Intriguing at times but slow to build at other times, this book was not the firecracker I expected it to be.

I wanted to like this. I am new to the ff world of romance, erotica and bdsm combined. But not new to any of the genres. For me I wanted girl power show her how to please a woman life changing situations. We got ... dinner, some quick touching then of course fruit and byee then of course they fall in love etc etc. The book was far too long to deliver what it did. I'm hoping other readers will enjoy But I did not. I will say the writing was easy to read through

The representation and the exploration of sexuality brought depth to the plot that sets it apart from other novels in the genre, however, it definitely also brought the heat. Overall, the scenes were descriptive and immersive.

This book took me much longer to finish than usual, as I found myself losing interest when the pacing slowed down. I tried not to skim parts, but the background information got to a point where it wasn't adding anything. The characters didn't engage me and I found myself frustrated at their slow change. I was also looking for more dynamic characters, and not in backstory but in action and response to others, and a lot more chemistry between Dani and Ryan. I had a difficult time believing their attraction at times, as well. Finally, there were some interactions at the beginning where Dani is judging other women, calling them fake basically, which frustrated me in a book where I was expecting more a celebration and appreciation. Along with mentioning "personal ads" it felt more like a book set in the 1990s than the 2020s.

DNF - I tried to finish this book, but just couldn't. The book is very disjointed, and the point of view scenes/chapters contributed to this feel. The overall plot and sex scenes also left a lot to be desired. I read and like lesbian erotica, but this one was not my cup of tea.

I received an ARC from Bold Strokes Books and NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

I thought this was an ok book. The escorting theme is usually interesting in eroticas and the sex scenes were good, but I was expecting more of the BDSM context. Renee Roman writes well, but I had to read twice some sentences and the POV switching bothered me sometimes.

This is the third book I've read from the author and while I liked their previous books, I don't quite know what to think about this one. To top it off, this book felt slightly underwhelming.

This is pretty much a stereotypical kind wherein a straight woman wants to explore her sexuality and so she hires an escort and then after many sessions of sex, she falls in love. I feel like we only know Dani and Ryan on a surface level. I get that this is considered erotica as it shows countless sex scenes all throughout the book but it lay heavily flat for me.

I don't think that we get to see more of Dani and Ryan outside the bedroom and they all seemed to have no personality/character at all apart from when they're doing the deed. But overall, the story was boring to a point I almost DNF-ed it at the 25% mark. The story could've been more interesting if it had a little bit of action or subplot that would also connect to the main plot.

Ryan is skilled at being CEO of her escort business, but wants a partner to love and come home to. When Dani selects her to be her first escort, Ryan is immediately intrigued and tries to keep her emotions at bay while making the former feel comfortable about exploring her sexual desires. They both grow to want more out of their relationship. When Ryan recommends another escort for Dani, I know she did it so that Dani could get a full experience of sexual fulfillment but it seemed too generous in my opinion. Granted, Ryan may not have realized she was falling in love yet. Still I liked her character a lot. Both women do fall for each other a bit quickly, but if you want a romance that explores kink in a non-judgmental way, this story is a sexy read. 4/5

This book was exactly what I thought I was signing up for. In the best way possible. It was a nice quick read that was a lot of fun. If you enjoy spicy books with women who know what they want then this is for you! If you are looking for a book to make you think deeply about the complexities of your life, I would look somewhere else. If you are looking for a good time in a book form then this is exactly for you. It has complex female friendships and a lovely story full of spice. This is definitely a book that I would (and now have) recommend to a friend.

Escorted tells the story of Dani and Ryan, women in their 30s on a search for themselves. One the ceo of a lucrative escort service and the other, a high end salon hairstylist. When starting this book I was invested in Dani’s background as a girl who grew up with strict religious parents and so she spent her formative years hiding who she was from herself and those around her, except from for her best friend. Instantly I clicked with the character. She’s funny and fresh. Sarcastic and nervous. Compared to books I’ve read where we get an older main character embarking on her queer journey for the first time, this one didn’t give us cliche. Dani was very aware of what she wanted from the women she encountered even if she did give us moments of vulnerability at being a first timer at her age. The author handles her exploration in such a delicate and fresh way that it doesn’t feel forced. There’s no unnecessary trauma needed for Dani to find herself. She meets Ryan and that dynamic was enough. The sexual scenes were written amazingly and are a blast to read. The surprising part was how informative the play scenes were. The reader gets to learn and go on this journey alongside Dani instead of simply observing. The romance is a steady growth whereas the attraction was immediate and hot. I enjoyed the characters so much I was inclined to check out the author’s other works. Escorted was a fun and light read that tells the story of a woman coming into herself and finding love along the way. Almost like a ‘it’s never too late’ sentiment.

Dani Brown has decided she wants to satisfy her urges and be with a woman. She reaches out to The Agency and the owner, Ryan Lewis takes the call. Ryan is drawn to Dani and decides to help Dani with her journey personally. Feelings become involved for both of them the more time they spend together, even though Dani visits others to assist with her journey to self discovery.
This is my first Renee Roman book and it didn't really do it for me. I would have liked to have seen more development of the characters feelings for each other. I didn't really feel the chemistry between Ryan and Dani. I want to be overwhelmed with the chemistry, to where it's palpable and I didn't get that from this book. The characters were likable enough and I am happy they found each other. I just needed more to really get into it and feel invested.
The character I was most interested in was Drake. I would be very interested in a book featuring her backstory and giving us more insight into her. She was the one I most felt connected to and want to know more about.
While I didn't love this book, I intend to check out some of Renee Roman's others.

Newly self-discovered, queer woman Dani apparently has a lot of repression to make up for and decides to go the high- end escort route. Obviously, the CEO is the woman she picks for her first fantasy. This book is 100% make believe and that is A-OK. Despite the fact that this probably wouldn't happen to anyone you or I know, there are some honest emotions and light angst thrown in for good measure. A hot, but not too hot release

This book was strangely a lot longer than I thought it needed to be. Not usually something I feel with a book, but it could have probably been about 50 pages shorter, and I wouldn't have felt like it lost anything.

If you enjoy reading about the many ways to pleasure a woman, then this book is for you. It's basically a sexual bootcamp for Dani, that just so happens to involve Ryan...for the most part. Which leads me to - if you don't like reading about MC's who engage in sexual activity that is not with the other MC, after they have already been intimate, then this book isn't for you. In the authors defense, it's Ryan's job and Dani is exploring. It fits with the storyline.

I did find myself feeling like Drake was in love with Ryan at a point in the book, but I mistook that for friendship I guess. And I still don't know how Dani paid for all the hookups, especially the ones not with Ryan, but whatever. Mild point I guess.

Overall, I found it an unusual concept that was sexy, but not really a book with a lot of depth.

I had a hard time getting into this story and found the plot itself a little disjointed and hard to follow at times.

Dani is a lesbian virgin and wants to experiment but is having trouble finding the right situation for her to be comfortable doing so. She hears about an escort agency that may be the solution. When she calls, she is paired up with the CEO of the agency, Ryan. As they get to know each other they find that neither of them wants to contain their relationship to the bedroom.
This was not my favorite book I’ve read by Renee Roman. I felt like the chemistry was lacking and the timeline and dialogue are disjointed. I had to re read several passages more than once to try to figure out what was going on with the characters. It also felt overly dramatic at times and passage of time wasn’t clear. At one point Ryan tells Dani she’d like them to be more and Ryan leaves, unclear on why since she had been talking about wanting more as well. In the next paragraph they meet again and it feels like no time has passed between but then they later say that weeks have gone by with no interaction. This story wasn’t very engaging for me overall, but I have liked other books from Renee Roman in the past so I’m hoping this was a one off.

The premise of the story was quite intriguing. The main characters Dani and Ryan were great but the story itself was difficult to follow and took some time getting into. The sex scenes were great. I'm sure the this will appeal to audience out there. I recommend 3.5 stars

Thank you, Bold Strokes Books, and NetGalley for this ARC.

The story follows Dani, a 'straight' woman who wants to explore her sexuality and finds an escort service owned by a woman, Ryan, who she eventually develops a relationship with. I really liked the premise so I was excited to read this.

The chemistry between Ryan and Dani was well written and the BDSM was fun to read about. Spice level 2

The writing style was also good, however the book didn't grab me at first due to there being a lot of description of the two female characters and not their interactions.

However, the main issue of this book for me was the lack of convincing relationship development. I felt like there weren't enough 'cute' moments that made me feel like both characters were right for eachother, or were compatible. Although there were heartfelt moments at times, they were few and far between. I would have preferred to have more scenes of them functioning as a couple or more scenes exploring the relationship tension.

Overall, this was a likeable read and I feel like the author has a lot of potential for writing great books in the future.

Publisher Bold Strokes Books was kind enough to provide me with an arc via Netgalley for my honest review.

I received this ARC in exchange for a review but unfortunately I couldn’t bring myself to finish. I did not enjoy the writing style or the characters. The premise was what intrigued me but the execution left me underwhelmed. Some of the references the author used felt really dated for being published in 2022 like chat rooms and personal ads…yet she also references dating apps too.

The character of Dani was really all over the place as well. In one breath she’s a really inexperienced, naïve, “maybe I’m interested in women?” woman and then bam! she wants full on BDSM experiences?? Huh? This was all in the course of a phone call and then one night with Ryan.

I also don’t enjoy insta-love and Ryan becoming obsessed with Dani over a single phone call wasn’t doing it for me.

Another thing I wasn’t enjoying with the authors writing style was the odd use of masculine words in reference to women’s anatomy and sex. It was almost like she was purposefully eschewing anything feminine. Like her clit surged or clit hardened. Almost like how you’d talk about a man’s erection. There were many instances of this in the few chapters I read and it really turned me off.

Loved every character and I was invested in Ryan and Dani’s HEA. The story itself was a little difficult to follow with the POV’s not being labeled and the story skips moments.

I didn’t realise before reading that this was a sapphic erotica. I was interested in seeing how it fared against hetero erotica that I’ve read. I actually really liked this, I liked the storyline, the main characters Dani and Ryan were easy to like and I really liked they had their own issues to over come and I was rooting for them!

The sex was phwoar! Really, why do we need men when women can just do it all?
Thank you for the arc!

Thank you Netgalley for this ARC!
I really enjoyed this book, I was a bit nervous starting it as its the biggest book ive read so far but I found myself needing to read more just to find out what happened.
I felt like I really related to Ryan, hurt, withdrawn from past events and Dani where she wanted to explore her freedom that she never had growing up.
The book had enough smut in it and wasnt too much.
I really enjoyed the happy ending and so glad Ryan and Dani found a way to overcome their past demons to live their future.
