Audiobook: Narrators - Emma Galvin & Joe Arden

Ms. Galvin is definitely the voice of Bailey and after listening to her in The Insiders as well as this one, I can’t imagine anyone else. While the hero does not have a lot of “voice” time, what he does have is excellently performed by Mr. Arden. Great delivery of Kash and his dominant, authoritative nature.

This had the drama, angst, heat and sizzle that I found in book one but actually better because Bailey and Kash are fighting together towards the same goal. I loved watching them as they maneuvered each problem that arose. Not as individuals, but as a couple that were committed to each other. I wasn’t expecting them to be as solid as they were and it was a delicious treat to experience it. This ends in a whopping cliffhanger and some INTENSE angst dangling over the reader's head. I cannot wait to learn what happens!

The Damaged starts where The Insiders ends. Absolutely intriguing story. Very suspenseful and kept me on edge most of the book.

Follow Kash and Bailey through their journey of being in the spotlight was no doubt a wild ride!

Emma and Joe are great together! Loved the narration.

The Damaged by Tijan was full all the delicious drama that I simply couldn't get enough. This picks up right where The Insiders left off. Bailey and Kash's relationship is steady and solid. Plus they are the couple who have each other's backs till the end. Swoon! Emma Galvin and Joe Arden narrate the audio, and do a fabulous job bringing Bailey and Kash to to life. Emma is truly Bailey in delivering how smart, driven, and fierce her character is in her performance. Joe Arden portrays Kash brilliantly showcasing his loyal, alpha, and protective personality. This book is the middle book in this awesome Insiders trilogy, and will leave you guessing and wanting more! I'm looking forward to more from Tijan.

I really enjoyed being back with these characters! Bailey is working on her Masters degree & Kash is taking care of business, trying to keep everyone alive. With money & fame surrounding them, everyone either wants to be them or help take them down. Lots of enemies, coming from all different directions! Tons of drama.

These two are seriously hot together 🔥 I loved that we got Kash’s POV in this one. It’s refreshing to read a romance novel with a strong couple, facing trouble together without a bunch of relationship drama. The audiobook is narrated by Emma Galvin & Joe Arden, who do an outstanding job with these characters. I’m not happy with the cliffy at the end - I want book 3 NOW!

Many thanks to NetGalley, Tijan & MacMillan Audio for providing me with an advanced copy of the audiobook in exchange for an honest review!

Book review:

3.5 Stars

The Damaged was a good read overall. I enjoyed the tension and drama. The introduction of new characters and a new setting for Bailey at school brought a lot of interesting dynamics to the read. I didn't think there was nearly enough interaction between Kash and Bailey. It was a whole lot of Bailey left to fend for herself and trying to figure things out, with minimal information. I enjoyed the bond that Matt and Bailey continued to build on as new found siblings. They evened each other out well in this story.

This read had a ton of filler, which is pretty typical of the second book in a trilogy. I just craved something more. For a story line with so much chaos and deception and so many webs already have been spun, there wasn't enough going on in this one.

That ending I did not see coming! I thought it was an incredible cliffhanger for the story.

Review on narration:
I found the narration by Emma Galvin to be spot on for Bailey’s character! However, I didn’t think that Joe Arden was the right fit for Kash. While he’s a phenomenal narrator, his gruff voice was just too old for the character.
