This is a nice, easy enemies to lovers romance.

Fun to read with a plot that uses many of the popular tropes; marriage of convenience, enemies to lovers, forced proximity.

The characters are irritating at first, however as they grow and develop they grew on me - especially Posy. She starts off as a spoilt rich girl but slowly learns the meaning of money, love and life.

Interesting plot that was uncomplicated and easy to follow.

A good summer read

This one was a struggle. I really liked the book cover and thought it sounded like a fun enemies to lovers type of book. Both main characters, Posy and Lucas aren't easy to like or even care about. I had to push through to finish this book. I was hoping for a redeeming ending, but with no luck. Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for an advance reader copy in exchange for an honest review.

It took a while to get in to this book and even then I struggled. The charaters were difficult to follow. I wanted to love it but to be honest I found it hard. Not really my sort of storyline unfortunately.

Omg, I loved this story from the get go and fell in love with Lucas more than I thought possible. I usually prefer 1st person dual POV but the story being told in 3rd person was good. I enjoyed the hare brained scheme they came up with but also how the characters grew together. I will be seeking out this author again.

A real joyful read! This book is about two high school nemesis, Posy and Lucas, that they meet again after 10 years, and how they can learn from each other from a crazy plan.
The way this story is told was very captivating, I couldn't put it down until I finished it. The prose is well written and the characters were very real and represented. I could feel the chemistry between them seeping from the pages, all their fears and securities too. And I wished I hadn't finished it too quickly.

I’m a sucker for enemies to lovers trope and this book did not disappoint. I was looking for a quick fun read when this showed up. Perfect.
Lucas and Posey were definitely enemies at the posh secondary school as senior heads of the boys and girls. A silly rule about the school paying for a wedding if they marry helps Posey derive a “fake” wedding to get her to Hawaii and Lucas the money to save his business. Their arguments were fun and their expectations were so different that I giggled a couple times. The ending was a nice twist and quite a surprise. A nice quick fun read…and a four star read for me.

There was so much about this book that I wanted to like - opposites attract, British setting, etc. In practice though, I struggled with the pace of the book and found both characters hard to connect with. I ultimately did not finish the book. Thank you for the arc in exchange for an honest review.

I am obsessed with books where you get to see the couple from two different time periods! It's addicting. Love and Other Words by Christina Lauren and People We Meet on Vacation by Emily Henry are two other books that do it as well! Four fun stars for this book!

I would give this book about 3.5 stars yo be honest. It took me a while to get pulled into the story and I almost gave up at one point. I also feel like the story was a little forced toward the end to make it all turn out the way we expected it too. However, there were lots of funny moments and a lot of growth moments for the characters. Overall I am glad I read it.

I found this book quite lacking in many ways. I wasn't rooting for the main couple at all - they were both insufferable with no redeeming qualities, and the supposed growth just wasn't there. I found the humour to be quite disgusting and not actually funny. Disappointing, as I had high hopes for this book and I really wanted to like it going in.

Normally, I'd write a much longer review, but I just don't have anything to say about this one that hasn't already been said. Overall, not my cup of tea, unfortunately.

I love the enemies-to-lovers trope in romantic fiction and The Reunion fits squarely into this. Posy and Lucas have been enemies since school with different ambitions and social status, never the twain shall meet, right? Wrong.

Ten years later, Lucas’s business is in trouble and Posy’s father has cut her off financially and they both see an opportunity to help each other out by taking advantage of an old school policy of paying for the wedding and honeymoon of any former head boys and head girls of the school. So ensues another trope - fake dating.

The class differences explored in the book were pretty uncomfortable to read. And this is a good thing. The author hasn’t shied away from it and from my experience, she’s pretty spot on. People like this aren’t great with interlopers. And Posy isn’t nice. She’s entitled, rude and pompous and she does change as her friendship with Lucas develops. She’s lost her mum early in her life and clearly this has had a profound effect on her and perhaps this could have been explored a little further. There were also a LOT of family members to keep track of and some of the time given over to them might have been better served in deepening Posy’s character. For instance, when Lucas’s mum comes to speak to Posy. Although Posy has a mother figure, she doesn’t have her mum and the contrast with Lucas’s loyal and steadfast mother could have been emphasised even more.

Lucas is a much more likeable character, but again, I was aching for a little more depth, particularly in the way in which he forges a bond with Posy in the face of all their history and the way her family talks about him. Why does he want to be with her? I never really understood it beyond the physical attraction.

All that being said, it’s an enjoyable read and I recommend it to anyone who loves this trope.

The Reunion initially caught my attention as it contains some of my favorite tropes, enemies-to-lovers and fake dating. Posy and Lucas's story was a fun quick read. I do wish that we got to see more relationship building between the two characters especially since the ending felt a little rushed. While this was not my favorite book, I still found this enjoyable and think that this is great for readers who enjoy reading stories with these tropes.

The Reunion gives us the story of Lucas and Posy who had a hate/hate relationship while at school, reconnecting at a reunion. Both of them are at a turning point in their lives and to help each other agree to enter into a fake relationship but things are never as simple as they seem. The constant use of calling Lucas and his family 'the help' was repetitive and unnecessary. It felt there was a lot of background and then the main events we were building up to felt rushed.
I had quite high expectations for this novel but sadly it didn't quite hit the mark for me.

The Reunion by Elizabeth Drummond is a quick romcom with fake dating & enemies to lovers with Posy, an adventurous socialite heiress that gets cut off financially & Lucas, a down on his luck financial company owner.
The heroine’s distaste & ridicule of the hero in present time felt immature. The characters in generally seemed quite judgmental & I had trouble getting lost in the story when I couldn’t find someone to root for. The incessant degrading of professions deemed “the help” was too much. & then Posy’s family push to get married, which would then supposedly solve all her problems, felt so dated. I typically enjoy fake dating but the premise of this one was quite outrageous & too outlandish. I struggled to get into this story.
I have had a bad week in my personal life so perhaps that altered my capability to expand the realm of what I could believe & get into with a romance novel.
The author has a lovely writing style & is clearly clever, but these characters & the premise were not for me.

I was really excited for this book because the premise seemed so promising. However, in the end it fell a little flat for me. Whilst I did really love Lucas' character, Posy was hard to root for and I almost didn't care if she got a happy ending or not. A few of the scenarios were a little too far fetched for my liking and there was hardly any buildup/romantic tension. All in all, I just feel kind of indifferent about this book - I didn't hate it but I didn't love it either.

I was genuinely very excited for the premise of this, it was right up my alley. It comes from a pretty typical place of two people with very different lives. Unfortunately, where it falls down for me is Posy. She starts as the stereotype of the spoiled, weathly character. And while the book tells us that she grows, I don't see it. For me, she only continued to frustrate me as the book went on.

Not only that but I couldn't see where the feelings started to develop between them. I'm a sucker for a romance but I just wasn't rooting for these two.

Struggled quite a bit with this book, liked the idea, who doesn’t love a good enemies to lovers type story. But it was really slow and hard to get into. I considered giving up a couple of times sadly. And Posy, the main female character, was a bit unlikeable making it hard to care what the ultimate outcome was for her.

I've been reading quite a few enemies to lovers romances recently and I think comparing The Reunion to these has meant that this was pretty average in comparison to some great ones that I've read.
It took me a while to get into this because of how slow it ultimately was.
And sadly I just couldn't find myself rooting for our main character Posy. For some reason I couldn't warm to her, at all. She wasn't really all that likeable and that affected my enjoyment of this.
I would have much rather had a book from the point of view of her best friend Tara. She was one of the only characters that I actually liked and felt more than one dimensional.
The ending also felt rushed.
This just wasn't for me.

I was very excited to read this book because I enjoy reading the enemies to lovers trope very much. But, this was an okayish story that I did not much care for.

Some instances very interesting but for the most part it felt that the story was dragging along.

As it is a romance and the ending was not a surprise just the fact of how it is brought about but the climax felt flat. Not something that I will pick again.

Just what I needed on this dreary rainy day! Quirky characters drive a tale of boy meets girl, boy hates girl, girl hates boy…and then they meet again at their school reunion. Charming, heartwarming and often laugh out loud funny! I highly recommend this romcom to brighten any day!
