This is certainly my favourite book so far by this author. A gripping psychological thriller , so well written Ifelt I was in the story with the characters. I was rooting for Jane throughout as I really liked her honest character . My emotions were in turmoil. The description of the loathsome characters was superb. Once I started this book I couldn't put it down, hence finishing it late into the night.

This is my first read by the author and although I finished it I did struggle.

The concept itself was great and attention to detail was there but the characters seemed a little flat.
It struggled to hold my attention by halfway through

Unfortunately this book was not for me, it was a bit slower than I would like and it just didn't hold my attention. I am sure other people will love it!

Jane is happy with her life having come to terms with a few bad things along with her husband alongside. When new girl Lexie starts to get involved in her life can Jane work out what’s going on?

Wow what an amazing faced place twisty thriller. It tell the story of how a group of friends can be ruined by something bad and how sometimes friendships are unrecoverable. I enjoyed this dual timeline and duel character perspectives as it made it even more twisty. I did work some of it out but I was blown away by the ending. I can’t wait to read more by this author.

This was a gripping read from SE Lynes. The main character, Jane, is desperate to have a baby but despite years of trying has been unsuccessful. When her closest friend, Sophie, announces she's pregnant Jane tries her hardest to be happy for her. The pair have been inseparable for years so when newcomer, Lexie, joins their close group of friends, Jane struggles with the speed at which Lexie becomes close to Sophie. The hurt caused by the new friendship is deepened when Lexie announces that she too is pregnant and Jane feels that she's loosing Sophie.

The story is interspersed with chapters set in a hospital, but we don't know who it is or how they've ended up there. This only adds to the intrigue and made me desperate to find out what happened.

Another great read from SE Lynes and one that I would highly recommend.

Many thanks to Bookouture and NetGalley UK for the review copy.

I was absolutely addicted to this book. I couldn't put it down and finished it within two days! This story had me gripped from the beginning! Such a frustrating storyline, I wanted to scream at Sophie!
S.E. Lynes has a fantastic style of writing and knows how to keep you hooked and wanting to read another chapter and another and another.
Thank you to S.E Lynes, NetGalley and Bookouture for the opportunity to read and review this book.

As a mum myself, I absolutely loved the plot of this one and all of S.E. Lynes' books are equally brilliant!

Was it predictive.. god yes! Did it put me off.. hell no!

This was a high octane thriller that had me hooked from the very beginning. Not only is it dark and intense it also has this wry humour thrown in at opportune times that I really enjoyed and felt added something special to the book.

The characters are well padded out and wholly relatable which is a massive positive for me.

I loved the whole dynamic of friendships and just how easily life long friendships and relationships can be broken by just one toxic person. It also shows just how easy revenge can take hold.

This was a great read all the way through. Brilliantly paced narrative and although there is that air of predictability it doesn't take anything away from the intense need to find out what's going on!

Thanks to netgalley and Bookouture for the ARC.

That was bonkers, but in a chilling way and filled with, dare I say it, creeping menace, and it’s the kind of book that you read not because it’s mindful or brilliant, but because it’s just fun.

I always look forward to a new release by SE Lynes. she is one of my must buy authors and The Baby Shower did not disappoint!

We all know the hurt of losing a friend and this especially hits hard as an adult - why did this happen, am I not good enough, fun enough? This is exactly what happens to our protagonist Jane when Lexie is introduced into her circle of friends. Everyone seems to adore Lexie but Jane sees another side to her which no one believes. Lexie is possibly one of the most conniving, deceitful characters I have ever read and a Barnsley kiss (headbutt) would be coming her way should she venture to Yorkshire!!

There is a lot more than just toxic friendships in this book but this was what stuck with me and just how hurtful women can be to each other.

Another fantastic book!

I started this book a while ago and couldn't get into it. However I tried again later when I felt like an easy-read suspense/thriller. It did improve and was as good as many books in this genre, but there seem to be so many similar novels along these lines, and it was too easy to guess the twists.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the advance digital copy.

So, I really liked our main character and loved her husband.

The book is mildly interesting - the problem is that there's no suspense. I mean, you know the *who* of everything right away. It's in a hit-you-over-the-head kind of way. You also figure out what the *who* is doing pretty quickly.

The only mystery is the *why*...and our why is kind of prosaic.

The book is okay. It did keep me reading, if only to see if I was right. And I was. Every. Single. Time.

Another favourite domestic thriller from S.E. Lynes that captures your attention from the beginning, revolving around female friendships and the drama it can cause. Although some things were predictable about half way through, others were not right until the very end. Love it when I am kept guessing! This was a quick and easy read with great characters that I would recommend to all who enjoy a good domestic drama. Thanks to Netgalley and Bookouture for the opportunity to give an unbiased review.
