"Good Morning, Love" is a story about following your dreams with some romance on the side. While a little bit slow in parts, the music industry aspect is interesting. The ending was a little open and makes me wonder if a sequel is in the works. A quick, fun read. Some industry jargon and pop culture references may be confusing if you are not in the know (like me!)

Thank you to Simon and Shuster and Netgalley for an advanced readers copy of this book for my honest review.

This was a sweet love story that touched topics in a sensitive manner. I found the heroin to be delightful throughout the books, and I was rooting for the couple.

Good Morning, Love is a debut novel that takes readers behind the scenes of the music industry and into the life of Carlisa Henton, a musician juggling her dreams with a day job in New York City. While the book offers a fresh look at the music scene and includes diverse characters, its execution left me with mixed feelings.

I found the book a bit slow slow and hard to get into. The romance between Carlisa and Tau lacked depth and emotional resonance, with the relationship feeling superficial. While the story picks up later on with the couple having to hide their relationship, the romance was not strong enough to carry the narrative.

Life caught up to me as I was reading this and I never got to finish it. I have now finally been able to finish this and let me say it was amazing. It pulled me right out of a reading slump. The characters were well written and I felt like they were my friends too. The problems they faced were real and raw. 10/10 reccommend.

Honestly, this book was a hit and miss for me. While I do live that we’re getting the black romance representation it just feel flat for me. The book was going too slow for me and while I get it’s supposed to be sort of a slow burn it was tooo slow of a burn, especially silly for the amount of pages in the book. It is only 288 pages so it’s a quick (-ish) read!

Good Morning Love is a book about more than just about falling in love. We see the caharacters following their dreams and finding out what they really want can take them very far in life. it was great to see an Afro Latina working and striving in the music industry. She didn’t leave her friends behind when she made it. Many told Carli to stay away from Tau because of his status and his past and Carli learned to figure things out for herself. I loved how each “Chapter” was called a Track.

The book started off really slow for about 30% of the way in but then picked up very nicely afterwards.

A peak into the music world. Dating a famous musician. Career and growth mindset.

Carli is chasing her dreams as a songwriter, while working as a Junior Account Manager at a media company when she catches the eye of a famous musician, Tau. I loved the natural progression of this story. And the writing will suck you in! Carli has ambition and strength. This story felt so authentic. Looking forward to more from this author. Great story teller. Great audiobook!

Enjoyed, but don't have a ton to say — was about average compared to other books of the same type that I've read, so I at least had a fun time with it!

Carli is a junior account manager for a media company and had high ambitions for her life including making it as a songwriter. She meets and is pursued by a famous musician her thoughts for her life change and forced her to reevaluate what she really wants.

Parts of this story were pretty slow and I thought this was supposed to be a romance, but it’s more of a true-life skewed storyline. Not bad, not great. Ending was just underwhelming.

Good Morning, Love: A Wild Ride Through the Ups and Downs of the NYC Music Scene!

If you're ready to embark on a rollercoaster ride through the glamorous, fast-paced world of the New York City music scene, then buckle up and dive into Ashley M. Coleman's debut novel, Good Morning, Love! This disarmingly fun book will have you tapping your feet, laughing out loud, and swooning over the enticing romance that unfolds.

Meet Carlisa Henton, a spunky musician and songwriter with dreams as big as the Empire State Building. Carli, as her friends call her, is juggling her day job as a junior account manager at a media company and her passionate pursuit of a career in music. But when she unexpectedly crosses paths with Tau Anderson, a rising R&B star, her perfectly calculated life is thrown into delightful chaos. Prepare yourself for a whirlwind of emotions as Carli's carefully constructed world collides with Tau's enticing star power.

One of the best aspects of Good Morning, Love is its authentic depiction of the music industry. Ashley M. Coleman gives us an all-access pass to the behind-the-scenes drama, the cutthroat competition, and the exhilarating highs and heart-wrenching lows that aspiring musicians face. You'll feel like you're rubbing elbows with industry insiders, experiencing the electrifying energy of live performances, and getting a glimpse of the sacrifices and struggles that come with pursuing one's dreams.

Coleman's prose is fresh, honest, and downright addictive. The writing flows effortlessly, drawing you deeper into Carli's world with every page. I found myself rooting for Carli, her dreams, and her undeniable talent. It's refreshing to see a protagonist who is ambitious, determined, and unapologetically herself. Good Morning, Love not only entertains but also tackles important themes, exploring the challenges faced by ambitious women in a world that isn't always kind.

While the chemistry between Carli and Tau is undeniably sizzling, I would have loved to see more development in their relationship. The initial meeting and subsequent sparks felt instantaneous, and I craved a deeper exploration of their connection. A little more build-up and tension would have elevated their romance to even greater heights.

All in all, Good Morning, Love is a smart and timely read that captures the essence of chasing dreams while navigating the complexities of the music industry. Ashley M. Coleman has crafted a story that's as addictive as a catchy pop song, with characters you'll root for and a love story that will leave you grinning from ear to ear. So grab a cup of coffee, put on your favorite playlist, and get ready to be swept away by this fun-filled debut novel.

This took awhile to get into, but it does pick up in the second half. I loved the main character and all her tenacity and fears. I actually could have done without the romance though. I was very anti-Tau and never got around to liking him for Carli. I was more invested in the following her dreams storyline.

If you are into cute romcom, diverse voices, new beginnings, and risking for all, then you will enjoy this book so much. The pace in this book is a bit steady but light and hopeful. More character driven than romance.

Carli wants to follow in her father's footsteps and have a career in the music industry. Ambitious yet practical, she works as a junior marketing executive to pay the bills and pursues her music on the side. Then Carli is assigned to work with R&B superstar Tau. He is immediately taken with her, and Carli reluctantly feels the pull. Carli is determined to stay focused on her professional and personal dreams. Is Carli so focused on her end game that she'll miss her opportunity at love?

I enjoyed this book from the first page to the last. This story has great depth. At its core, Good Morning, Love is the story of Carli's growth, but her romance with Tau is an essential factor in her self-discovery process. The author also deftly weaves gender bias and sexual abuse in the music industry into the story.

I appreciated that Carli and Tau's whirlwind romance isn't without substance. Their relationship develops gradually with a focus on the realness of their love and mutual support.

Good Morning, Love also has a great cast of secondary characters. They are authentic, unique, and relatable. Talia, Carli's ride-or-die bestie, was a favorite of mine. I would love to read more about what happens next for Carli, Tau, and the other characters.

I highly recommend this entertaining story focused on taking chances in life and love.

Thank you to Simon & Schuster for a copy of this book!

I really wanted to like this book, but it was a no for me. I found this book to be pretty slow and difficult to get through. I enjoyed the minority representation in the book, but that’s where the list of things I liked ends.
