The fact that I read this on audiobook totally doubled my enjoyment of this book! The accents and humor were extremely well done. This cute and upbeat rom com is totally closed door, so if you're looking for a light romance that will make you laugh and smile along with the characters, but you don't want any spicy scenes, this is a great option to pick up. If you like accents, then you will enjoy this book!

A quick work trip/vacay combo takes an interesting turn for the main character when she wakes up next to a local. She's coming off a relationship and not really looking for attachments of any kind. But he's got a cute dog and an even cuter accent and personality. This friends to lovers romp is slow, but is full of humor! A great summer read/listen!

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for allowing me to read this book in exchange for an honest review.

The movie Leap Year, is one of my favorite movies, so when I read the synopsis for this book, I was very excited to read it. However, I didn't love it. I felt like the pacing was really slow and I didn't really relate or care about what happened to the characters. Sadly, this book just wasn't for me.

As someone who loves the movie leap year, I knew that I had to listen to this story, and I am so glad that I did. It was definitely a story that I thought was super cute from start to finish. I will say that I was hoping for a little bit more of pinning or almost tension before the buildup of the relationship, and that I did wish that they would just talk through their issues from the beginning but I also know that isnt always how relationships go. Anyways I thought overall this was just a fun and cute read. I definitely think there are things I wish played out differently but overall I enjoyed the story and would recommend to anyone that loves reading about love abroad or just want to read something sweet and fun between heavier reads.

3.5
This is a decent book. It’s got a few little twists here and there and I think that a lot of people will really love this one. I wasn’t the biggest fan but at the same time it wasn’t bad.
Cara Kennedy was supposed to take a trip to Ireland with her boyfriend but when said boyfriend becomes an ex she still takes the trip. Cara is a fledgling screenwriter who lives in Malibu California. When she arrives in Ireland she has just a few things in mind. Sightseeing, forget the ex, and drink some good Irish whiskey. However, she finds herself completely caught up in the Irish Leap Day tradition of women proposing to the men and the next morning she finds herself married.
With her flight in just four hours and with her having the most important meeting of her career in just two days she figures there is nothing she can do but take her new husband and his dog back to LA with her and try to sort out the mess she made of her life.
That’s the gist of it. Then a lot of stuff happens, ups and downs, little issues and big, that lead to the ending that I’m not going to tell you about.
The story was good and mostly well written but there were a few little things that got a little bit repetitive. Specifically the reminder of the Irish accent by saying that the words rolled off his tongue like they were one word, then the words repeated but like one word. That and at time the obvious were stated and then explained. Other than that the story had a nice flow to it and the ending was good.
I would definitely recommend reading this as opposed to listening to the audio book. The narrator is fantastic but not so much for the accent bits. If you don’t mind accents that come and go then the audio book should be just fine for you. I just say to read it because then you can add your own “accent” by how you think the accent would sound, if that makes sense. Still the narrator's voice is great for Cara.
All in all this wasn’t bad and you may find that you really like it so for that I would recommend giving it a shot.

I am such a sucker for an Irish accent, so this book was right up my alley and I loved the aspect of the Leap Day tradition and I loved the forced proximity romance. This was a great read and an even better listen via audiobook. Definitely would recommend. 4.5 stars rounded down.

This story was sooo freaking cute! It was everything I wanted and more! I read it on a perfectly cool and rainy day and knew I must finish it in one sitting!

While friends to lovers is probably my least favourite trope, this book makes it work without the longing to upchuck my previous meal!

Finn is absolutely my new book boyfriend and I do no care what people have to say otherwise.

If you want a book that you can clutch to your chest and go aweeee this is the one for you!

Lucky Leap Day was oh so cute. It was sickenly sweet, laugh out loud funny, and of course has the HEA we are all looking for. There were mentions of *adult time* but it was all closed door. The romance between the two MCs was so cute and movie perfect. If you want something quick, lighthearted, and with a HEA definitely give this one a try!

The idea of Lead Day has always been so romantic to me. I think it was sweet and funny how it was depicted in this book. Cara is in Dublin after getting her heart broken and meets sexy local Finn. He shows her parts of Dublin that normal tourists do not see. With a bit too much Whiskey, she proposes and they get married. The romance in this was so perfect. Finn is that cinnamon roll you just love. This reminded me of the movie Leap Year a bit and I loved that too. Isn't this cover so cute too! Thank you to NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for the audio ARC of this in exchange for my honest review.

Cara came to Ireland looking to mend her broken heart and came home with a husband? Assistant by day and screenwriter by night, now she needs to figure out how to get herself out of this leap year problem while landing the job to move her up in the ranks. But Cara soon finds being around Finn, her Irish hunk and his sweet dog, motives her to want more.

I enjoyed this marriage mess. Stopping a conversation mid way through, some of the chapter placements were a little strange to me, . This relationship built throughout and didn't seem like a couple that didn't have a chance. And who can turn down an Irish accent, yum, making this a delightful audiobook read.

A light-hearted fluffy romcom for anyone who loves Ireland, dogs, and perfect gentleman. The story begins on the morning after Leap Day, as Cara wakes up and realizes she married Finn the night before at a pub. How did Cara manage to marry a stranger during her short three-day visit to Ireland? She has no idea; blame it on the whiskey!

There are a lot of charming moments in this book. The main character has firm goals, and seems to be well-rounded. The characterization of Cara's love interest, Finn, is where I get a little lost. He was just too perfect. A great guy through and through with no interesting back story or complicated emotions. Handsome, kind, talented, loving. I don't think he could get any more cliché if he was also the guitarist in a band. Oh, wait...he was that, too. He had no real challenges, which made it difficult for me to get close to him a as a character. Nobody is that good. All. The. Time. Regardless, it was charming and sweet, and the audio narration was done well!

3.5 stars rounded up for Lucky Leap Day

I’m a sucker for anything involving Ireland ever since I traveled there in 2017. Our MC, Cara, takes a solo trip to Ireland, one she had originally planned with her boyfriend. While playing tourist, she falls for a cute local: Finn. On the morning of her last day in the country, she wakes up next to Finn..married. What follows is how to two navigate their new marriage

What worked (for me):

-the setting; I loved the dual settings of Dublin and LA
-the narration: it was really well done
-Julia: she was a kick-ass bestie

What Didn’t Work (for me):
-a little predictable
-the random POV of the epilogue

Recommended if you like:
-a light, fun romcom
-vacation romances
-whiskey
-witty banter
-the movies Leap Year and/or PS I Love You

Thank you to NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for the ALC. Lucky Leap Day is out now!

Another romance book that I loved to consume via audiobook.

Cara Kennedy heads to Ireland on the vacation that was intended for her and her ex boyfriend. She decides she can't undo it, so she might as well go and from a pick up from a very handsome Irish guy via uber at the airport to running into him in various places she is loving the vacation until the last morning of vacation when she wakes up in his bed and they have makeshift wedding bands! They head back to LA because maybe they can get unmarried there and she has meetings she must take to move her career along and just maybe they will actually fall in love.

This was such a fun ride and I loved the narrator. She did a great job of narrating both Cara and and Finn's voices. I loved her voice for Cara, it gave me such a good view of Cara as a fun American in Ireland trying to enjoy a vacation. And she managed to get an Irish accent done without it sounding overacted or cheesy!

This book was a great companion during a weekend of household chores and projects and it made me want to keep on reading the romance in this way!

I was thoroughly enchanted with this book. I found the characters too be likeable and the story entertaining. Also, I loved the epilogue!

I was hoping for a more Ireland in this book. There was so little of it and then they come back to Cali. The narrator was fine but I got annoyed with the accent she had for Finn. He sounded more like a caricature of an Irish man. Just a little disappointed with this one.

A girl wakes up married to a musician.

What happens next? I cannot tell you.

Normally it takes a bit of time to get into a story, but for this one, it never captivated me. I could not even tell you what makes the main characters different from other romance books except Finn’s Irish accent.

I am not saying this was bad, I am just saying there was not a single oomph to make the story remarkable. It could still make a good book for someone who does not want to think.

I had the audiobook and had to put it at 1,25x because the narrator spoke so slowly. If you want to read it, actually read the book, do not listen to it.

A cute "woke up married" romance, Ann Marie Walker playfully slips many of our favorite tropes into Lucky Leap Day.

Cara and Finn make a cute couple from their very first meeting, and the early scenes of the two in Dublin are wonderful! Once they make their way to Los Angeles I felt like they lost some of their connection, but it's still nice to see how they find their way to happily ever after.

Audio nicely performed by Cady Zuckerman. Ms. Zuckerman's joyful narration adds so much to Cara's character, and her lilting Irish brogue is just the thing for Finn.

Lucky Leap Day was a cute and fluffy rom-com. The characters were fine, and their relationship was cute. My only issue with the book is that it lacks the character development and relationship development that make a romance great. I enjoyed this book, and I would read another book in this universe, but it's not one of my favorite rom coms.

Cute story about finding love in the most unexpected way. Cara goes on a trip to Ireland broken hearted but returns with a husband. The story is a fast paced listen about Cara and Finn’s relationship after meeting in Ireland.

The narrator was great and I loved the Irish voice used for Finn. Who wouldn’t fall for an Irish accent?
