This book is about a strong female named Ivy who faces a uphill battle from the beginning. She is framed for a murder she didnt commit and to add to her plate she also has to stop others from becoming a meal for vampires. But something isn't adding up with all that is going on and Ivy wants to know why. What she doesn't know is she will have to let others help her to stop the murders and to clear her name. Ivy along this journey meets a few characters that each bring a something new and exciting to the group. And each one helps the other with issues they have and what they will face and they create a bond. There are twist and turns and questioning of motives and why's. Betrayal and so much more.

This book was one that kept you wanting to keep reading till the end. It brought a bunch of feelings with it from anger, sadness, triumph, and more.

A quick easy fantasy read.

I enjoyed the plot of this story, it was fast paced and there was alot going on. At times it felt a bit rushed, and I felt like I was missing something sometimes.

That being said, the characters were easy to connect with, and there were some great descriptive scenes in the book. A good mix of fantasy action, mythical creatures and magical world building

I found Ivy rather annoying and immature at times, which I felt distracted from the overall enjoyment of this book. I would read the next one in the series.

I liked this but it wasn’t it for me. It caught my attention but it didn’t keep it for long. I’d definitely love to read something different from A.D. Winter but this one wasn’t it for me.

Bloody Charming is an interesting urban fantasy with a different take on the magical world.

PLOT: I love a book with a conspiracy, especially one that involves magic. It has fake deaths, lots of fights, and lots of lies. There are times when I wasn't sure what was going on.

CHARACTER: Ivy is interesting, she is a bit of a loose canon. I liked that she does what she thinks is right.

WRITING STYLE: I liked Winter's world-building, there was a couple of dips in pace. But overall easy to read.

OVERALL: A story with a great world, tough characters. It will be interesting to see what happens to Ivy next.

My Rating for Bloody Charming is 3.8 out of 5.

Working as an Inquisitor for the Order, Ivy was following a lead regarding several missing women. However, the lead happened to be a trap, which caused Ivy to be falsely accused for a crime. Can she clear her name?

Bloody Charming is a quick contemporary fantasy read following Ivy as she is trying to clear her name in 24 hours. The premise for this book was really good, but I struggled with the execution. The book has a pleasant writing style, but can be hard to follow because it's too much information and action in not enough words. It's a little too quick paced, which caused me to skim the pages instead of really reading them. I was enjoying it, especially the second half of the book, but I wasn't sucked into the story.

In short, it's a quick, fun read with a witty main character and a very interesting concept, I just wasn't invested in the story or the characters.

I did not finish this. I don't think it was a bad book, it just wasn't a book that was for me. This has great potential, but I found it confusing and just hard to follow in the beginning, but I definitely see the appeal of the story and the premise is very intriguing.

Bloody Charming is a supernatural fantasy set in AD Winter's Dark Inquisitor world.

I read this book in one day, start to finish. I really REALLY enjoyed it. Most of my enjoyment came from all of the action packed into this book. It was pretty full of it and it felt like a movie.

That being said, I do have some critiques on the magic itself.
I feel like our author tried to pack too much into the book as far as creatures and magic. Some of it felt out of place. Don't get me wrong, I didn't really enjoy it less because of it, but it struck me kinda wrong.

Also.....the end with the spider legs....I've never read "spider legs" in a book so many times in my life......not a spoiler...just saying.

I would definitely read a sequel if Winters were to write one!

The book kept me engaged until the last page. I liked the fast pace and the action, the nice fantasy touch and the division of the 2 worlds. It has a lot of potential for a series, and I would try any new book with the action in the same world.
I like that Ivy is involved in the murder of a fairy. The fairies have a very intriguing personality and until the end of the book we keep discovering the plot of all the mythical creatures participating to the mystery.
I started this book without expecting any wow factor or to keep me that engaged. I wanted just an easy read. It was much more and I was delighted with the plot and the characters.

Ivy is an Inquisitor for the Order when she becomes a murder suspect. She finds herself dropped into a dungeon cell. She escapes the dungeon and has 24 hours to solve the murder with the help of a motley crew of associates.

This was a decent read, with some interesting twists in the plot as well as a neat method of transference of 'spirits." While it did take me a while to warm up to the main character, I did come to appreciate her approach and became more rounded as the tale progressed. I was entertained until the end of the story.

A fun fast paced fantasy read that introduces you to a whole world that I hope becomes a series.

Ivy is a great character that has ups and down as a character so it may be a hit or miss if you connect with her. I know this is hopefully the first in the series and we will be seeing more in-depth of her character. This book was a surprise that it held some much roller coaster of emotions. The side characters where outstanding, the mystery was great, and the twist are a great surprise.

first of all, the cover art is attractive, it’s what caught my attention. a fae gets framed of a murder she did not commit. she needs to quickly find out who really committed the murder in order to clear her name. i didn’t find myself fully invested in the characters or connect to them as much as i would have liked. i do like that it was fast pace, i just wish there was more stuff to have us connect to the characters more, there were a bit flat. fast pace as things move quickly which i don’t mind, however wish there was more interesting stuff that could’ve happen more often and early in the book, more world building and explanations how why and how certain things are happening. there are plots and twists in the book to keep the reader engaged but also a lot of talking. i don’t mind the writing it is easy to read, i typically don’t need fancy sentences or crazy descriptive sentences unless it’s describing the scene to give us a better idea on the location and feel of the scene. i wish there was more romance, flirting, every paranormal book should have a good romance in the book, it doesn’t need to be smutty at all, but a good romance in an action/mystery paranormal book will make it so much better that would be my suggestion. this book has potential, the characters just need to have something memorable about them something the reader can connect to. this has potential to be a good young adult book series. i received this arc from NG & this is my honest review.

Magic, vampires, and a very sassy MC, if that sounds like your cup of tea then you will probably enjoy this book. Ivy loves being an investigator and busting heads. She is framed and while trying to exonerate herself she meets some unlikely allies that help her along the way. This is a quick read that will keep you engaged through the whole story.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for an eARC in exchange for an honest review.

This book was alright, I didn't finish it. I love vampires and all things that has to do with vampires, magical things. But I could not get into this book at all. I went as far as 3 chapters in, and that is my limit on books. I would put it down, then I would forget that I was reading it. I don't think I connected with the characters, and I didn't like the main lady character.

Thank you to Netgalley and the author for the digital copy of this book in return for my honest opinion!

This book is a fun and exciting read for anyone looking for a fantasy book with likable characters. This book follows the main character, Ivy, as she tries to prove her innocence for a crime she didn't commit. Along the way she encounters a few unlikely allies. If you enjoy a fast paced book with a strong female lead and characters such as demons, gremlins, dwarves, fae and warlocks then this book is for you!
I could not put this book down! I highly recommend this book to anyone! I can't wait for book two to find out the rest of Ivy's story!

The start of something special? Ivy is a strong feisty woman with a bit too much of an attitude. There are vampires, wizards, fey, an amazing new world, or two to explore - what more could you want? It's fast paced, exciting and pulls you through from start to finish before you know it.

Well written, captivating and fun. Great for people who enjoy a read that doesn't have excessive detail and world building - only problem was I didn't find myself getting to invested in the characters, like I usually would, which was slightly disappointing.

Because of the negative points, it did take me a while to read, only because I found myself hooked on other books. Maybe the world building needed to be expanded for my tastes, or maybe it was because some of the revelations didn't give a sense of satisfaction.

Will definitely read other books by the author, hopefully something else of theirs will captivate me more!

This book is excellently written and described but I just couldn't get into it when reading. I normally like this genre however it is not my favourite. For someone who loves this genre, you would love this book without a doubt.

Some writers, you find yourself flipping the pages wondering where they will go. The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy, Witcher, etc. is a great example of fun scifi you read just to enjoy the ride. A.D. Winter is just a great comedy writer. This is the first time reading their work, but hopefully not the last. I don't really want to give a lot away on plot because the book is chalk full of funny points and you should have fun entertaining yourself for a night (so rare), but young Ivy is an orphan human trying to climb her way up the detective ladder in a world of magic. Too bad she just got framed by a co-worker and finds herself on the run with 24 hours to prove her innocence. This is super fun caper book and worth reading. Can't wait to see what they come up with next. Also, the editor and publishing people who greenlit this novel...thank you. Great evening of laughter. What a rare gem.

⭐️⭐️⭐️💫/5

I gave this one 3.5 stars. I really really enjoyed this book, the story line was good and the characters were hilarious. I just wish there was a little more world building. I would’ve like to know more about the world and found myself asking “but why is it that way?” Several times. Otherwise, it was a great story and fast read.

This book follows Ivy who is a Fae inquisitor being charged with a murder she did not commit. This story follows her investigating who DID commit the murder to try to clear her name. While following these leads she runs into a handsome wizard named Dryden who agrees to help her on her mission if she will reopen a case for him. The adventure to figure out the crazy things going on in Grimm World definitely kept me intrigued!

This book is available now to read! If you like magic worlds and snarky characters you will enjoy this book.

Thank you NetGalley and A. D. Winter for gifting me this read!

The plot and characters have some great potential and I was enjoying it but the writing was a little basic. There was a lack of world building and this left a little confusion from the beginning.
The characters were all interesting and were ones you could see building relationships and character styles but were still a little 2D. The story raced along but also felt as though it was a retelling of the main points rather than some description or build up.
Definitely can see this growing into a great YA series or keep it basic for a younger audience
