This was super cute, but not compelling enough to hold my interest the whole way through. If you're looking for a low angst, sweet, closed door romance (a few sexy kisses that we know lead to more), then this might be right up your alley. There's nothing that I didn't like about the story, there just wasn't enough to keep me hooked. The vibe is light and playful, with likable characters and a friendly feud between new neighbors. I think I liked this one better than the first book in the series (not required reading), and I was close to giving a 4-star rating. All in all, a sweet yet forgettable read with romance at the heart of it.
The story follows Grace, an aspiring interior designer who is finally ready to move into the house she inherited. It needs plenty of renovations, but Grace is up to the challenge - and excited to make it her own. The only problem? Her sexy and infuriating new neighbor, Noah, a wealthy suit and tie kinda guy who wants to buy Grace's new home. The two clash over renovations and differences of opinion, but it's not long before these neighbors become fast friends with the hint of something more. As they work on renovating their respective houses, the two realize that it takes more than a redesign to make a home.
I really enjoyed the low angst, easy feel, though it gets a little TOO low angst after awhile. Typically, an enemies to lovers romance has more tension and bickering, while this was all lighthearted. Not necessarily a bad thing, but there wasn't enough friction to keep things interesting. Really, the only things keeping these two apart were their own hangups, so it was a low stakes romance. I did love Noah and how sweet he was, and I liked that he wasn't the typical broody businessman. There are so many cute scenes, and the romance was kinda swoony. I found myself bored and it was easy to put down, but I enjoyed the book as I was reading it - and there was nothing major standing in the way of a higher rating. It's the kind of book that I'll probably forget about sooner rather than later, but sometimes that's the kind of low angst romance readers are looking for.
Audio note: The audio was kind of like the plot - easygoing and forgettable. It's single narration, with a female narrator who mostly sounds like she's just reading the book. Not much of a "performance," but her voice was nice and enhanced the read a bit. Since the book is dual perspective, dual narration certainly would've been the better choice, but this was well done. No major issues here either. The story lends itself well to a weekday listen - there's nothing steamy about the book, it's light and fun, and the runtime is just right for a day at the office. I listened while working, and it certainly made the day go faster.

I am thankful I got an advanced copy from netgalley. This was a cute story of rival neighbours that turned into something more.

There is a fine line between love and hate, but property wars can really intensify those feelings even more when the owners of the properties are incredibly attracted to each other. Add in that each is carrying enough emotional baggage to fill more than two houses and you have an explosively entertaining read or listen in this case! The narrator does an outstanding job of bringing these characters to life and infusing the perfect tone for this entertaining listen! Delightfully funny, touching and romantic while dealing with the real-life issue of being raised by sub-par parents albeit on completely different financial spectrums of life. I have to say that I am quite intrigued to read or listen to more stories from this author!

Grace and Noah each have homes next door to each other. Grace was left the house by her grandparents, and it needs some work. Noah has recently bought his house and would like to buy Grace's house to knock it down and put in a pool. Noah is a rich and powerful grump, while Grace is our sunshine girl, trying to finish a degree in interior design, and doing odd jobs to earn money in the meantime. The two clash right away.
This is your standard enemies to lovers trope but with the fun of home rennovation thrown in. The two main characters have a very slow burn romance that builds, and their chemistry builds into something great, while remaining a closed door romance. It was sweet, while also dealing with issues from each character's past that are holding them back. A very fun and sweet romance, that I enjoyed a lot!
Thank you to Macmillan Audio for providing me with an ARC of this audiobook via NetGalley in exchange for my honest review.

First of all this has a great cover. I love the background colour and it really drew me in and made me wonder what was going to happen. The story revolves around Grace who moves into her late grandparent's house with big plans to renovate and make it her own. The only problem is her new next door neighbour Noah has plans of his own to purchase the property so that he can extend his property and put in a pool. As you can imagine this is the start of a rivalry but when Noah finds out that Grace is studying to be a interior designer he realizes that he could use this to his advantage and possibly wear her down until she sells the house. I enjoyed the story especially all the fun interior design/renovation bits especially when they play "Trading Spaces" I would have preferred that there was more conflict in the beginning when they first met and more spice, but that's a personal preference. I did enjoy narrator of this one, her voices were good.

I received an early copy of this audiobook from Netgalley and Macmillan Audio! All opinions are my own!
First of all, I relate to Grace so much that I was automatically hooked by this book. She is so genuine and yet funny at the same time, and I absolutely adore her. It made the whole book that much more real and enjoyable. I did absolutely hate Noah at first, though I think that was the point of the way that he was written. I could essentially picture the kind of man Noah was at the start of the book, and it grated on my nerves so much.
But then we get to know the real Noah and find out so much more about him, and I fell right along with Grace! Their banter is hilarious and it's so refreshing. They have a lot of chemistry, not just romantically but also as friends. It made the book even more relatable because I could see myself in Grace's shoes. (even though I could never possibly design a home)
Toward the beginning of the book, the story did feel a bit choppy. But as it went on, I was utterly hooked and falling deeper in love with Noah!
If you're a fan of romcoms, definitely check this one out!

I’m a sucker for anything home renovation and this definitely fit the bill. The story was cute, the main characters were adorable, and the setting was great. There just wasn’t anything different in this story than any other romance I’ve read lately. The enemies-to-lovers barely had any tension at all. He asked, she said no, end of story. I enjoyed the time I spent with Grace, Noah, and their friends and can recommend this for the beach or a quick vacation read.

How to Love Your Neighbor by Sophie Sullivan
Contemporary romantic comedy. Grumpy - Sunshine troupe.
Grace has inherited her grandparents home and is finally ready to actually move in and start updating and renovating. If only Noah, the gorgeous next door neighbor, would stop offering to buy it from her. To Grace, it’s more than just a house. It’s a connection to her history and also a symbol she’s ready move forward to loving and enjoying life. It’s a home.
A cute enemies to lovers romcom. I enjoyed the banter and contests between the two. Clever but also good that neither held a grudge and leaned toward good humor.
I knew the mother was going to be a problem from the very beginning. It was inevitable.
The seniors are funny. Stereotypical, but humorous.
The love story was adorable and I liked the inclusion of her friends and his brothers.
Stories with humor and romance are my favorite.
🎧 I alternated between an ebook copy and an audiobook. The audiobook was narrated by Chloe Dolandis who did a wonderful job on the performance, keeping it mostly lite and cheerful, while also clearly expressing the grumpy Noah and gruff Morty. While I enjoyed both versions, the audiobook gave me happiness.
I listened to the audiobook at 1.5 to match my local area standard as well as reading speed to follow along with the print version.
I received a copy of this from NetGalley and Macmillan audio.

2.5 stars for this closed-door romance
An enemies-to-lovers romance. Noah wants to buy the house next door and tear it down to build a swimming pool. Grace inherited said house from her grandparents and has no intention of selling it. Ever. Through bets, competition, negotiation, etc... their relationship develops. They have chemistry. Then, when they are forced to work together, things really get interesting.
I am kind of meh about this book. It was OK. It is entirely too long- it dragged on at times. Also, Noah is really hard to take in the beginning. It wasn't bad, but it also isn't going to stay with me. I just finished it 20 minutes ago and really had to think to come up with Noah's name.
I listened to the audiobook. This is the first book I've listened to narrated by Chloe Dolandis. She did a good job. I only wish they had used a male narrator for Noah's POV. I always enjoy dual narration.
I received a copy in exchange for an honest review.

I LOVED How to Love Your Neighbor so much when I read it as an e-arc. However, I could not get into the audiobook at all :( I love the banter, the romance, and the family dynamic of this book so much and I would recommend you physically picking up this book!

#HowToLoveYourNeighbor:
I loved Ten Rules for Faking It last year. Then, Sophie Sullivan starts this off with a Merin Morris lyric. I snuggled in and was ready to just fall in love, again.
Grace Travis was the sweetest MC. She was strong, caring, compassionate, and hilarious. I got her. When she sang “come and knock on my door” in the same breath that I did because of “Three’s Company” just really helped me adore her.
Honestly, I was not a fan of Noah. He was such a… douche. (Sorry not sorry) he did redeem himself later on, but I may have cheered against him a time.. or six. I wanted better for our girl Grace, and the enemies to lovers to stay enemies. But once we got to really understand his interior a bit more, I cheered for them.
I did think about 70% in, we were wrapping it up. I didn’t realize we still had 30% left! I was happy that we did get to see more of Grace & Noah’s dynamic with their toxic parents. I felt that played a huge role in who they are, and man do I want to shake their parents.
Chloe Dolandis was a wonderful reader. I thought they did so well on the emotion and hurt or snark felt in the stories. I sometimes forgot it was just one reader 😂
Thank you so much @macmillan.audio and @smpromance the gifted copy! How to Love Your Neighbor is out January 18th!
QOTD: if you could live next to any celeb, who would you want to be your neighbor?

This was not for me.
I was switching between kindle & audio (kindle was a better btw).
Everything felt underdeveloped.
The plot, the characters, the back story, they all seemed kind of lazily done.
I see lots of people loved this (which was why I scooped it up), so if you read it let me know what you liked about it. I am genuinely curious.
Thanks to NetGalley, St. Martin's Press & Macmillan Audio for my DRCs.

Perfect book for fans of HGTV and the Hallmark Channel. A likable couple with a great cast of supporting characters.
Grace is a design student working multiple jobs to make ends meet. She recently inherited her grandparents' outdated bungalow in Harlow Beach, California and has plans to renovate it and settle down. Her next door neighbor, Noah, is a real estate developer trying to make his own start and break away from his successful father's influence. He moved into the fixer-upper next door and is determined to buy Grace's house to expand his property and build a pool. Even with Noah's sharp negotiation skills, Grace is reluctant to let the property go. When a famous magazine wants to photograph and record Noah's home makeover, he picks Grace to be the designer on the project. Noah convinces Grace that this will benefit them both and with time, the two instant enemies find out how thin the line between love and hate is.

How to Love Your Neighbor by Sophie Sullivan was a delightfully fun and creative romance between Grace and Noah. I lost myself in their romance. It started as an enemies-to-lovers and quickly transformed into a workplace romance. I love watching HGTV, so I appreciated the details about home remodeling since Grace is an interior design student. This is a closed-door romance with multiple POVs. This could be standalone, but I enjoyed the moments with Chris and Everly from Ten Rules for Faking It making appearances in this book. This romance gave me all the right feels!
Thank you, St. Martin's Griffin and Macmillan Audio, for my gifted copies to review honestly.

How to Love Your Neighbor is a fun enemies to lovers romance. Grace moves in to a small beach house left to her by her grandparents. Her next door neighbor is Noah, some rich guy who wants to buy her house and put in a pool in its place. Banter takes place, they get to know each other, more banter and fights and they start to fall for each other. Standard enemies to friends to lovers. The book is a cute and overall lighthearted romcom. The romance is closed door so if you aren’t here for the spice you’re all good with this one.
Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for the advance copy of this audiobook! This book comes out next week!
This review will be posted on Instagram as well!

This was a fun enemies to lovers storyline. I enjoyed the house fixer-upper plot as well. I would have enjoyed more to both pieces of the story though. The enemies didn't feel played up as much as it could have been, and I would have loved more details about the house. however, this was a light, and easy-to-read story that readers are going to enjoy!

I felt that this book was a fun and light read. It was easy to fall into this story and begin this home renovation journey between the two neighbors. I liked how the neighbors started off as "enemies" and eventually began to help each other complete their goal. I liked how the author not only focused on the relationship between the two characters, but also highlighted other important relationships in their lives. This book had a nice balance of romance, home reno, and character development.

I love the idea of a romcom meets HGTV story line but in the end it didn’t really work out for me.
We follow Grace and Noah in an enemies-to-lovers storyline. I felt like there wasn’t much of the enemies portion and the love part was very rushed. We didn’t have time to really connect with their relationship. I didn’t feel like I was invested in seeing the HEA. I also saw this was a grump/sunshine trope and Noah definitely wasn’t nearly grumpy enough for me.
I enjoyed the last half more than the first but I still didn’t feel invested in the story. Also this is a closed door/fade to black romance which I feel like just added to me not feeling connected to the characters relationship.
If you prefer a fade to black romance and love an HGTV storyline than this one may work for you!
Thank you Netgalley and Macmillan Audio for my advanced listening copy.

This was a heartfelt, humorous enemies to lovers romance between two neighbors working on renovating their homes outside of LA. I really enjoyed this closed door, dual perspective love story, even more than the author's first book. The cameos with Chris and Everly were fun and the secondary cast of characters were strong. Great on audio and highly recommended, especially for fans of HGTV shows. Much thanks to NetGalley and the Macmillan Audio for my advance listening copy!

This was the perfect enemies to friends to co-workers to lovers story, or something like that!
Grace is an interior design student struggling to make ends meet when she (literally) runs into Noah, her soon-to-be neighbor who happens to be a real estate developer and also happens to really want her house.
What starts as a great business proposition for the two of them turns into.... Well, you have to read it and find out.
Read this if you like interior design, dogs, and cute nicknames.
The narrator did an exceptional job and this was so easy and wonderful to listen to!
Thanks so much to Netgalley for an EARC in exchange for an honest review! This book will be released on January 18th!
