This is a cute and funny book that I think kids of all ages will get a kick out of. I really enjoyed laughing through all the silly scenarios.

I requested a copy of this book to ask the questions to my 5th-grade students. Before each lesson, we do brain breaks to get them refocused and ready. The questions were all silly, yet age-appropriate. The illustrations were also great. I plan on getting a copy for my own classroom.

The art style were exaggerated and funny, bright and colourful, I can see it will appeal to young readers. The choices in the book were funny, my 6 years old said her favourite would you rather was a baboon for a brother or a skunk for a sister.

I guess this is suppose to be a funny picture books. Although some of the illustrations are a bit awkward and not appropriate for young kids.

A lot of these options are quite extreme and intense. My kids go enjoy these style books didn’t even want to finish with the unpleasant options and illustrations.

I read this book with my six year old daughter and she wasn’t keen. The illustrations were good and I personally liked the concept. I thought it was funny but she didn’t enjoy it. She did laugh of parts but she said she had other book she liked more.

I am not sure if I would buy anything like this again.

I loved the concept of this book and the questions kept my own children debating and giggling for hours. I might use some pages with my students, but probably not the book in it's entirety because of the appropriateness of some questions (after which 3rd graders might not be able to function the rest of the day). I want to clarify that I did read this with my children in a home setting but I would pick and choose the questions/pages to share with my students. Overall, it was a fun book that will definitely keep kids talking.

Layton and Fox team up to give an interactive would you rather journey for readers. Having an almost 5 year old, some of the pictures may not be suited for him based on my opinion, but slightly older children will love it. I love the style of the book which would lead to great conversations.

This book is hilarious and very entertaining! Each turn of the page offers another fun idea portraying outrageous scenarios that kids (and adults) will love. The illustrations are big, bold, and very kid-friendly. Young readers will delight in the happy vibe that is projected throughout the entire book from beginning to end. It makes an excellent read aloud at story time. Reluctant readers will be dive in and gladly give it a go.

The book is a wonderful intro to critical thinking, problem solving and using your imagination. I highly recommend this book.

People have been playing 'would you rather' since the dawn of time. Seriously, though, cavemen probably cackled out loud deciding whether they'd rather wear a full bear suit or go hunting completely naked.

There's good reason for its popularity. It's hilarious! This book completely does the concept proud. Through hilarious scenarios and fantastically funny illustrations, Would You Rather is an entertaining book for children and adults alike. The pictures are great for engaging toddlers and older children would thoroughly enjoy learning to read through the humorous text.

I would definitely buy this book for my toddler and we'd have a lot of fun reading it together. It's entertaining, cheeky and very silly ‒ in the best kind of way.

Would You Rather by James Layton and Kat Fox has some cute parts and fun artwork. Some of the artwork does not seem appropriate for younger children. There are many choices that are fun and the artwork goes perfectly with the scenario. There isn't really a beginning or ending to this book. I found myself going back to see if I missed page one, same with the end of the book.
There are parts of that book that would cause a lot of giggling, though! I think that some of the scenarios could be great conversation starters, as well.

Comical artwork perfectly illustrates these outrageous scenarios, which will keep readers turning the pages and asking for more! A kid-friendly introduction to critical thinking and humor, this book is sure to charm even the most reluctant reader.

I love doing would you rather questions with students. This book is a lot of fun. It will make for a great read aloud. I wish there was an opening and closing to make it more of a story.

As a parent, I love books like this on a long car ride or even making conversation over dinner. As a teacher, I love books like this as ice breakers. This is a particularly cute Would You Rather with fun pictures and rhyming alternatives.

Many an adult has come across the 'would you rather' posers – would you rather have toes for fingers or fingers for toes, eat this or drink that, and so on. I don't know how universal it is for kids, but at the same time I don't know if this brash, exuberant book is universally acceptable for kids either. Take "would you rather cry your eyes out or laugh your head off?". The former sees some character whose eyes are literally distended completely away from their face, attached just by the optic nerve that disappears into the blackness of the skull. The latter is bent backwards, finger thrust at the former's misfortune – and yes, their bonce is due to bounce, as it's left a jagged mess of nerves and muscles in the thin air between it and the bloke's body.

Now, this is by far the most extreme couplet here, but boy it could trigger no end of problems, if you ask me. There is a limit even to cartoonish violence, and I can't harp on about it any more than I can say caveat emptor – buyer beware where this title is concerned. (The author's biog suggests much worse was dropped, at least as far as the text goes.) Back to the merits of the book – it's annoying how some couplets are easily rhyming, and fun, while others are just there for a small shock value in a small person, with no rhyme to go with what little reason they might present. The whole is brash, as I say, which is a quality at times, but this seemed a little too loose, out of control and not fully thought through. By the standards of 'it won't rate high if even I can imagine a superior version', this gets three stars.

Would You Rather? was a pretty silly book. The choices were hilarious but some were pretty scary for young readers. A few of the illustrations also were a little disturbing for young kids. Overall I found the book to be exactly what I expected, goofy and fun.

This is a cute set of questions that will reliably induce giggles (and hopefully start good conversations) for young kids. Some of the question sets rhyme, and some contain mildly rude humor that will delight small kids. The illustrations are bright and vivid. This would make for a great book for home or classroom and would be a good early read for newly independent readers. Silly, fun reading practice will be a great incentive for reluctant readers!
