This was a really different read for me , but i actually quite enjoyed it!!
For me , it was written in a way where the characters were outspoken , which really cool with the whole concept of present day social media and a murder joined together !!

This book is a great debut cozy mystery. The heroine is interesting and smart, and her friends are fun. The story was convincing and full of twists and turns to keep me engaged, although I did figure it out. Having the main character as a social media expert brings a unique profession to the cozy mystery genre.

A great and fun book. I was off for some time on the NetGalley and I read this book before it so I do not remember a lot of details about this novel despite that I enjoyed it. I recommend it for sure!

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for an electronic copy to read in exchange for an honest review.

Okay so hopefully this is the start of a new series. I love Coco. She is competent and capable and I love when authors write female characters real like this. I'm not so sure about Hudson and Jasper so I'm looking forward to more books where we learn more about them.

The story was very much a cozy mystery type. The author did a great job setting up the characters, background info, and the town without info dumping.

Coco Cline is a social media influencer, now working with others to promote their products and services through the internet. Coco arrives early to a customer meeting, only to find their assistant dead in the back room. Coco begins to look at Stacy’s social media life to put the pieces together about what could have happened.
#FollowMe For Murder was an easy and enjoyable read. The plot felt extremely current and relatable in a word of influencers and “blogger” archetypes in our day to day social media interactions.
#FMFM utilized social media as part of the detective work of the murder mystery, which is an incredibly intuitive and underdone gem in thrillers today.
The romance elements were sweet and I enjoyed the coziness of this read.

I love love loved this book. Burr hits just the right note of a young social media influencer The mystery was solid and I really thought I had figured it out. I didn’t get it quite right, but Burr did - all the clues were there. A must read!

I find the story went off on a slow start as there is too much information given in the get go about Coco but as the plot thickens, I was hooked! The plot is quite predictable though. I managed to figure out who the culprit was quite early on but it’s still fun to see how the story unfolds.

This story follows Coco Cline, a popular social influencer, who now offers advice to others on how to manage their business social media. Her newest clients are Sean and Olivia Chen, who are in the works of opening their new store. All seemed to go well until Coco found their assistant, Stacy, dead in the backroom of their store. Coco thinks Stacy’s death is suspicious and especially so close to the store’s opening day! The police suspect the Chens for foul play but Coco begs to differ as she explored Stacy’s life using her social influence and found clues that could lead to her death. What really happened to Stacy? Can Coco solve the case in time for the Chen's opening?

I love how social media is used here without it being too overbearing for the plot. I find Coco’s job very interesting especially what she does behind the scenes of social media. To be fair, I didn’t have much faith in this story line and I couldn’t see how Coco’s role can help solve a murder but I’m relieved that she managed to pull it off! I did find Coco’s character to be obnoxious and self-absorbed at times but I overlooked her flaws due to the nature of her job. She actually had some pretty clever ideas!

Thank you Netgalley and Level Best Books for the arc.

i was expecting to find coco to be an annoying character. maybe because of the influencer, maybe because of the name, maybe because in this type of book the mc trying to help the police usually just messes things up even more. but that didn't happened here. i actually cared for her as a character and was engaged in the storyline.

Whoa! What a ride. It was very fast-paced. The writing style kept me hooked and I didn't find myself losing any interest. I enjoyed getting to know each of the characters and how real the story felt. The author did a great job painting the setting, so it was easy for me to visualize the scene played out before me. I recommend giving this one a chance!

Super cute book! I enjoyed it a lot.

I liked that the book was geared toward my generation, in that the character is a blogger that became famous through that platform. Most of the time cozy mysteries are about bakeries, book stores, and crafts, which I love, but this was a breath of fresh air.

I also liked that this main character was already in a stable relationship. He's completely devoted to her. Usually we see love triangles in cozies so this was fresh too!

I'll be continuing on with this series!

This book got off to a slow start, thanks partially to a data dump first chapter that gave us lots of background on Coco. After that, it began to build, and by the end, I was hooked, wanting to see how Coco would piece everything together. The clues she gathered along the way helped make the ending logical. I absolutely loved the characters. Everyone was strong, and I can’t wait to hang out with Coco and her friends again. I am curious where Coco’s relationship with her boyfriend is going – I feel like they both have some maturing to do. I love the way that the internet and social media were used in the story without overwhelming it. I even laughed at how it was included a time or two. I will be following this series to see what happens to Coco next.

I am a HUGE fan of cozy mysteries and I really enjoyed #followmeformurder.

Coco is a great character and amateur sleuth. The secondary characters were also fantastic. There was enough action and twists to keep me engaged.

This is the first book in a ew series and I look forward to more adventures with Coco and her friends. I

This falls under the category of lighter cozy mysteries. We have a young, good looking and self-made woman who finds herself in the middle of a murder investigation when it occurs in her client's shop.
Coco is an enterprising woman. She has found a niche that I would have otherwise poo-poohed if not for the presentation here. For a job that adds frills to the presentation of other companies/organizations, her work ethic is shown as streamlined and effective. She has ideas, and she ensures that they are implemented. More than the mystery part of the narrative, I think it was this presentation of the surrounding lifestyle that helped me read this in a few short sittings.
Coco is trying to boost one part of her job. Her client is a couple who want to start a fancy store with unique items, and Coco is helping them get it off the ground. The wife tends to lose control and go manic, while the husband is a foil to her mood swings. At this point, I must admit that they later tell us that she is undergoing fertility sessions which obviously would have impacted her moods. Although this nugget is dropped, the author continues to treat her as a crazy person with bad mood swings without connecting the two, which left a sour taste in my mouth.
The mystery itself begins in a straightforward manner. The investigators are local, as is Coco, and she has to help wrap things up so that her clients can have the grand opening they want.
I guessed the culprit quite early on, and I would comment on why the others in the storyline didn't, but that would give away a lot more than I want to. On the positive side, the relationship between Coco and her boyfriend was quite unique (even with the jealousy angle rearing up one too many times). She wants him to propose, mostly because it is the thing to happen, but what he does or doesn't do fits in with the plotline.
Overall, I might read the next book in the series before making up my mind. I am giving this one three stars out of five with hopes of reading the next.
I received an ARC thanks to NetGalley and the publishers, but the review is entirely based on my own reading experience.

Coco is a lovable heroine who keeps her friend group close, loves her family, and is still dealing with the side effects of overnight fame and wealth. I could have done without all the descriptions of her getting dressed / putting on makeup, but that’s not really my scene anyway. She sleuths smartly, as far as being careful and not butting into the police investigation unrealistically as any self-respecting Nancy Drew fan would have lol. She was very self absorbed
The author has taken on a fresh theme. Police use the internet to solve crimes but these officers and staff have nowhere near the knowledge and capability of Coco. She does try to share everything she can with the cops but are they really following through..
Coco’s boyfriend Hudson is the main point of contention for me with this book. I couldn’t get a good read on his character (metaphorically and literally), and while he does seem to love Coco there were some red flags that made me worry about his faithfulness a little bit. Even when Hudson appears to prove himself, the author built in just enough uncertainty (whether on purpose or not) to keep me giving him the side eye.
I enjoyed the story but it hasn’t blown me away. I really did like the idea of an influencer also being an amateur sleuth, it’s definitely different from, let’s say, a bookshop owner. But in the end Coco was a bit too self-centered for my liking. A lot of her actions were only because she could also benefit from it. She sometimes did seem too realize this but she didn’t do anything to prevent it from happening again. As for the plot, I did want to know who was the murderer and while I didn’t see the reveal coming, it didn’t give me the major plot twist vibes either.

I finished the book but it was a bit slow for me because I felt like the story plot was a bit generic for my taste. I wish there was more into it for the character development but there wasn't much and that was a huge break for me. 3 stars!

I DNF'd this book about 25% in. I just couldn't get into it and it felt very juvenile or like something I have already read. I cannot place why it wasn't for me but it just wasn't, I was intrigued but not intrigued enough. However, I am not one for the contemporary cheesiness that this thriller has.

This was such a fun and entertaining read. It was a fun following along Coco trying to solve the murder. I loved Coco’s character and she had the best supporting characters. The book was full of mystery and twists and I really enjoyed the ending. This was the first book of a series, and I can’t wait to see what the author comes up with next. If you are a fan of cozies then I would suggest giving this book a read!
