What a fun book, and a lesson in living well! When Nelican finds a gift of a crate of something neither Nelican nor friends like the gift. But Nelican finds a way to turn that crate of unpleasantness into something that everyone likes, just as any of us could do instead of complaining. The verse is fun and melodic, perfect for reading with a child or for ESL encouragement. The illustrations by Mariana Hnatenko are eye-catching and very well done. I love it!
I requested and received a free temporary e-book copy from Riya Aarini via NetGalley. Thank you!

This is a perfect book for parents to enjoy reading to their child.

I could not even get through this book. The rhyming is...trying way too hard. And while there are far too many exclamation points in the text, even sentences without them feel like they have them. I felt like I was shouting every line. The art is pretty and the idea is good.

This is a charming book about Nelican of Welican, the island of pelicans. The illustrations complement the story beautifully, and we are immediately transported into the world. The story is written in rhyme, and it has a strong rhythm that enhances the cheerful story. Nelican is a loveable character who is at first baffled by the arrival of a crate of lemons and he struggles to work out what to do with them, encapsulated by humorous phrases and illustrations. It is enjoyable book for younger readers.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for providing this book in exchange for an honest review.
Pelicans are my second favorite animal (dogs are #1 favorite), so the cover of this delightful book immediately grabbed my attention. This is such a cute book. The saying of "When life gives you lemons, make lemonade" is what this book is all about. I absolutely love the illustrations.
