An up to date look at what neuroscience can teach us as coaches or mentors. It explains some fairly complex scientific findings in an accessible and enjoyable manner. Recommended for anyone who is a business or personal coach looking to update their knowledge, or those in training.

This book presents a very structured look at neuroscience as it pertains to coaching, whether as a coach or manager. This book is dry. Like, really dry. As a coach, I was disappointed by the lack of actionable information. Although there were tips for coaches in each chapter, they were vague and unhelpful. Overall, it seems like the purpose of this book is to recruit coaches and managers into their coaching program rather than teaching them anything useful. Also, there are many typos and grammar errors in this book.

This has interesting and helpful info for coaches and others interested in how the brain works and how one can use it to help others (as well as oneself). I was happy to find this, particularly since it's been around in earlier editions for a while. Good stuff.

Thanks very much for the free review copy for review!

A useful resource for coaches and mentors - I got lots of takeaways for my work supporting junior colleagues, and would recommend it to all leaders and coaches. Thanks to NetGalley for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I read this book from two perspectives, I have a neurological disease so I hoped to learn more about neuroscience, and I also partner a business with a financial coach and was hoping to learn more about engaging with our clients. I think this book does a good job of reducing a very complex topic so that the average person can understand, but does so in a way that doesn't come off condescending. I do admit, there were some parts that just weren't of interest to me and I just skimmed those chunks. I really enjoyed the chapter on the different neurotransmitters and learning not only how they impact the brain, but how they impact our day to day life. I also enjoyed the tips on how to "trick" your brain into releasing what you need. There's a lot of good information here even if you're just looking to hack your own brain.

Neurosciences is a passion of mine we is neuropsychology. I found this to be written in a very helpful form for anyone new to this field or seeking to learn more about our amazing brains. I liked the breakdown of the different parts of the brain, explanations and research. If you're newly interested in neuroscience this is a great book to start with. I think it is a good beginning book for anybody not just somebody that's into coaching. There's a lot of great beginner packed information in here.

This book is written in a very clear way and, as far as theory is concerned, it provides a lot of suggestions to deepen the functioning of our brain and how chemistry correlates in a more or less direct way with our choices and our behavior. As for the practice, there are hints, but clearly here the matter is way more complicated, but at least the authors have tried.

I received from the Publisher a complimentary digital advanced review copy of the book in exchange for a honest review.
