Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for providing me with an Audio book in exchange for an honest review!

I smile, laugh and cry while reading this book. I regret not reading this before. I listened to audio book while reading and it was an amazing experience. This book is a cute rom com but also deals with heavy anxiety and it is written so well. I'm so impressed.

'Harper logged in to check her score, fingersjittery as she typed. It felt like acid was dripping into her chest.
B-
Fuck.
Harper pushed back from the table, tears stinging at her eyes, embarrassment and shame telling her to run'.

This scene was so relateable for me. I feel like I was reading about myself. I totally understand her anxiety. I really love how author wrote the scene.

I loved their relationship. It felt so real. Their first date of Grocery shopping was so amazing. And then that race. Omg! This book was everything. I felt so bad when she was pushing him away but I really understood her reasons. And Dan is such a sweetheart. I'm so glad he decided to pursue what he love.

I'm glad his mother understood later. And I don't blame her. I think she was just feeling guilty after everything happend.

This book is just so amazing! And I would definitely recommend.

This was such a fun audiobook! The narrators made me not want to put my phone down once. Very very entertaining. I loved every second of it! It was funny, sweet and so relatable.
I really enjoyed the love and cheesiness between Harper and Dan. It made me swoon.
My favourite part of the book was how accurate Harpers anxiety disorder was to mine, It was very realistic and made me feel understood. It was refreshing to read about a character having the same thing I have. Made me like Harper even more.

Overall I really enjoyed this and look forward to more books by Mazey Eddings!

4/5 ⭐️

This is such a SWEET love story, with just a pinch of spice. It’s one of the few romances that had a touch of STEM in it. It is a friends/colleagues to lovers and college aged MCs. It dealt with childhood trauma, anxiety, gender stigmas, and childhood adversity themes very well. The love story between the characters are beautiful. The characters are so relatable that I feel like these are friends I would have had going through college. Overall, I thoroughly loved it, so much that I finished it in one day.

Also, the audio production was perfect! The voices match with the characters very well. I've been a huge fan of Emily Lawrence. Her ability to read different characters is amazing.

Highly recommend 💯

“Harper, loving you is the easiest thing I’ll ever do.”

I am absolutely amazed by this book! This was everything I ever wanted in a a rom-com!!

Dan and Harper were absolutely adorable together and I love that they found support in each other. Overcoming obstacles is never easy so having that support is so important.

The anxiety representation had to be my favorite and it made Harper so relatable. I saw so much of myself in Harper and it was just amazing to have a character that was developed and thoroughly planned out.
I adored seeing what it’s like to struggle with anxiety.

The dual POV made this book that much greater! This book not only was a friends to lovers story but it also was a slow burn that deals with a lot of important topics which I loved.

I loved that it’s about a woman in STEM! Harper was so AMAZING. She didn’t take anyone’s BS and tried not to let anyone put her down. She is such a strong character and I appreciated how vulnerable her character was.

I love how much Dan cared for Harper and how understanding he was. He was literally a great support system and the part where he helped Harper at the party brought tears to my eyes! He was absolutely amazing and a fabulous book boyfriend. I loved how he discovered his own passion and overcame familial guilt.

This book was amazing! It was funny, charming, and heartbreaking all at once.
Thank you to NetGalley for the audiobook!

“Who’s your favorite person, Harper?”
“You.”

Love the mental health representation. Love the characters, especially Dental Dan. It was a bit slow burn for my taste, and a bit of miscommunication. But I'd def reach for it to read again!! So fluffy & lovey and comfortable.

This book is so adorable. Harper and Dan had immediate chemistry and I was rooting for them from their first interaction. Dan is one of the sweetest book boyfriends oh my gosh??? He was unconditionally supportive of Harper, which is exactly what someone with anxiety needs in a partner. Harper was so driven and inspiring; her character development had me teary-eyed. The mental health representation was very well done - as someone who also suffers from panic attacks like Harper, I felt very seen and connected to her. I also appreciate how this book showed the sexism women face in STEM environments and how Harper was able to stand up for herself. I definitely recommend!

This book was FANTASTIC!! I loved the portrayal of a main character with this level of anxiety and the way in which she was able to cope with it. I was able to connect with Harper on such a level as a woman in a STEM field and someone with anxiety! The relationship between her and Dan was amazing and I loved the way that they connected and grew!

The way that I would die for this book, this author and these characters…
Mazey is truly such a capable writer, I cannot sing her praises enough. From the depiction of Harper’s crippling anxiety and stress and Dan’s efforts to excel in a field that is weighing him done, I was so utterly in love with these characters and this story, I declared it a go-tier romance at page 24. I was definitely right.

Super Cute. This book wasn't life changing or super revolutionary, however, it was a perfect "palate cleanser book". It was a gentle light hearted read that was quick and easy to read! While I don't think it will be my favorite read this year, I would recommend it to anyone!

3.5/5 Stars

A special thank you to #NetGalley and St. Martin's Griffin for the ARC.

Cute and the dental school setting was unique. Sometimes felt overly dramatic. I may read the spin-offs because heroine’s friends had a lot of personality.

Really liked this adorable, quick read , actually “listen”, my first from Mazey Eddings. As a Licensed Therapist I enjoyed that this booked responsibly touched upon anxiety and generational trauma, even if geared a bit more for the YA audience.
Character development to be expected for a romcom genre, in that it’s pretty light and transparent. However, I liked the juxtaposition between Harper and Dan despite the predictability, it was still pretty sweet.
I enjoyed the Vikas Adam and Emily Lawrence and thought they sold the roles well!
Thank you to NetGalley and Macmillan Audio for this ARC in exchange for my honest feedback!

I received this book through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. ARC provided by Macmillan Audio.

Harper is anxiously awaiting placement into a top oral surgery residency program when she crashes into Dan. Harper would rather endure a Novocaine-free root canal than face any distractions, even one this adorable. A first-year dental student with a family legacy to contend with, Dan doesn’t have the same passion for pulling teeth that Harper does. Though he finds himself falling for her, he is willing to play by Harper’s rules.

So with the greatest of intentions and the poorest of follow-throughs, the two set out to be just friends. But as they get to know each other better, Harper fears that trading fillings for feelings may make her lose control and can't risk her carefully ordered life coming undone, no matter how drool-worthy Dan is. Blood, gore, and extra-long roots? No problem. The idea of falling in love? Torture.

This was a fluffy, light, cute read! Some parts were too cheesy for me. I didn't feel the chemistry between Harper and Dan and felt the relationship was super forced. The storyline didn’t feel very original or interesting to me and I found myself bored at some parts. There also wasn’t much time for the relationship to build, and it kind of felt more one-sided for the vast majority of the book. I did appreciate the representation of living with general anxiety disorder and how the discussions of grief and sexism were written. At times it got too much for me to see how Harper treated others around her who wanted to help while she was struggling inside. This is a debut novel, so I am looking forward to Mazey's next book, but if you want a little cheesy, fast paced romcom to get you out of a reading slump this is the book for just that.

Totally unique setting, and a sweet romcom! A great, quick read. I can’t wait to read more from Mazy Eddings!

This book was more about dealing with anxiety and trauma than it was about romance in my opinion. If you are interested in romances where one partner falls in love at first sight and just continually supports the other person. That sounds good, but the interactions between the characters seemed to go on forever. The first night they met and hung out, was 18% of the book. The pacing was just off for me on this one too. The main character also has panic attacks and two of them happen on page in detail. So much so that one of them made my anxiety start to climb and I had to skip forward past her attack. I just felt so sorry for her and wanted her to deal with it and get help. The best part of the novel for me was her recognizing that she had a real problem and figuring out how to deal with it.

I can't put into words how much I loved this audiobook. Harper was messy and real, and I felt seen and heard. I connected with her on such a deep level and I relate to her struggles. I loved Dan, I thought he was such an amazing love interest and I cannot wait to devour every single book Eddings writes because this book was everything I wanted and so much more. Definitely a top tier read for this year.

I did enjoy this via audiobook and I can say whole heartedly that the narrators were perfectly chosen. The emotion was raw and I loved it. I can't wait to purchase a copy of this book and have it on my shelf forever.

Thank you NetGalley for providing me with a free audiobook copy of this ARC in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

This was too cheesy for me. I'm gonna be honest, reading this was like the reading equivalent of developing tooth decay, and at some point I just had to take the L. I felt like there was little depth to the story despite the author's attempt to include some serious themes, such as anxiety disorders, unreasonable familial expectations, death of a family member, sexism in healthcare, etc. Those who willingly seek out easy-to-read, surface-level, lighthearted rom coms where even the serious topics are not explored in depth will likely enjoy this. I'll stick to my rom coms that have the depth.

As far as the characters go, I did appreciate the representation of anxiety and panic attacks with Harper's character. However, I found myself holding an unreasonable amount of disdain when it came to Dan. Who applies to dental school, realizes he doesn't want to go to dental school at all, spends 4 years working in finance (a career he actually enjoys), then drops everything, applies to dental school again solely upon his mother's request, and ACTUALLY GOES TO DENTAL SCHOOL, taking the spot of someone who actually desires that career path? He was unreasonably physically and verbally aggressive at times and didn't have his priorities straight.

I felt that the sexism portrayed in the book was very cookie-cutter and too obvious of a choice, and the author's way of including some diversity and representation felt written for a white audience. Overall, this was not something I enjoyed, but I did appreciate that this rom com introduced a dental school setting and filled a gap in the romance literary world.

This was a bit cheesy in some parts but it was a cute, light read. This book also talked about some heavy topics like grief, anxiety, death and more. I didnt care to much about the love story with these two but I did like how they were able to find themselves and figure out what they want.

Always happy to see books with Jewish characters, especially in romance. Due to no fault of the author, I've been struggling with my e-ARCs because I want to spend less time on my phone. Fortunately, the publisher approved my request for the audio version, which is how I read this book. I liked the female narrator better than the male narrator, but it felt like they were both doing A LOT, and I don't know how much of that is reflected in the text or if was capital-A acting. It felt very exaggerated and unfortunately wasn't my sense of humor. I was curious about the dental school/oral surgery setting. This book will appeal to fans of Ali Hazelwood.
