The horror of grief is one of my favorite horror subgenres; I've said this many times before. It's something that can be explored in so many different ways. I'm also a sucker for zombie novels, especially ones that explore the more human aspect of a zombie apocalypse, so I was excited to dig into this novel.

I did enjoy this book, but not as much as I had hoped. It's a decent read, but I found a lot of it to be more simple than I had hoped. It was just a bit too surface-level in its emotions, and I actually found myself skimming through the flashback chapters as they just didn't hold my interest. I actually think this book would be better suited for a movie, and that a lot of the elements may translate better through that kind of visual medium.

A unique twist to the zombie genre. While I went in expecting horror, what I got was more like a trip into melancholy and dread. Its not my cup of tea but I recommend it for those looking for dreary horror.

Zombie stories are pretty much one in the same for me. With all the living dead movies and various walking dead series on TV, you pretty much know what’s going to happen. Till Undeath Do Us Part isn’t your average zombie story. Sure there’s your fill of canabalistic “living”-dead people, but it’s not the main storyline here. Like the title eludes to, it’s more of the love story, actually the ending to the love story, of Jack and Linda. Grief horror is one of my fave sub-genres so I had to pick this one up. My only grief (see what I did there?) with this one is that while there was some suspense/action to this one, there wasn’t much and I was kind of bored at times. All in all, I gave it a 3⭐️ and would recommend if you’re looking for a quick grief horror read. Thank you to the author, publisher and @netgalley for my review copy.

Till Death Do Us Part is the story of Jack and his wife Linda. It’s a zombie romance tale. It wasn’t scary, it was just really sad. I enjoyed it. The writing is good and does well with character descriptions of past and present. I enjoyed this and would recommend.

Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for an ARC of Till Undeath Do Is Part by Boris Bacic!

This is a zombie love story and how far one man will go to save his partner. It also asks you that question. Would you kill your soul mate if they became a zombie or try to save them? I loved this book. I thought it would be more horror, but it was a love story, plain and simple. There is some very descriptive imagery for anyone sensitive to that. I will definitely read more books by Boris Bacic.

Thank you so much to the publisher and NetGalley for this arc!!

I don't know why I've never read this book and I regret it took me so long to discover this. I really liked it and honestly this book was sad instead of being dark. This story was about Jack and Linda and the zombie apocalypse. As the title suggests, it is till undeath do they part...

I genuinely enjoyed this book. It was a beautifully written book that went between the love story of Jack and Linda and modern day life for Jack. I’m not going to lie, this book was more sad than scary. However, it doesn’t deter from the overall enjoyability of the book

This one really disappointed me unfortunately. I was hoping for some scares or some darkness to it, but it had neither one. Instead a character who may have just been depressed.

The flashbacks with Jack and wife Linda were promising at first, but things started going nowhere, and I felt stuck, questioning if I should just end it or not. But I don't like DNF'ing so I kept going. Just wish the book went somewhere..

What can I say about Till Undeath Do Us Part?

Well, first of all, it might be the saddest horror book I've ever read. I didn't find it scary, or even unsettling. Jack was simply sad. And kinda stupid. We'll get to the stupid part later.

This book features flashbacks to showcase the relationship between Jack and his wife Linda. We get to see their first date, and meeting the parents, and the wedding and other small glimpses. Everything to underline how amazingly in love these two people were. We also get flashbacks of the beginning of the Zombie Apocalypse, when Linda was still alive.

The present in the book however, features Jack alone. Jack looking at fences, Jack counting supplies. And jack feeding chicken to his zombie wife chained up in the spare bedroom.

And this is the stupid part. While Jack's story is usually not the Main Character of a Zombie book, we've seen this kind of behavior from side characters. Mad men keeping their wives, husbands or children chained up and feeding. Jack however, isn't mad in that sense, isn't sacrificing humans to his loved ones. He's just an overall OK dude.

So what is he doing? He's feeding chickens to his wife. Trying to rehabilitate her back to normal. And that's okay, in an he's-a-little-crazy kind of way. But everything in the book, all the tension, was "he's running out of chickens, what will he do now to feed Linda?"

And the stupid part? He used to have a rooster, he had roosters and chickens. And since the Zombies in this book would happily eat animals, if he'd kept the rooster alive, he'd have an endless supply of new chicks to give his wife.
But no, no no, he brought the rooster to his dead wife, since the rooster was her favorite, and she ate it. It was how he found out she could eat animals. But still, if you're going to try to keep your zombie wife alive, trying to give them live animals seems to be like the first step.

But maybe I'm being too harsh on poor old Jack. He was in shock, he was traumatized and in denial over an event that had just happened. But still, he had the perfect setup, and he fucked it up.

So the story starts, with Jack having to make a trip into town to find Linda something to eat.

The one thing this book did for me however, was find a line in the sand that is unacceptable in my relationship. Jack crossed it, he did the ultimate sin, and I'll be having this conversation with my husband later. And if you're married to your soulmate, maybe you need to read this book and have that conversation with your spouse too.

I do not usually go for the apocalyptic zombie stories due to the theme being so over done, but I gave this one a spin, and was not disappointed. Bacic does a great job and delivers an original, suspenseful, and sad new twist to the undead genre. While being eaten and turned into the undead is frightening, losing a loved one can on many levels be more horrifying. Would definitely recommend. Graphic zombie horror and violence.

Till Undeath Do Us Part
by Boris Bacic

This was a very different read for me as i don't usually read horror BUT this book had me captivated and thinking about what is to come next.

This book follows Linda and Jack on their heartbreakingly horrifying journey through The collapse, an apocalyptic infection that spreads out through the world making people who get bitten into The Undead.
With this comes another problem where everyone is looking out for themselves and pilfering, breaking in and downright murder. Can Jack and Linda get away unscathed and find sanctuary or will they surrender to the inevitable?

This book has different timelines, if one chapter is the past then the next is the present. I wish there was a part two of this because this book has me in CHOKEHOLD. and the plot twist at the end wasn't something i even remotely thought about.
