"Daisy Darker" really had me for most of the book. It was a nice suspenseful, slow-burn that really kept me going. Right up until the very end with the big, ridiculous twist, which really just brought the whole book down for me.

Alice Feeney is one of my favorite authors and her latest novel Daisy Darker is a perfect example of why!! This mystery/thriller had me on the edge of my seat until the very end. The storyline centers around a dysfunctional family that gather for their matriarch’s 80th birthday. Just as the gathering gets underway, family members mysteriously start dropping like flies!!! This who-done-it is extremely well crafted and had me truly stumped—I really enjoyed that I was genuinely surprised with the different twists and turns throughout this 5 star novel! Alice Feeney has consistently written original and epic novels that have me glued to my kindle! I highly recommend Daisy Darker to absolutely everyone!

One page in and I was completely hooked. Daisy Darker is a twisted tale than you will not be able to put down!

What happens when your entire family is invited to an island birthday party and everyone starts being murdered, one by one? This one was wild. There's a creepy poem, lots of unprocessed childhood trauma, a hurricane-like storm, and a super twisty ending. (I never know if it's super twisty or if I just didn't pick up on the clues). Definately recommended if you like Alice Feeney's books.

I was so hyped to read this book because Rock Paper Scissors is one of my all time favorite books.

I was so disappointed in this book because I figured out the big twist within the first four chapters! There was a couple twists that I didn’t guess but the BIG one was so obvious for me and it made the rest of the book painful to read.

I think overall most people won’t guess the twist and will love it. I wish I would have been one of those people. 😂

This was one of my most anticipated reads of the year and then I guessed the plot twist at 10% in. Such a disappointment. Even the atmospheric writing about the manor house couldn't save this one for me.

Daisy Darker is a terrific story about a terrible family. The Royal Tenenbaums meets Wuthering Heights in this twisty thriller.

Daisy Darker is an amazing read. It keeps you guessing right up to the end. Daisy is an endearing character who brings readers into a world that has complicated family dynamics and edge-of-your-seat suspense. Find out "whodunnit" in this excellent book.

I enjoy Alice Feeney ..And did not see the twist although it was not an earth shattering one. I suppose I wanted more. Though, this could definitely make for a good tv movie. The Darker family have all arrived for Nana's 80th birthday..the house is set on an isle where once the tide comes in, there's no leaving. The house is eccentric with many clocks chiming on the hour. She has cut everyone out of her will. With nightfall the fun begins, one by one they each succumb to death. But who among them? or is there someone else in the house? We also get glimpses of the family as the children and all the dysfunction that goes with.

If Agatha Christie and Lemony Snicket wrote a screenplay and then the movie was directed by Wes Anderson, it would be this book.

This story is thoroughly chilling, just, wow, it truly is "darker". It is a story of family. An exploration of relationships, especially that of siblings. Expect to be reminded that it is the people closest to us that we love and hate the most. It is the weaving of that truth which elevates this book from just creepy to terrifying.

I came in expecting to read Feeney’s signature thriller with that killer twist and what i got felt like if Agatha Christie wrote a story in a children's book style. I definitely enjoyed Daisy Darker and really enjoyed the twists and turns throughout the plot.

This book was a huge wowzer!!! I love Feeney's books, but this one was special and I find myself still thinking about it weeks after finishing it. A "Then There Were None" style mystery, you won't believe the twist! Loved it and can't wait for more. Have been telling all of my customers about this gem and can't wait to get it in the store.

WOW.ZERS. This was an amazing ride! I stayed up way past my bedtime on a work night to finish, then started the book all over again. I cannot stop thinking about the ending. This is definitely going in our library collection!

Alice Feeney has created one of her most inventive and shocking stories to date. The Darker family is in a league of their own when it comes to family drama. A creepy whodunit takes a VERY dark and unusual turn- when you think you're getting a big reveal, you end up with more questions. Feeney took what could have a procedural domestic thriller and amped it up with supernatural undertones. It shouldn't make sense- but Alice Feeney has managed to create one of her most compelling works to date.

Set in an isolated, spooky old house on the eve of Halloween, and written in the spirit of Agatha Christie's "And Then There Were None," the Darkers meet for a somewhat forced family reunion and find themselves trapped as someone begins to kill them off one by one. Daisy Darker, the central character, takes on the role of a somewhat silent observer to the madness of the night as she reflects back on the family history that has brought them all to this moment. Daisy is a somewhat unusual character, and not always a likeable one; the same can be said of most of her family members as well. However, this is somehow still a good read. It's an engaging, if not entirely unpredictable, story that comes together perfectly in the end, as all good books should.
