt like a bit of a deus ex machina.

Really enjoyed this book even though when the twist came I was super confused and had to reread a few parts. Very good, a little sad of an ending but I enjoyed the whole story. Thank you NetGalley for this ARC

Whew. This was a fast paced, exciting thriller. I listened to it in one day with time to spare. I was very engrossed in the story. I definitely will read more from this author in the future.

Quick synopsis: Alexa has struggled with mental health concerns after a childhood accident and subsequently her mother’s death. She is doing better, though, and gets her dream job in New York City and leaves her dad to move there. Upon arrival her twin sister, Beth, appears in her doorstep needing a place to stay and she reluctantly agrees. Her job starts off well when she sees a familiar face who is her new client. His name is Curt and they met previously when he was employed by her psychiatric hospital. Now he has hired her company to help him get his YouTube persona up and running. They fall quickly into a real relationship but Beth disapproves. I won’t say more for spoiler sake!
