This is my first book by this author and after reading this I'm heading over to the Kindle store to see what else I can get my hands on.
This was a page turner that kept me awake late into the night needing to know how it was going to end.

As in all her previous books, SE Lynes does not disappoint.
A very exciting read even though parts were rather predictable. There was no massive twist but it did not detract from my enjoyment.

Another unputdownable thriller from S. E. Lynes! As always, I love the writing style. It's so addicting and keeps me turning pages every time. I love the fairly short chapter lengths and POV choice as well. This thriller is structured very well and was an overall enjoyable experience, requiring minimal additional edits. As for the plot, it was intriguing, however it did drag a bit in the second half which can be par for the course in a domestic thriller. I would still give it 4 stars for an enjoyable ride and great ending.

My Review:
Omg!!!!! My favorite book of the year so far. In fact, this was by far my favorite read by this author ever. Don’t get me wrong all her books are great but this one really topped the cake for me. She hit this one out of the ballpark. Ok so throughout the whole book I kept getting this creepy, keep you up all night Single White Female movie vibe. If you haven’t seen this movie I would advise you to go out and rent it ASAP. In general it’s about a friendship that it’s very unnatural. So not only did it give off this weird friendship vibe but this book also made you think about how the past always has a way of catching up with you. This book had so many layers and messages to it. There was one topic though that might be hard for some readers so be warned. I was even thrown off my guard and that’s very hard to do. It is a topic that is rarely discussed in todays society and is under reported to authorities because of the shame that is felt by it. I have a teenage child and will be talking to him tonight. This book really opened my eyes to this so thank you SE Lynes. I really can’t say enough good things about this book. It had everything that you would want in a book. Great characters, great story line and of course my favorite a great ending. I couldn’t get through the chapters fast enough. I loved every minute of this book. I definitely look forward to reading this authors next book. Hopefully I don’t have to wait too long.

In conclusion, the plot, the characters and all the twists in this book made this book an enjoyable read. I would definitely recommend it and happily give it 5 Hearts❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

This book gripped me from the start, kept guessing till the last moment, thoroughly recommend if you are considering looking for something to keep you occupied through the winter nights

The Baby Shower a slow burner to start, then I wasn't sure, then I didn't want to put it down until I'd finished. Whilst a book of fiction, in parts it could almost seem like you could possibly be reading real events. Quite sad to think that someone literally could relate to Janes story.

Well written, overall great read. I've not read any by this author before, but will look out for their books going forward.

Let me tell you, it’s amazing!
I think one of the (many) things I enjoyed most about this book is that, although romantic relationships are explored, the focus is more on how non-romantic love can destroy us just as easily as its romantic counterpart. The value of friendship is deeply explored within this book, which I feel is a type of relationship which is often forgotten about in this genre.
It isn’t just the notion of friendship which is explored perfectly, there is also exploration of topics that are rarely discussed in relation to men.
This book is deliciously dark, and I found myself exclaiming the words; ‘Oh my God’ while I was sat reading this.
Lynes laces the nail-biting plot with subjects which are often difficult to swallow, but manages to do so with a finesse which is difficult to adopt. Amid the darkness of this book, there are often some unbelievably tender moments which serve both to layer the characters, but also to let the reader catch their breath.
Speaking of layers, it isn’t just the characters which are intrinsically developed. With each main character, they have what can only be described as a subplot, which only further intensifies how much we end up rooting for them. Every character has this hidden battle which only we know, and I couldn’t help but want to reach into the pages of The Baby Shower and try to fix everything for everyone.

Absolutely brilliant. Fast paced and sinister, this is another of Lynes' novels that will keep you up reading into the night. This author hasn't failed to deliver once, and The Baby Shower is as deliciously twisty as everything else she has written.

Jane Reece loves her husband, Frankie and their life is going on happily married together although they don't have a baby yet despite trying from a long time they didn't get success yet. Jane has a coffee shop and Frankie has a plumbing buisness. Jane has a group of friends with whom she chats, go out, pass her time. One day her good friend, Sophie introduced Lexie to the group. Lexie is beautiful and confident and certainly not that type of girl one can easily ignore. Now in the blink of an eye Lexie becomes the part of their group, although no one knows what her intentions are.
Lexie gaslight everyone and tries to down Jane whenever and wherever possible by coming between Sophie and Jane. Jane is suffering.
The icing on the cake comes when Frankie wins money in a scratcher and meets a woman named Natasha and then something else begins and here Sophie becomes pregnant.
This novel is clever, although I've guessed 2-3 twists but yet it was a thrilling ride.
Lexie and Jane are well written characters.
Although Sophie's character could be made more better but it's ok. Frankie and Natasha were good.
The final twist was clever.
It's a good novel.

It was pretty far fetched but I still kept turning the pages to see what would happen next. I didn’t figure out who the real villain was so that is always a plus in my book. Good book.

Susie has the knack of writing books that keep you guessing & this was a great read. I really enjoyed this book & will be telling everyone about it!

I loved this book it kept me gripped all through. It is mostly about toxic female friendships, perhaps some of us have gone through this. It has a shocking moment during the baby shower which made me gasp out loud. Brilliant book which i highly recommend.

When will I ever learn to not start a book by Susie Lynes at bedtime? You'd think I'd have known better before deciding to dive in to her 10th - YES TENTH - book at 10.30pm on a Friday night. But no. And if it hadn't been for the other half telling me in no uncertain terms at 1.30am to 'put that bloody kindle down' I probably would have finished it in one go. It's that good.

There are so many issues very cleverly interwoven in this book to produce one almighty banger. Toxic relationships (my God, women can be so cruel), between friends and families, infidelity, infertility, family breakdown, and male consent all come to the fore in this story about Jane Reece, a woman with a successful business, a devoted husband and a very close knit, very small circle of friends.

All seems well until best friend Sophie introduces Lexie to the group. And then Jane's problems start. Having been on the receiving end of a very nasty adult female bully myself, I wanted so much to tell Jane that I knew what she was going through and to let her know that she wasn't alone and that she was to be believed. But of course I couldn't, and so the unravelling continued.

And then there's that watch and the trouble that caused...

I can't say anymore about this book because it's worth so much more than any words I can put together to tell you how brilliant it is. It's out on 1st March, so add it to your lists, pre-order, whatever... just make sure you read it.

Fantastic and gripping story about friendship and how quickly things can go wrong. The story highlights the power of social media and how it can be used to portray a life that's very different to reality. Cracking boom that I read in one sitting. Already recommending to family and friends

This was a fun read! This was my first by this author and it won't be my last.

Jane and her husband Frankie have tried unsuccessfully for years for a baby. After coming to terms that they will not have the family they wanted, they settle comfortably into their lives. Jane owns a coffee shop and Frankie owns a plumbing business. Jane has a circle of friends that she regularly hangs out with. They have a running club and go out for Friday night drinks. Jane's best friend Sophie becomes pregnant which devastates her. When Lexie is introduced to the group by Sophie, everything goes bad for Jane. Lexie and Sophie quickly become best friends. Lexie turns all her friends against her, gaslighting and bullying her.

Meanwhile, her husband Frankie wins $3,000.00 on a scratcher and decides to buy an expensive watch to make himself feel better and fit in with his friends. While he is out with his friends at a pub one night, he meets a beautiful woman named Natasha. I don't want to give too much away, but this book is one crazy ride! While I did figure out one of the twists early on, it was still a fun read. I found myself having anxiety reading what Jane was going through, all caused by Lexie.

Another very good read courtesy of S.E Lynes who I always find so consistently good. A riveting read that gripped me very early on and teased me throughout with the well paced plot. Characters that virtually had me screaming at the pages and even though I just about had it figured out proved to be another excellent read from this author.

A novel about female friends, their relationships, rivalry, deception and lots more.

The lead character is Jane who longs for a baby with her husband Frankie. They share a very happy life but the one thing she wants to put the icing on the cake is a child. Time is running out for the couple as they try to have the baby they dearly want. Jane has a group of friends she enjoys socialising with, but her very best pal is Sophie. When Sophie announces she is pregnant Jane expresses her happiness for her but cannot help feeling sad for her own problems. The four friends enjoy evenings out and everyone gets on well until another friend of Sophie, Lexie joins the group. Lexie is not shy and is certainly not going to be kept in the shadows. Before long Lexie is a very big part of the group and appears to be trying to upset the tight friendship between Jane and Sophie. Lexie appears to be a great friend to the others while upsetting Jane where ever possible and pushing herself between Jane and Sophie.

The problem is only Jane sees the evil side of Lexie and when Jane speaks of it she appears to be paranoid and emotional. The situation escalates further and Sophie and Jane are getting pushed further apart, culminating in a tense climax.
Great characters and a cleverly written plot make this a real page turner.

This was a good thriller. Good plot twists. It touches on a subject that is not talked about. I enjoyed the plot of this story.

I really enjoyed this book. I always love complex friendships in a thriller, and this was toxic and deliciously addictive. I felt for Jane so much, and was intrigued to find out why Lexie was the way she was. It got very dark. Some twists weren't too unpredictable but others were a great surprise. 5/5 read for sure. Couldn't stop until I'd finished it.
