This story was so cute that I could not put it down. This story follows Cara as she goes off on her own to Dublin after her boyfriend dumped her to weekend before their trip. When she arrives she meet Finn as her Uber driver she then runs in to him again as a tour guide so they decide to go out on leap year night with a group of his friends. In Ireland there is a tradition of the woman proposing after many whiskeys Cara feels like this is a great idea. They get married in the bar. When she wakes up the next morning a few hours before her flight she realizes she’s married and they need to figure out how to annual the marriage so Finn agrees to go to LA with Cara so they can sort it out. The story continues to follow the two as the get to know each other and decide wether to end things or to stay married.

I listened to the audiobook for this one and loved the narrator she did a great Irish accent and kept it easy to tell who was speaking. I just really liked the idea of this story the Irish traditions and the reverse rolls were great and it also went into some Irish history that was really entertaining. The only thing was for it being a romance book it was a little light on the romance.I also just have to say I loved the epilogue told from the dogs perspective it was just to cute. I would like to thank Netgalley and the publishers for the chance to read this book and look forward to picking up more in the future.

A heartwarming romance for fans of the movie Leap Day. Awesome characters who grow a lot through Cara Kennedy's whiskey-driven leap day proposal and marraige. I loved seeing how Cara and Finn genuinely get to know each other and more through the course of the book. All in all there's a great clean romance, an adorable dog, and even some education on Irish history.

Thank you to Netgalley and Dreamscape Media for the advanced audiobook!

If you’re looking for the perfect fast-paced Rom-Com, look no further! This is a funny, light-hearted, cute, love-at-first-sight, happily-ever-after you’re looking for. Yes, there is the usual drama and rocky road at times, but it is an incredibly enjoyable book.

The premise of the book is about Cara’s journey to Ireland, where she ends up waking up after a wild night married to an Irishman, Finn. He follows her back to California while they work through their current situation, only have a few surprises thrown their way. I loved the little Irish history thrown in (and was absolutely fascinated by the story of Grace Gifford Plunkett), as well as the Hollywood drama. To top it all off, it has an incredibly humorous epilogue, which I love as I’m always wanting a little more after these sweet books. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💫

This was just released on the 18th, so hurry to your local book store for your copy now! Thank you #NetGalley for the #audiobook in exchange for a #bookreview. This was just what I needed right now and I am incredibly thankful.

Lucky me for discovering Lucky Leap Day and getting to listen to this charming book! Like the movie Cara is in Ireland for Leap Day. She brings home a souvenir that won't fit in her checked bag: a handsome Irish husband and his adorable pup!

I loved that this book had two parts: travel adventure and accidental newly weds at home learning to navigate. This was sweet and I loved the accents the narrator did.

Whiskey can lead to many things - hangovers are one, husbands are another!

Cara Kennedy, a wannabe screenwriter, is in Ireland, trying to make the best of things, after some mishaps, she is befriended by her Sexy, handsome, (with a toe-curling accent) uber driver and goes on the ride of her life! She decides when in Rome, when in Ireland, she will kick back, let her hair down, go to a pub, dance to some music, drink some whiskey, get caught up in the Irish tradition of women proposing to men and well, wakes up with a husband!

This book is the fun, comical end result of having one too many. But what to do now???? She's married, due to return home and has no idea where to go from here (except home, of course)!

This is a fun light read that had me grinning from ear to ear. Sure, there was one part that had me thinking "Oh, come on...Seriously" but that didn't last. I enjoyed their journey and the book. It's cute, it's light, and entertaining. You may have books (or watched television shows) with accidental marriages, but do they ever get old? Not for me.

A whirlwind trip to Ireland, some mishaps, some whisky, and a marriage.

Charming, cute, and fun!

Thank you to Dreamscape Media and NetGalley who provided me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. All the thoughts and opinions are my own.

If you're looking for a romance that's similar to the movie Leap Year, I don't think I'd recommend this book. The story is marketed as friends to lovers, but everything happens way too quickly to for that to be an accurate description. It's more cheesy insta-love. If you're looking for something quick and "cute", maybe you'll like this.

Quick and easy listen. Cute story and quite enjoyable if you don't question any of the details but just go along for the ride!

“𝙳𝚎𝚜𝚙𝚎𝚛𝚊𝚝𝚎 𝚝𝚒𝚖𝚎𝚜 𝚌𝚊𝚕𝚕𝚎𝚍 𝚏𝚘𝚛 𝚊𝚜𝚜𝚑𝚘𝚕𝚎 𝚖𝚎𝚊𝚜𝚞𝚛𝚎𝚜.”

I absolutely adored this romcom. It was quirky and sweet. I’ve been on an Irishmen kick lately so of course I was absolutely swooning over Finn. This story is quite a journey packed into a quick little read. I mean can you imagine waking up one morning and finding out that you’re married?! Oops! In addition to all of these wonderful things is an absolutely adorable epilogue from a surprise character!

I remind you when picking up romcoms that they are supposed to be kind of a wild ride, with some far-fetched ideas and predictability. If you’re looking for something charming, funny and fluffy than you should definitely pick this one up.

Thank you Netgalley and Dreamscape Media for the advanced audio. Cary Zuckerman did a wonderful job narrating this story and nailed the Irish accent for Finn. Lucky Leap Day is now available!!

This was my first book by this author. I was fortunate enough to receive an audio book by NetGalley. The narrator did a great job with the different accents from Irish to American very well. Nice voice and easy to listen to.

I received this ARC through #netgalley and I am voluntarily reviewing this book.

I started off really enjoying this novel. Chapter 1 waking up hungover and married. Then backtracking to the events that lead to it. I loved those chapters of her exploring alone and fate. But around 40-50% of the way through the book I became disconnected. The entire plot moves to LA and them choosing not to discuss the idea of a divorce. Around chapter 20 I became engaged in the story again and seeing how it all played out in the end, but just was never as wowed, as those first chapters. I believe it was well written and the author did well. I guess just based on the synopsis I’d hoped the story stayed more overseas instead of being largely about their time in LA.

I would give this book a higher rating if it wasn't for the last quarter of the book. The whole premise of this book is cheesy, but it worked for most of the book. It was the last part of this book that was just too over the top for me. Especially the epilogue, which was cute but way too predicatable and cheesy.

Overall, I enjoyed this book, but it's not one that I'm likely to re-read.

“Glad you enjoy my accent, luv, but I can think of a lot better ways to use my mouth than talking.” 🥵

Cara Kennedy was supposed to vacation in Ireland with her boyfriend, except they break up right before the trip. So Cara goes it alone, thinking she’ll bring home a plethora of wool sweaters as souvenirs and drink way too much beer while she’s there. What she didn’t plan on was waking up with a tin foil wedding band and coming home with a husband…

Five star Finn (McGuire, and his Irish green eyes) may just be my new book boyfriend. This was such a fun, light hearted read and a wonderful escape from life’s current events. I have always wanted to visit Ireland, now even more so!

The audio was fantastic. The narrator did a great job with the accents and really giving these characters life. I really enjoyed listening to this story.

Thank you to Netgalley, Dreamscape Media, Sourcebooks, and the author for the ARC and ALC in exchange for an honest review.

Did you know my daughter is a Leap Day Baby? It’s true! She was even featured on the news that day for being one of 5 babies born on leap day that year! A true diva from the start.

So naturally when I saw this book titles Lucky Leap Day and it was a romance, I knew I needed it in my life! And I am so happy I have it a listen!

It starts off in Ireland and some leap day shenanigans lead to a whole other adventure! Sometimes things fall apart, so better things can fall together. This story is a lot about taking chances and opportunity that come your way, and finding and staying true to yourself. The hero is sweet and swoon worthy, and I absolutely adored the epilogue, it had me smiling from ear to ear.

I would definitely recommend this one, and the audio was wonderful. My first audio with Cady Zuckerman, and I really enjoyed it.

All around a great read!

Most definitely a whirlwind romance just as described and a fun one at that - if you are into a fun cute romance with some Irish history, sights and accent mixed in to give you that escapist read don’t miss this one.
Insta-love is not usually one of my preferred romcom tropes but with the travel bit added in it kind of made sense here and definitely worked for this story. The film world/Hollywood part of the story felt quite a bit further away from reality and I was shortly annoyed by everything falling into place a little to easily really quite far- fetched but I read romcom because it is relaxing and fun and this is definitely a fun relaxation read. This isn’t literary fiction and it’s not meant to open deep discussions it’s just a fun, heartwarming, and charming story of love, and finding out what makes you happy. And it is a good one, so if you are looking for a palate cleanser or a relaxation read, now or in February even if it isn’t a leap year. I listened to the audio and the narrator did an excellent job with Finn’s Irish accent.
This was a fun, sweet closed door romantic comedy.
The narration was very well done and the Irish accent was well captured. It enhanced my enjoyment !
Thank you to NetGalley and DreamscapeMedia for providing me with an advance listener copy in exchange for an honest review !

This romanctic comedy had me laughing and smiling all the way through the story.
When a whirlwind trip to Ireland is supposed to end with a suitcase full of wool sweaters and souvenir pint glasses Cara is in for a huge surprise when she wakes up with a husband she just met. I am a sucker for a story with some kind of marriage trope involved, and the use of accidental marriage was so perfect for this story.

After one-too-many whiskeys Cara gets caught up in the Irish tradition of women proposing on Leap Day. A hopefully thought that it could have all been a dream is sent up in smoke when she wakes the next morning to find out her having married a random man actually happened.

They decide to work things out stateside, so Finn and his dog accompany Cara to LA. Finn spends his days going on auditions and his nights charming his new bride, leaving Cara to wonder whether this is real love, or if Finn is another aspiring actor just after her Hollywood connections? With limited time on his tourist visa, will Finn be able to convince Cara that she’s the right girl for him, or will time run out on their Hollywood ending?

Thank you NetGalley for an arc of this audiobook.

This book was a cute, fast listen. I enjoyed the narrator for the most part (a few of the voices for certain people were kind of strange)

The book is told from Kara’s POV.

I liked both of the MC’s but I wanted more chemistry. I wasn’t a huge fan of the fact that they both lied about different things.

This kind of reminded me a little tiny bit of the book Roomies by Christina Lauren.

I was not a fan of the epilogue. I won’t spoil it, but why did it have to be told from that specific POV?

Rating: 3.25/5

Feb. 29, 2024. This is the next time Leap Day comes around and you can bet that I will be in Ireland. If Cara can go, get drunk and wake up with a husband as swoon-worthy as Finn then you can bet I'm doing the same thing. This was such a cute story! It's one of those where your mind just escapes and you just get lost in the lives of the characters. It's funny and adventurous and maybe a bit unbelievable at times, but overall thoroughly enjoyable. It's one of those that you just smile the whole way through.

The narrator did a fantastic job with this, and thank goodness she could do an Irish brogue, because that just adds to the story so much more. I would have loved to see this be dual POV with an Irish male narrator and some open door romance scenes, but overall I'd still probably read this again, and of course recommend to my friends.

The luck of the Irish. Just when she thought her week couldn’t possibly get better she meets Finn. When things take a turn for the worse could they turn around for the better? The whole story unfolds as the story moves from Ireland to The United States. What is all the hype about Leap Day you ask? Just read it for yourself, I promise you won’t be disappointed!

The premise of the book hooked me, but I found the overall storyline a bit cliche and predictable, and the drama in the last quarter contrived. It was a quick, light read, though, and I did enjoy all the movie references. Also, the narrator did a terrific job voicing each of the characters.
