This book was just ok. It almost felt like I was reading a YA book. Toni was very immature with the way she treated Cooper. I didn't believe the romance part at all because there was none in the book. Toni and Cooper didn't start there romance until chapter 38 out of 39!

I love the enemy to lover trope and this book had it in spades. Funny and charming characters that I felt drawn to. Although this is book 6 in a series, you can read it without reading the other five first. There was enough content so that you were not lost.

If you are looking for a pure romance, not too saucy but it still has an interesting plot then this book would be perfect for you.
The plot follows Toni who has had unfortunate romances so far, leading to her being used emotionally and has at times led to her possessions like her toaster, from being stolen by her exes. So what better than to try to go for someone who isn't normally her type. But then she meets Cooper who would normally be her type, and Sumner who is not her type- but who she wants to change to date. After a miscommunication with her boss she ends up with the wrong person's phone number, but that person to her is ticking the boxes.
Overall, I enjoyed the wholesome personality that Cooper brings, however, we all have unfirtunately met a Sumner in our lives (for better or most likely for worse). I rather enjoyed the friendship aspect of the story as we see Toni with a great best friend and even better goddaughter who seems like a 60 year old in a 5 year old's body. I would thoroughly recommend this to readers who enjoy Mhairi McFarlane.

This was a cute enemies to lovers book and I really enjoyed it. I'll be reading more Dineen in the future.

For starters, this book is the 6th book in a series but each one is a stand alone book so you do not have to read the others in order to enjoy this book. However, I have heard that you are introduced to the main characters in previous books. I thought this story was so cute and very entertaining. I loved it so much, I am definitely going to be picking up the previous books! As you’re reading this, you can’t help but fall in love with the characters. I definitely recommend this book.

This was a super cute and quick romantic comedy. It was like a Hallmark movie in book form. Though you knew exactly how the book was going to end from the beginning, it was still a fun ride getting there. This is the type of book I pick up in between some of the heavier books I tend to read. I know that this is part of a series that doesn't need to be read in order and I think I'll probably read the rest of the series at some point since this one was cute and fast read.

Thank you to Netgalley, the publisher, Whitney Dineen, ans Melanie Summers for providing me with an ARC of this novel in exchange for an honest review.
Unfortunately I didn't finish this before it was archived but I accessed it via Kindle Unlimited.
When Toni starts "text dating" who she believes to be Sumner however, a mix up occurs and it turns out she's been texting Cooper.
After finding out this news she decides to stop talking to Cooper who still wants to win her over.
Archie, Toni's boss and husband of her best friend devises a plan to help Cooper win her back.

I really enjoyed this book! Especially the Harry Potter costume party!! I wish I'd read it sooner

This was a simple, quick read with some laugh out loud moments and a sweet romance. I enjoyed the character’s bickering and most of their interactions, I just felt a bit lost at times, I guess I should’ve read some of the previous books in the series because I didn’t feel like I really got a deep sense of who any of the characters were.

All in all, an okay read.

Whoa! What a ride. It was very fast-paced. The writing style kept me hooked and I didn't find myself losing any interest. I enjoyed getting to know each of the characters and how real the story felt. The author did a great job painting the setting, so it was easy for me to visualize the scene played out before me. I recommend giving this one a chance!

The writing style wasn't for me, but I see why others would enjoy. Apologies that this review is coming late! The overall plot is good but I struggled a bit with the prose.

Review:
Text and Confused is lighthearted and a fun read. Great palate cleanser and witty to boot.
Summary:
I'm Toni Capella and I'm a bad-man-o-holic. (Hi, Toni!). If a guy lives on the eastern seaboard, is covered in tattoos, muscles, and motor oil, I've probably already dated and dumped him. But it's a new year and for the first time in my twenty-nine years I'm determined to attract Mr. Right. I'm doing this by changing my type and my look.

So when super-hot contractor Cooper Flint walks into my office, I immediately put him on my 'no way' list. He embodies every bad boy trait there is. Besides, my eye is on another new co-worker, Sumner Livingston. Handsome, well-heeled, and professional, Sumner is nothing like my usual type, which I assume makes him perfect for me.

Determined to take things slowly for once, I insist Sumner and I keep our budding relationship separate from work. I even suggest we do our initial courting via text while we get to know each other better. Things are going beautifully and just when I'm starting to think he's 'the one,' I find out there's been a horrible mix-up. My boss accidentally gave me Cooper's number, not Sumner's, and I'm falling for Mr. Wrong, again.

Unfortunately, after I break it off with Cooper, I discover that Sumner isn't the good guy he portrays himself to be. When Cooper rescues me from a compromising situation, I belatedly realize I might be been missing out on the man of my dreams.

Have I lost my chance at true happiness or is there some way I can convince Cooper I'm the woman he needs?

Book received for free through NetGalley

I read about 39% of the way through this book and although I loved the previous one by this author I found I kept putting this down and putting off picking it up. Just a bit too much secondary embarrassment I think. That said it was written well and figured I should submit something. Good if you don’t get embarrassed as easily.

Was lucky to read the book before this one which i lived and this one certainly didnt disappoint. A light hearted, easy read with a good sprinkling of humour.

Toni has not had much luck with dating previoulsy and this time is going to try a different approach. Sumner, a fundraiser , who she meets through work feels like a good match. However she is adamant that any relationship will be taken extremely slowly, starting with texting only. She aks her boss for his phone number and begins her mission which appears to go really well and they make a great match. However, on meeting it appears something is very wrong and Toni has not been texting Sumner at all. Who exactly has she been texting....?

A lovely read with a warm ending, highly recommend.

A delightful and engaging read!

Tori has had a string of bad relationships and decides to make a change. She doesn’t trust herself to make the right choice so she’s going against her better (and often bad) judgment and dating the opposite of what she’s always been attracted to. What starts off as a pleasant light-hearted texting relationship, turns into a scorching case of mistaken identity causing an extremely awkward working environment.

I loved this story so much! Tori is so easily relatable and so hard not to love. She’s a firecracker with a wicked sense of humor, unwavering loyalty and a heart of gold. Tori’s always been a fierce, wise-crackin’ strong woman and in this story, her protective layers are peeled back, showing her vulnerability and insecurities. I saw so much of myself in Tori. When you’ve experienced so many bad relationships, the doubts start to set in: “Why do I always pick wrong?” “What if I am picking wrong now?” “Am I the problem?” It makes a person afraid of their decisions and afraid of taking chances. Tori’s struggles resonated with me greatly and I believe it will with others too.

Cooper is an amazing hero! He’s everything you want in a guy and so much more. I absolutely loved him. If Tori wasn’t going to pick him, she can definitely send him my way! Cooper and Tori had such amazing chemistry every time they were together and it was a complete joy to watch their story unfold.

The secondary characters are vital to the story and were so much fun! Cooper has three older sisters that are fun, overbearing and complex. I really hope they get their own happily ever afters! There’s a lot of page time with Tori’s best friend Holly, her husband (and Tori’s boss) Archie and Holly’s niece Faith, who were in the previous book (Mistle Text: 'Twas the Text Before Christmas …).

Mistle Text is also where we meet Tori for the first time! Tori’s as fiery and wickedly humorous then as she is now. It was so nice to see more of Holly and Archie together. And Faith is the smartest and wisest 6 year old in all of literature, I absolutely love her! There are a few other characters also that had a great presence and influence in the story–and I not-so-secretly hope they get books too! Well, except for Sumner. He can take a long walk off a VERY short pier! Jerk!

I whole-heartedly enjoyed the story. My attention was captured on the first page and I couldn’t turn away from the pages until the very end. Text and Confused is a fun read that will make you laugh, swoon and tug at your heartstrings. I highly recommend this or any books from the authors.

In this beautiful rom-com which I'm scared if i start gushing about how sweet this book was will spoil it for anyone about to read it.
However i would totally totally recommend this book to anyone looking for their next fluffy read. Perfect if you're done reading some heavy stuff or you just love love.

***Thank you to NetGalley, 33 Partners Publishing and Indigo Group, as well as Whitney Dineen and Melanie Summers. I voluntarily read and reviewed this book. All opinions are my own.***

This was a quick, light read based on a misunderstanding. I appreciated that Toni wanted to change the type of man she was dating. I just couldn’t get behind the way she treated Cooper, who had never done a thing to her. I found the end a bit flat and disappointing. I honestly thought Toni and Cooper had better chemistry at the beginning of the book, and I was irritated when Toni wouldn’t let him explain his past with Sumner. It might have made Toni change her mind about Cooper for the right reasons. Instead, she had to hear the truth from Cooper’s friend, and that just made me like Toni a little bit less.

This was a quirky romance book. I loved the slow born aspect of the book but for me it had a bit too much character commentary that took me out of the srory at times. I did enjoy it for the most part.

Text and Confused was a quick and easy read, albeit sometimes confuzzling to me because I found out it was a part of a series after delving in. Although the bantering between main character’s was entertaining, the character development was lacking, and created a pall over my enjoyment.

I received an ARC from the author and publisher in exchange for an honest review.
