I absolutely adore Tijan and have been a fan of her writing for years. Unfortunately, I did not finish this title. I felt that the female narration was truly dreadful and I just could not listen to it anymore.

I always try and give people a chance. I can't imagine how difficult it would be to narrate a book. However, I listen to about four books a week through Audible, so I am confident in saying that her narration would not hold up long, among her many competitors..

I'm hoping after the bad taste wears off, I am able to purchase the book and start this title again. As I said, I do love Tijan!

As Always, Happy Reading!

I received a copy of this audio book from the publisher via NetGalley.
I absolutely loved Bailey and Kash in The Insiders. I was so excited to see that I received a copy of The Damaged to find out what was going on in their life. I was flying through the pages trying to figure out what was going to happen next and where in the work this was going to end up. I can say I had no idea this was going to end the way it did. I was on the edge of my seat who is a friend, who is an enemy pretending to be a friend, who is lying, who is betraying them.
Bailey Hayes was always the one on the sidelines or in the back ground, never one to stand out or be noticed. Now that the world knows who her father and boyfriend is she cannot get out of the spotlight. She is trying to navigate graduate school all whiling dealing with things that are going on in her head, her past, and just around her in general. Kash helps to ground her and protects her.
Kash is still full of secrets and keeps part of his life away from Bailey to protect her. Kash Grandfather is out to get him. They are both constantly trying to stay one step ahead of the other. Only problem is Kash’s Grandfather knows his Achilles heel. We get a small glimpse into what all Kash does for his family and Bailey.
I still have so many questions regarding Kash and his family. I enjoyed seeing Bailey get a “normal” day out. I love that the chemistry between Kash and Bailey is still intense. I enjoy seeing the playful side of Kash when he would let that side show. Even though we got to see more of Kash and the Francis family there are still so many secrets and things that need to be explained. As with The Insider the plot is still amazing, I’m not sure who all the players are in this story good or bad. One minute you think someone is a good person and then your like wow didn’t see that coming. The ending of this one had me on the edge of my seat and now I need to know more of this family and how things are going to end.
Emma Galvin and Joe Arden are both new voices for me. I enjoyed hearing Emma as the voice of the heroine. Her voice was soft but could be firm when needed which is what I thought Bailey's voice would be when I read the book. Joe Arden did a great job as being the voice of Kash. His voice was powerful but softened when around Bailey. Their narration of the book made me not want to stop it any time.

This is the second book in Tijan's 'The Insiders' series.

Bailey's entire world has been turned upside down when she realizes that the life she has led as someone out of the spotlight is about to come to a crashing halt. When a picture is snapped of Bailey and Kash together, the entire world comes to learn about Bailey. Now she has bodyguards following her around, while trying to get her graduate degree, and live a somewhat normal life. Kash's grandfather isn't stopping in his quest to make Kash's life miserable, and has no problem hurting Bailey to do so.

Tijan's books are always just *chef's kiss* but this series is above and beyond! Kash and Bailey are back with more secrets to uncover, more drama, and more sizzling chemistry!

If you love a dark romance like I do, you absolutely need to read this series! One of Tijan's best to date!

I loved this audiobook and series! The ending had me on the end of my seat. Can you say cliffhanger?! So excited for the third installment!

Tijan never disappoints in her ability to provide a quick paced, sexy story. The Damaged is the second in The Insiders Trilogy. It picks up with the main character, Bailey struggling to recover from the events that happened in The Insiders. In addition, her boyfriend Cash is left feeling over-protective and concerned for her.

Bailey is a likable character. She comes from humble beginnings but has been thrust into the spotlight due to the other people in her life. Those looking on might think it's the ideal life, but Bailey is under a great deal of stress. As she tries to maneuver her way through a new graduate program and brand new friendships, she is also left wading through Cash's friend group and some remaining hostility from the girls in that circle. Meanwhile, Cash is has just been exposed as one of the world's wealthiest men. While all he really wants to do is spend time with Bailey, he is forced to take on the business dealings of his position and protect himself and those he loves from his brutal and heartless grandfather.

The story focuses on twenty somethings living an excessive lifestyle so the storyline may seem over the top at times. However, it's quite entertaining and kept me hooked until the cliffhanger ending. Now I'm eagerly awaiting book three....

AUDIOBOOK REVIEW: I like to be able to go back and forth between an ebook and audiobook when possible. I really enjoyed doing that with this book. The narrator's voice for Bailey fit my image of her perfectly. She seemed very young and non-pretentious. It was like listening to a college student talk, in my opinion which was perfect. Cash's viewpoint was more minimal than Bailey's. But his narrator was spot on for his personality as well. Everything blended together well. 4 stars for audio.

Thank you to NetGalley for this ARC. I voluntarily chose to review it and the opinions contained within are my own.

If you haven't check out book one, The Insiders, stop now. Go check that out!

Now, you have to read these books in order, and The Damaged picks up where we left thing at the end of The Insiders. Bailey and Kash are together, and we get to see more of their relationship develop, which I LOVED. Bailey is dealing with her PTSD from the events in book 1, so things are smooth sailing. But, Kash is primo book boyfriend material, and you get his POV in this one. I also loved seeing more of the bond between Bailey and her siblings.

Now, this book is not without the danger and action and the ending will leave you gobsmacked and dying to get your hands on book 3! Don't say I didn't warn you! Also, the narrators, Emma Alvin and Joe Arden, do a wonderful job!

I was provided an audio ARC via Netgalley and Macmillan Audio, all opinions are my own.

This was ok but it was missing the intensity and suspense that The Insiders had. The suspense kicked up towards, but I would have liked a bit more throughout the entire book. Much like the first book, this has the feel of Tijan's other mafia themed books. This installment reminded me alot of Canary, especially when it comes to how the characters deal with trauma and emotions. Our main character Bailey has been pretty traumatized after teh events that took place in book one. She has been raised to not cry or show emotion as it is a sign of weakness. She is doing everything she can to push down her emotion and avoid dealing with her trauma. As you can imagine this is not going well for her especially as she is starting a challenging masters degree program at her dream school and her life as Peter Francis' daughter and Kashton Colello's girlfriend is now public information. She is social media fodder and that is stress she doesn't need. Much like her emotions, Bailey's character is kind of all over the place in this book. She's still insanely smart when it comes to her school works, then in the next second she is completely insecure when it comes to her relationships with her family and Kash. That being said Kash while part of the story spends alot of time off of the page making moves and keeping Bailey in the dark. Matt and Bailey are building on their relationship and I liked that they are getting closer and can lean on each other.

As with book one there are some graphic sexual scenes, alcohol consumption, and violence. This was a fast, easy read. It is full of drama, and sets us up for what is sure to be an epic showdown between Kash and his grandfather.

Tijan is weaving together romantic suspense, billionaires, and mafia vibes to perfection with this trilogy! This is one of those books that make me question why I ever let myself start a trilogy/series that isn’t all available yet! I need to know what happens next for Kash & Bailey like I need air.
After finishing the first book, The Insiders, was dying to get my hands on the next one. I am so fortunate to have had the opportunity to read and listen to this as an ARC and will now again be anxiously awaiting the release of the next book before this one even officially releases.
I feel like saying much more than how much I loved the first two books in this trilogy would be spoilers, because the entire ride is what makes them so special. So, you’ll just have to check them out for yourself to get the details!
If you haven’t already, I highly recommend grabbing The Insiders now and reading in preparation for this release coming up soon! If you enjoy audiobooks like I do, Joe Arden and Emma Galvin knock the audio out of the park with both The Insiders and The Damaged, serving as the absolute perfect voices of Kash and Bailey.
I hit the ARC jackpot with this one- being approved for both the eBook and the audio! So, I did my own version of whisper-sync, following along on my kindle while listening to the audio. Either way you read it, The Damaged is another incredible installment in an all-consuming trilogy. Thank you to Tijan, St. Martin's Griffin (SMP Romance), Macmillion Audio, and NetGalley for the opportunity to read/listen and provide my honest review!

I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts and options are my own.

Starting off right where book one ends, The Damaged is a fast paced, nail biting mystery from beginning to end. I didn’t mention this in my first review for a big one but I’ll mention it now, all of the side characters that we meet throughout book one and this book play such a vital role to the story. Each and every single one of them are very important and though some are not likable, most of them I love. Throughout this book we see not only how Bailey and Kash’s relationship grows and gets even more intense, but we see how much Bailey‘s relationship with her siblings and father changes and gets stronger. I really don’t want to go into too many details of the book because I feel like I’d give something away, but overall I did enjoy this book. Some parts felt a little repetitive and unnecessary but overall I thought this book was great. I’m certainly anxious to see how things end with this series and would like book 3 right now, because that ending killed me!

I was also fortunate enough to listen to the audio for this book as well and I thought that the narrators, Emma Galvin & Joe Arden did such a great job. I am a hug fan of Joe Arden, he always does a phenomenal job. This is my first time ever listening to Emma Galvin and she did fantastic!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Book 2 of a crazy trilogy! I think I liked this better than book 1.And this cover is sexy as hell! The book is fast pasted with all the same characters. They were all looking for normal and that didn’t happen. And Matt.Matt…Matt! Are you ever going to get your life together?
It’s clear everyone here is privileged and it’s a simple life. Or is it?
Lots of steam in this one with our favorite characters and a whole lot of enemies. And I think everyone needs therapy. Things are so complicated.
Am I going to read book 3??? Of course.

I chose to listen to this book on audio. And this was Narrated by Emma Galvin and Joe Arden. They did a lovely job.
Thanks Macmillan Audio via NetGalley.

Really enjoyed this one. I didn’t care for the female narrator but over all very good story. Would recommend to a friend

Bailey is trying to fit in after EVERYBODY finds out WHO her father is while still trying to bond with her new found family. Her and Kash are as HOT as ever. They both seem to have enemies coming from both sides. I enjoyed THE DAMAGED and think it fits in nicely with the series. I kept thinking throughout the book that even after some
of the twists and turns, I was still waiting for that O. M. F. G. moment. Tijan did NOT disappoint. For the last hour or so I was on the edge of my seat and then B. A. M. she went and dropped THAT ending. I CANNOT wait for the last book to come out. I want to know how Bailey’s story is going to end so bad!!

Holy, Kash Colello, this book! That ending!

Ok, ok, back up. The Damaged is the second book in the Insiders trilogy by Tijan. This book picks up a couple weeks after the events in The Insiders. Bailey Hayes is the formerly secret daughter of tech genius Peter Francis and it had just come out that she was such and the girlfriend of Kashton Colello all around badass and billionaire when she was kidnapped (no spoiler, unless you haven’t read the first book and, in that case, SPOILER ALLERT). In The Damaged we follow Bailey as she navigates her new status, life, and graduate program while she tries to figure out her role in this new life and who she wants/needs to be. Still dealing with the traumas of the past few months, Bailey is just as confused as ever about her life and herself. Matt Francis (whom I am under the strong opinion deserves his own book bc he is simply the best) is also trying to figure out just who he is and who he wants to be. Kash is at war with his grandfather, the ever-dangerous Calhoun Bastian.

Man, my nerves are done. Fried. Is the next book out yet bc I NEED more. I need answers. I need something. This book is one fast paced even after another and then concludes with a BANG. Like, my brain doesn’t want to handle this.

The narrators are fantastic. I was already a fan of Joe Arden from previous audiobooks but Emma Galvin really brought Bailey to life.

THE DAMAGED An Insiders Novel by Tijan
This is the second book in the Insiders series. This second book is just as reviting as the first. Bailey and Kash have gotten closer and fallen for each other. Things are heating up with EVERYTHING. Kash is going head to head with his grandfather. There is going to be damage, but where it will fall, who knows... When things settle down, will Kash be able to convince Bailey to trust him again? Definitely a 5 star read.
The narration was done by Emma Galvin and Joe Arden. They have done a great job with it.

The Damaged (An Insiders Novel) by Tijan
Narrated by Emma Galvin & Joe Arden
Publisher: Macmillan Audio
Genre: Romance
Publication Date: February 8, 2022

The Damaged is the second book in The Insiders Trilogy by Tijan. I absolutely loved the first book and could not wait for this one!!!

The Damaged picks up right after the first book and just keeps going! Filled with non-stop suspense, drama, and unexpected twists, I could not get enough of this book!

The narration by Emma Galvin and Joe Arden was awesome! Emma Glavin IS Bailey, I can't imagine anyone else reading her part. I loved the depth they brought to this audiobook!

I can't wait for The Revenge to be published later this year!!!

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

This series is killing me in the best ways possible.
The growth in the relationships that Bailey started to form in book one was astronomical. Her family, her and Kash, even the relationship she had with herself.
I think Matt was probably my most surprising character, and that’s all I’m saying about him.
The twists and turns really do keep me on my toes, and I never can pinpoint where the hits are coming from. It’s like fist fighting with a blindfold, but give me multiple attackers and my hands are behind my back.
I cannot spoil this. But I am dyingggggg for the next release, and I know it’s so far away!

Update: 1/22-

The audio to this is SO GOOD! I was on the edge of my seat the whole time, and it’s just brought back how much I NEED the next book in the series.

Thanks NetGalley for this audiobook arc !

Cliffhangers suck !! But this book was so good ! As soon as I started listening to it I couldn’t stop.
So much drama in this one, I loved it. This book has dual POV. Which is my fave ! I love knowing what both main characters are thinking. The ending will have you wanting more

This is the second book in the series and I love the audio version of the book The Damaged. It's like you are right there with the characters feeling everything. The second book picks up where The Insiders left off. Bailey and Kash are together but there are still forces at play to keep them apart. Kash's grandfather is out to destroy him and anyone he loves with the help of Quinn, Camilla Story, and Victoria Kash's ex. There is always a threat looming in the shallows to get to Bailey. There are so many moving parts in this book, when you think you have all the players another one appears. But the question is will Bailey and Kash survive this latest tragedy that has to happen to Bailey? Or will she hate Kash for bringing his grandfather into her life? There is so much destruction in this book and what is with the Ser and Cy aunt the Quinn look alike? What role does she play in the book? So many unanswered questions when you get to the end of the book but I loved it and I know it has to be a book three because it could not end like that.

I absolutely love this series! When The Insiders came out I was a little nervous that her voice would change since this is a traditionally published series, but rest assured this is still classic Tijan! You get all of the crazy characters, along with fantastic world building, and don't even get me started on how suspenseful and emotional the plot is!

In The Damaged, we're thrown back into the world of Bailey Hayes and Kashton Colello right where we left off. From the start I was deep in my feels! She is able to describe the emotions of the characters with such detail that it's hard not to feel them yourself.

The plot was so suspenseful and there was so. much. drama. I absolutely loved it! The twists and turns had me feeling like I was standing on the edge of a cliff.

I was able to listen to the audiobook version and the narrators are amazing! Emma Galvin is so great especially when it comes to emotion (and there is plenty!) and JOE. ARDEN. *swoon* there aren't many chapters from the male POV but listening to him is just wonderful.

I am highly recommending the series to everyone I know even though we have to wait for book 3 after that ridiculous cliffhanger!
