I have found previous years of this guide immensely helpful and this year's version is the similarly essential. Lots to take on board and lots of practical advice. Updated for 2022.

Even though the resource and terms are UK-based, readers can still get information and see if there is anything related things where they are. Gives a basic understanding of the topics.

This guide is a wealth of information for anyone who already has or plans to invest in a pension (plus those who will at some point rely on the state pension). It educates the reader about not only pensions but also different types of tax, investments, how to budget, and what to be aware of once you retire - such as activities a person can do after retiring, what to be aware of if you retire abroad, health, starting your own business etc.

I thought I knew quite a bit about pensions before I read this book, but the nuances are almost infinite and I am now so much better equipped to plan for my retirement than I was before. Really glad I read this book!

A thoroughly comprehensive guide for retirement. I wanted to give myself a bit more of an education on pensions - I thought this read was very well laid out, and whilst upon reading I'd say is aimed at people looking at their retirement age, it gave me lots to think about.

The first thing that I want to note about this title is that it is geared toward British readers. For that reason, some of the specifics may not be as useful for those from other countries. However, that said, there are many good things to think about here and with a bit of research, readers can most likely find similar resources in their own countries.

There are a number of chapters that have to do with finances, including budgeting, pensions, tax and more. I like that there other sections that look at options for life as a retiree; for example, there are sections on leisure activities including adult education, the arts, dance, museums and more. There are also chapters on starting a business and even one on looking for paid work. In addition, there is a detailed section on health.

This is a book that includes a lot. Readers can tackle it by going straight through or by focusing on areas of interest.

Many thanks to NetGalley and the publisher. All opinions are my own.
