Wow what to say about The Jane Doe. I was really excited for the premise of this book. It even started off strong! Some of the descriptions in the first chapter were amazing, and made me feel as if I was actually there. I was intrigued by this girl who knew nothing about herself, curious to know more.
Unfortunately, it was all downhill from there. When she was found and arrived in town, everything was just sort of handed to her. A job, a place to stay. It just seemed so easy and made it hard to believe.
Relationships grew between Jane and the townies. They were all pretty extravagant and over the top, imo. The pettiness was WAY out there. I did like Fran though, she was a real one.
I called the ending at page 62. I usually never call the endings, so this was pretty disappointing. If I can call it that early, I feel like anyone could.
And the ending. Wow. What a ride. But not in a good way. Like more of a get-me-out-of-here-before-I-lose-my-mind way. There was just SO MUCH going on, and none of it really made sense or seemed like a coherent story line.
I hate to be so critical, but I think I'm just disappointed because I was SO excited for the premise. I feel like the story could have been fleshed out better, maybe gone a little slower? It felt like characters weren't developing, just acting randomly.

I really enjoyed this book. Suspenseful, thrilling and in many ways sad. The thought of living and never really knowing who you are, what you left behind, if there's something bad in your past you ran from or is dangerous... and most importantly, who you can really trust. Would read again.

Amazing book "The Jane Doe" was a classic to read, could hardly put it down, intriguing, suspenseful,
knife-edge of fact and imagination. Watch as the truth comes into focus and a shocking past merges with a horrifying present

A young woman had stumbled out of a patch of woods. She had a head wound and looking lost. No missing report has been filed for anyone of her description.

Lieutenant Detective Amy Lynne claimed that trauma made her amnesiac. She wouldn't accept when the Jane Doe might be linked to a cold case that she'd been investigated.

This is another promise of a different kind unreliable narrator thrillers. A character who can bring you into the twisted worldview and make you think harder.

Jane is a manipulator on a mission. She doesn't apologize for who she is, she's confident, beautiful and smart. She knows she's not normal and she's okay with that.

The ending was strong with a little suprise.😶

My personal rating 4 ⭐
