great book and had me on my seat. I enjoyed the characters and all that happened in the book. I enjoyed being in this world and seeing the growth of the characters. I enjoyed the drama of the story and I can't wait to read others books by this author.

I loved Kill the Boy Band by the same author, and her take on Lord of the Flies is a send-up of the classic English boy murder novel, as well as the meme-worthy Fyre Festival, cheese sandwiches and all. Characters are delightfully over-the-top and even though you know what's going to happen its a wild ride. Strong LGBTQ representation is featured as well.

A huge thank you to NetGalley and Macmillan Children's Publishing Group for this digital ARC for 'Lord of the Fly Fest' by Goldy Moldavsky. This review will be posted to Goodreads closer to the Publishing date which is in August 2022.

Think 'Lord of the Flies' meets Fyre Festival...
....even the cheese sandwiches are featured, and some celebrities that supported Fyre Festival are alluded to!

One of the most fun things about reading this book was being able to pair the characters and symbols with their LotF counterparts. A modern day retelling that's definitely relatable for students, and brilliantly written!

I can't wait to be able to add this to my personal library, and also pair this eventually in the classroom. My one regret is that my campus already placed, and received our book order, and we won't be able to make this an addition to our department bookroom for awhile.

I enjoyed this book. The prose was well-written, and the characters were dynamic and jumped off the page. I thought the story was interesting and the plot kept me guessing.
