This story was SO fun!

Far fetched at times? For sure...but it worked! I love when an author leans into providing a good time to the reader without over-complicating stories or their characters relationships. Ann Marie Walker totally nailed that here and I just loved my trip to Ireland in the pages of this book.

I do think we could have had more of Finn's POV, but all in all this was a sweet read, one that I had a hard time putting down and will definitely be recommending to others!

Sweet, low angst, closed door, romance. The cute cover complete with Oscar the dog invites you to read this feel good book. Cara takes a weekend trip to Dublin. Her boyfriend who she was supposed to be with dumps her two weeks before. On day one she meets Uber driver Finn Maguire, a sweet talking Irish man. While site-seeing she runs into Finn again and ends up drinking at a pub where he is performing. She wakes up the morning after realizing she has a few hours to catch her flight back to California and that she is married to Finn.

Cara is an assistant at a talent agency, paying her dues and hopes to be a screen play writer. With Finn and Oscar (his dog) sharing her small Malibu bungalow she needs to figure out how to get out of her marriage and move forward with her career. But playing house with Finn is very fun.

This is silly and fun. The first half flew for me and the second half slowed down a little as things got a little more far-fetched. It is told from Cara's POV and at times I was frustrated at how little I knew about Finn. But I knew I was going to be in favor of the HEA. The epilogue told from the dogs POV was brilliant and funny. I listened to the audio book and the narration by Cady Zuckerman enhance the story. Especially her Irish accent for Finn. Thank you NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for an audiobook in exchange for an honest review. (3.5 stars)

Lucky Leap Day by Ann Marie Walker is a lighthearted romcom about a woman who goes to Ireland and proposes to the guitarist in a bar on Leap Day. I loved the atmosphere and the meet cute, as well as the pace of the story. There were a couple of moments where I thought it was slow, but overall I devoured the book and really enjoyed it. 4.5*

On a long weekend to Ireland, Cara gets caught up in an Irish tradition of women proposing on Leap Day. Agreeing that it will be easier to divorce if they are in the same country, Cara convinces Finn, her new husband to come home to LA with her while thy get this sorted out. But as they spend more time together, feelings become real - but will they be able to figure out their feelings before Finn’s travel visa expires?

This story is so fun! It definitely feels a bit far-fetched at times, but the wild adventures lead to a sweet romance with some hilarious moments. This book is so different from the many romcoms I’ve read before and I loved the Leap Day storyline! I was definitely rooting for this couple the whole time. This one is closed-door so my friends who don’t love the steamier books, this is a perfect romcom for you!

I especially loved the audiobook for one key reason: the Irish accent, It was amazing!

Thanks to Dreamscape Media for the advanced copy!

Lucky Leap Day by Ann Marie Walker and audiobook narrated by Cady Zuckerman is a wonderful, hilarious, contemporary romance that involves Ireland, surprise entanglements, and Leap Day!

I really enjoyed this entertaining, funny, and quick-witted romance. So much happened within this story.

It starts off in Ireland, but after a surprise marriage between LA-living Cara and the adorable Irish Finn, we are transported to California (reality) and we get to see how this Leap-Day female driven marriage evolves.

Initial back flashes to the questionable coupling begin, then we get to go along for the ride while we see Cara and Finn’s relationship evolve as they get to know one another, explore each other’s personalities and pasts, and try to find a future not just together, but also for themselves.

It was funny, sarcastic, enjoyable, unique, and also romantic. I enjoyed the original spin added to the “accidental commitment “ concept, and it really made it feel fresh. I also liked Cara and Finn, separately as characters, as well as together. Their chemistry was evident. I also enjoyed the last chapters! (I will let the reader discover the cuteness for themselves.)

During a whirlwind trip to Ireland, Cara finds herself married to an Irishman after a rowdy Leap Day at the pub. Finn returns with her home to Los Angeles to figure out how to sort out their marriage.

This was a light hearted, closed-door romance set between Dublin and LA. As a gal who loves all things Irish, I was hooked at the Irish accents (recommend the audiobook!) and references to the Emerald Isle. Finn is a charming male lead and I enjoyed watching his and Cara's romance evolve throughout the story. The epilogue from Finn's dog's perspective is hilarious and may just be my favorite part of the book.

There's not a ton of depth, but pick this up if you want a fun, escapist book, or if you're a fan of the movies Leap Year or PS I Love You.

Thank you Dreamscape Media for my audiobook copy in exchange for an honest review.

Up-and-coming screenwriter Cara Kennedy has the biggest meeting of her career in two days—but for now, she's on vacation. Her short trip to Ireland is all planned out

This was a fun, enjoyable closed door romance from the author who brought us Happy Singles Day (one of my favorites from last year). After recently getting dumped, Cara travels to Ireland where she meets Finn, a hot jack of all trades (uber driver, musician, wannabe actor). After a drunken Leap day mistake the two wind up married and decide to sort things out back in LA where Cara has to get back to her job and aspirations of becoming a screenwriter.

I enjoyed how the book opens on the day after and then we get to go back and see how Cara and Finn met. Then we get to see how their romance evolves as they live together in LA. Great on audio narrated by Cady Zuckerman (a new to me narrator). Perfect for fans of the movies PS I love you, Leap year or the books Would like to meet or Roomies. Much thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for my advance review copies!

Lucky Leap Day was super cute! It’s a fairly short book, it was a super fast read. No filler chapters it’s just the story and is fast paced. It’s got lots of great things, a hero with a gorg Irish accent, a cute dog, an accidental marriage, only one bed! This is definitely a clean romance, zero spice, all you get is kissing. If you like a sweet lighthearted romcom I would recommend this! The book will be released 1/17/22!
