Amara Hart, who is jaded by her past relationships, owns a retro-style gaming arcade in the local shopping mall. Valentino Rossi believes in endless love and has made it his mission in life to help others express that love through his custom-made jewelry. Amara finds herself agreeing to help Valentino when his store is robbed a few days shy of Valentine’s Day—his biggest annual moneymaker. After they spend time together, Amara feels her rough edges begin to soften. She begins to wonder what would happen if she asked the man to be mine, Valentino.
I really liked this contemporary romance. It was a sweet, and heartwarming, and as a reader, I wish there was a Valentino for every Amara. I liked how the author made everything positive in the end. But I wanted more, more romance, more character development, and more story. I believe that this story could’ve been better as a full-length novel. I received an advanced reader’s copy from NetGalley. This is my honest review.

💘Flipping a bad experience on its head🙃

3.5🌟 stars
This was a quick, easy read with no angst and clean, swift romance between neighboring business owners at a shopping mall. Mara and Valentine, uncomfortable neighbors until an attack that has them joining forces and, as a result, getting to know each other.

It's not long enough to have real depth, but it's a happy, fun visit (especially when they get caught up in fighting off a late night mall intruder!) and I liked the idea of Mara owning a retro arcade. The story takes place around Valentine's Day for a good reason but the romance really doesn't depend on a high-expectation romantic date, candy or flowers; it's all about strangers getting to know each other, surmounting preconceived prejudices and learning to appreciate the real deal person on the other side of the rumors and first impression.

I would be happy to read more by this author.

Thanks to Author Collective 20 and NetGalley for sharing a complimentary advance copy of the story; this is my voluntary and honest opinion.

Amara and Valentino were neighbors who never met each other until a robbery put them together. They ended up becoming friends. The more they got to know each other, the more they realized that both of them wanted much more than just being in a friendly relationship.

This one was just a short novella.

This was a quick and easy read, perfect to get you in the mood for romance ahead of Valentine’s Day, especially for those enemies to lovers fans!

Don’t expect anything too complicated and this definitely feels a bit rushed due to the length but the idea is good so sit back and enjoy!

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher (Author Collective 20) for providing a copy of the book for review. All opinions are my own and provided willingly.

3 Stars for this quick read!

Amara owns the arcade in a mall and next door to her is Valentino who owns the jewellery store. Valentino is always complaining that Amara's customers are too loud. What does he expect ... it's an arcade! When Valentino gets robbed and they actually meet face to face ... the sparks fly.

Amara is quirky while Valentino is very serious and they will learn from each other. This is a sweet romance, I just found it a bit cheesy. But it is a light read and will be perfect for Valentine's Day.

If you like quick, easy read romantic novellas then this is the book for you.
Despite it happening over valentines day, it isn't over the top mushy like you would expect, but does leave you feeling happy after reading it!

Mall You Need is Love is a really cute, light-hearted, and sweet read. Perfect for getting you out of your reading slump in no time! It was short and easy to read, refreshing, and I found myself genuinely pleased with the events of the novella. Especially the beyond sweet ending.

I liked how Amara and Val were complete opposites, and how it was almost sort of a reverse grumpy-sunshine trope going on - with Amara being a little skeptical of love and Valentine's Day (for valid reasons), and Val being the one who loved love. It was sweet to see a male character being the sunshine rather than the grump, and I really liked how he was able to open Amara's heart to new experiences, and the idea of love, and how he was able to make her see the sentiment behind his views. It was also really sweet to read about how Amara felt secure enough with him to be able to step out of her comfort zone and step into their new fast-paced relationship.

I'm a sucker for happy endings, and so I was really pleased with the ending here - especially with Marco. I found that he was a really cute addition to the novella, and he needed a happy ending as wholesome as he was.

The three stars I'm giving this novella is only due to my own reading preferences, and not anything on the author's part. This was my first time reading Sarah Robinson's work, and I really liked her writing style - it was natural, refreshing, and entertaining. I know that with novellas, there's more of an instant love story, purely because it isn't long enough to really develop a relationship from nothing to something. And that's the only reason why I don't think this novella really worked for me, because I'm OBSESSED with slow-burn. But, it was nevertheless a sweet and easy read.

This incredibly cute, valentines novella is a great quick read to get you out of a reading slump. Val and Mara are refreshing characters to read and their individual thought processes help the storyline play out without being too over-developed. The over-arching plot - the mystery of the missing jewellery - is strong and easy to follow, with a satisfying ending.
This is definitely one to check out if you are looking for a light-hearted, grump x sunshine novella!

This short and sweet novella will defiantly get you in the Valentine’s Day mood!
Sometimes I find that in novellas the whole story seems very rushed as the author is trying to get a lot into a limited number of pages, this is not one of those novellas, but yet you still see the full development of their relationship!

This book is set out to be published on February 11th so get your wallet ready.
This is a novella about Amara Hart, who runs a game arcade and Valentino Rossi, next door neighbors who has to work together under unforeseen circumstances. Amara HATES Valentine’s day and would rather spend her time building onto her Pac man score while Valentino LOVES it! With Valentines day looming, will she soften up to Valentino on Valentine’s day?
I LOVED these two characters! it was such a fun, light, fast paced, cheesy and heartwarming read. I would definitely recommend!!

A cute short read that will get you in the spirit for Valentine's Day.

Following a break in at the jewellers, neighbouring business owners Amara and Valentino join up for a night of neighbourhood watch in the mall.

It was a sweet and cheesy little romance, however I do wish there was a little more romance. But, this is a novella and it managed to fit a cute story in.

Mall you need is love by Sarah Robinson

Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️ 3/5

This was a very cute, enjoyable short story that you could definitely finish in an hour. The writing is clear and easy to understand. The plot is fun, light-hearted and includes some mystery which was original.

I enjoyed the contrasts between Amara’s and Valentine’s characters and the build up of tension between them due to the forced proximity and grumpy/sunshine trope.

Thank you NetGalley and the publishers for providing me an eARC of this book!!

Before I get into the review, I just want to provide a synopsis about this book: Mall You Need Is Love is a lighthearted, new adult novella that follows two shop owners, Amara Hart and Valentino Rossi, as they become close after the latter finds his store robbed just before Valentine’s Day.

This was a very quick read, and I found some parts in the book really funny. I was immediately engrossed with the story after meeting the two main characters because of how they interacted with one another. Amara and Val were a cute example of the classic enemies-to-lovers trope. I just really liked Sarah Robinson’s writing style very much.

With that said, this book was not my cup of tea at the end of the day. I understand it’s a novella and that you can only do so much in a handful of pages, but the development wasn’t constructed well. This book lacked romance and depth, which was utterly disappointing considering the genre and the Valentine’s Day theme, and by the time there was an instance of romance, it fell flat because of how unrealistic and fast the pacing of Amara and Val’s relationship was. The ending could’ve been a lot stronger if the epilogue was different. If anything, I think this book was more of a cozy mystery than a fun, lighthearted romance.

Mall you need is love. The title is brilliantly chosen, because the setting is in a mall. The stores next to each other, an arcade hall, owned by Mara and a jewelry store, owned by Valentino. They never met, till a robbery finds place at Valentino’s store. They spend a night together in a night watch and get to learn each other better, and love is in the air.

It’s a short story and a lot happens. That’s fun to read, but it’s hard to identify with the characters because of the shortness of it. It’s all to fast and the robbery takes al great part of the story, but it’s a nice love story with an ‘ever happy after’ ending.

Story is perfect to read on Valentine’s day.

This was a quick, cute read to get you in the mood just in time for a Valentine's day or Single's Awareness Day (S.A.D.) depending on who you ask.

Mara is the owner of a mall arcade and a champion Mrs. Packman player (she would want you to know that). Val is the suave, flirty, playboy owner of the jewelry store Kisses and Karats. A robbery that takes place will join these two very different personalities up in order to protect their mall and hopefully catch a thief too if they don't catch feelings first.

Can you trust in love again? When the jewellery store next door is robbed Amara agrees to help the owner Valentino out by keeping watch with him. They seemed to have anything in common but they find out that enjoy each other's company. But Amara can't put herself out there again as she is afraid of getting hurt again. Valentino didn't think that he would want to spend more time with the game arcade owner but realises that he wants more than just a friendship. Will they give each other a chance? A great short red. I was lucky enough to receive a copy from Net galley & the publisher in exchange for my honest review.

Although this is a quick easy read I did enjoy it. Yes it was predictable, yes it was short but the two main characters were likeable and the story was fun.
