The intentions were good - but the execution very poor.
Danielle Tanner wanted to tackle too many issues while spreading the gospel. Sometimes less is more. Guilt and forgiveness, second chances, manipulation within the church and during a TV competition, human trafficking and unethical experiments, living as an immigrant, insecurities as a teenager, Covid 19.....that's probably not all and all these issues are important.
The interspersed bible stories don't make much sense within the novel, the police work is abysmal, the criminals are just dump.
I guess the author doesn't know much about teenagers. A 14-year-old girl living in London doesn't know what periods are? Seriously?
The writing style is also quite poor. The author needs to learn to connect sentences and to use subordinate clauses.
My advice: write bible stories for children. They might love them.

This book had great intention however the output does not meet these expectations. The author has tried to do to much at once therefore it feels like it's a wealthy of to much information rather than a story. Understanding her need for religious context having mulit diffrent context of world issues hasn't worked well unfortunately.

What a page turner, I was unable to put this book down. It is inspiring and such a reminder of community caring for each other. The constant reminder of Biblical truthsand stories is refreshing, as is the reminder that God uses dreams to speak to us today as much a ever.
