I took a number of Hollaback!'s (now named Right to Be) free trainings over 2020 and 2021 regarding Bystander Intervention, including training specifically against anti-Black and anti-Asian violence, so I was very excited to have the opportunity to read an early review copy of I've Got Your Back! Jorge Arteaga and Emily May did a fantastic job of creating an accessible, cohesive guidebook to the methodology of Right to Be, the 5Ds, as well as the scope of the issue of harassment. This book is an excellent tool for learning how we can all play a part in ending harassment in all its forms, and it beautifully captures the spirit of the organization as well. The tone of the book is conversational and interactive while being informative and giving due respect to the serious content at hand. This is an essential text!

Brilliant! I tried to get Hollaback! (now called Right to Be) to come present to my organization but they were all booked up last year. I'm so glad they are getting the word out about bystander intervention and how to be an ally. I wish that everyone would read this book. You never know at what moment you might need to use this training, and this book will give you all the tools you need to be able to handle moments of uncertainty where otherwise you just wouldn't know what to say or do. Read this and next time you can say "I've got your back".

Thank you to NetGalley and ABRAMS for the opportunity to review this free e-arc in exchange for an honest review.
