This is a cute little book with great and vibrant illustrations! I really enjoyed the storyline and I think kids in the library will too.

Nelican's Lemons is such a precious book! It has humor, will get the kids engaged in reading, and problem-solving skills. My kids at school absolutely loved this book!

This rhyming book has some really fun illustrations and the idea is really nice. However the story is overly long. The author manages to rhyme every other stanza but some are quite harsh and throws the cadence off. The cadence is not great to begin with so when you lose it it’s completely gone. Overall this book was a nice and lovely read but it has no stay in power.

I received an arc of this title from NetGalley for an honest review. Nelican finds a huge box of lemons and tries to share it with his friends, but they don't want them. What will Nelican do with them?

Nelican's Lemons from Riya Arrini is a rather quirky look at what happens when life does indeed dish up lemons; in this case a crate full, to a hapless pelican, Nelican. Poor Nellican, what is he to do with the unexpected present left at his door.
He is at a loss to know what to do with this unexpected windfall, as no one he knows wants the lovely, ripe golden, but very sour fruit. He has tried all the people in the little town where he lives, but no one at all wants to take any of them. He is getting very tired pulling the crate around and decides there has to be a solution to the problem if only he can find it.
Nelican sits down and begins to think until he comes up with a way to share the fruit and have some fun. What do you think it could be?
The wording is a little obscure, best described as fractured prose, the illustrations from Mariana Hnatenko are gloriously rich in colour and action, which gives a vibrancy to the storyline young beginner readers will enjoy.
Nelican’s Lemons a cheerful, happy and most interesting look at turning the negative into the positive with the use of a whole lot of initiative. A fun read with a lovely message embedded.

I have never laughed out loud as much as I did but the profound lessons I took from this book will stay with me .Nelican's lemons will show you how to make lemonade from lemons and the power of belief. Every child should read this book.

I received a complimentary copy from the publisher and thus all opinions expressed are entirely my own

This is a delightful book about problem solving and as the old adage says... when life gives you lemons... make lemonade! ( literally )

With excellent eye-popping illustrations and beautiful flowing rhyme this book is sprinkled with humour and fun! Nelican, a pelican, discovers a crate of 23 lemons outside his home and samples a few. f He finds them sour and bitter and unacceptable for his taste buds. He decides rather than have them go to waste he will try giving them away. That certainly is a neighbourly thing to do right? Unfortunately all his neighbours decline his tart gifts. Disappointed and sad Nelican heads home with his 23 lemons still in the crate and both he and his lemons feel rejected by everyone.

He finds a sweet solution to his spurned situation and in so doing his neighbours all join in to sip, celebrate and dance 'til the day is done together. They thank Nelican twice for bringing joy to everyone in Welican, the isle of pelicans! I love that the author included a recipe at the end for kids to enjoy. I highly recommend this book.

This is a Cute Children's book that I read to my twin boys. I think the pictures in this book was super cute and bright. I think the rhyming in this book was hard to read at times, and I also feel that it was hard for my boys to follow. I loved the message in this book. I love how something not so good turn into something good, but I wish this book kept my boys attention better. I also wish this book was easier to follow. I think the storyline did not flow very well. I received an ARC of this book. This review is my own honest opinion about the book like all my reviews are.

This is a fun and colorful book about literally making lemonade when life hands you a bunch of unexpected lemons. It's light and upbeat and the bright colors will help keep little ones engaged. There's even a recipe for lemonade at the end!

The illustrations were bright and colorful. The rhyming text teaches kids to look on the bright side and turn a negative into a positive.

I like that a recipe was included in the book, it is always a fun surprise when you find a recipe that you can make together.

Nelican's Lemons is great! It is a fantastic story about a pelican that was disappointed that no one wanted to share his lemons with him but in the end knew just what to do. The artwork is bright and fun. It is very visually appealing. My daughter's favorite part was when the other pelicans thanked Nelican twice.
This is a beautiful book that I would highly recommend! Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for an advanced copy of Nelican's Lemons. All opinions are my own.

This one just didn't click for me, the story was a bit boring and the lemonade recipe surprised me, a whole cup of sugar in any drink these days seems a bit much.

A genuinely brilliant and beautiful book peppered with humour. Does a brilliant job of teaching children how to handle when situations don’t work out as planned, and how to tackle those situations.

Thanks to Netgalley and Victory Editing for the opportunity to read this cute children’s book.

I loved the illustrations in this book.

I also thought it was clever to add the recipe to the back. Doing things like this makes books more engaging to its readers, especially young children.

I’ll be posting this review to Barnes and Noble, goodreads (posted) and Amazon when I’m able (after the pub date).

In this take, a pelican named Nelican on the island of Welican wakes up to find a crate of lemons on his doorstep. He tries to share the lemons with his pelican friends, but no one is interested. He goes home defeated but soon comes up with a plan. He makes a batch of lemonade and shares that instead, and his friends are thrilled!

The message of this story is cute and certainly told in a way that children will understand, but the rhymes seemed forced at times. It felt like some reworking of the prose would make it more appealing for little readers. I love a book told in verse, but only if the verse really and truly flows and appeals to children.

Certainly cute, with a sweet message!

Not a particularly original story, so that was a bit boring. I thought the illustrations could be better, but the colour palette is excellent.

I loved the illustrations in this book. It felt like I was watching screenshots from a kid's show and I could almost hear the waves as I read it. The story is told in rhyme and has a predictable conclusion, which is fine for the young reader that it is aiming for. But some of the rhymes are a bit forced (The cuckoo bird chirped at noon!)
