While I did not enjoy this as much as the first book in the series, it is still wildly entertaining to give Finlay the side eye repeatedly as she finds herself in these crazy situations and continues to make very questionable decisions. Vero is still my fave ride or die side kick, but the homie definitely has some explaining to do. And this might be terribly savage of me, but I sort of wish someone really would just take Finlay's ex hubbie out for real. I guess that gives me something to hope for in the next book - as well as the juicy bit of trouble that is uncovered for the dynamic duo at the closing of this book.

Book Two in the Finlay Donovan series and it lived right up to the hype!!! It started right were book one left off and I couldn’t listen to this fast enough!!

This audiobook was narrated by Angela Dawe and it was narrated so well. I was completely invested and hanging on to her every last word! I highly suggest listening to this audiobook.

A huge thank you to Minotaur Books and Macmillan audio for this ALC in exchange for my honest review!! I need more! 5 captivating and mesmerizing stars!!

I tried and failed to get through this one and so I think I'm finally giving up. I truly think I have to be in the *mood* for Finlay and I just cannot get myself there again, I did really like the first one, so if you did I think you might be into continuing the series. There's even a third coming out now!

This book was just as good as the first. I really enjoyed Finlay more in this one that the last one. I also still like the overall plotline and the way the inner book’s plot reflects FInlay’s life. It’s such a cute way to do it. I didn’t like Vero as much in this one, but I liked Finlay more, so I guess it balances out! :) I’ll be looking for book 3 for sure!

Narrator: 10/10

Story: BLAH! The fun, relatable, hot mess mom has been replaced with a semi-competent hit woman/sleuth and I don’t like it. The storyline is so over the top and it felt like it really dragged on. I still love Vero and Julian, but even they weren’t enough to redeem this one for me.

I did appreciate the surprise “Fed Up” twist at the end and I will probably listen to the third installment, but overall, this wasn’t anywhere near as entertaining as the first.

Finaly and her sidekick, Vero is back in this fun and entertaining sequel! Someone wants Finaly’s ex-husband dead and is willing to pay a bunch of money to make it happen ASAP. Finaly and Vero needs to find out who is out to get him and why.

I wish I read the first book in the series but this book was still great as a standalone. I listened to the audiobook and it was hard not to laugh out loud. I loved the witty dialogue, snarky banter and the crazy scenarios that Finaly and Vero found themselves in. The book ended on a cliffhanger so the anticipation for the next book is real!

I received a review copy from NetGallery and Macmillan Audio and I voluntarily provided an honest review. This does not affect the opinion of the book or the content of the review.

Thank you to NetGalley and Elle Cosimano for providing this audiobook for an honest review.

The second book with Finlay was another very enjoyable story! The main character Finlay is a single mother of two trying to survive as an author and gets herself in hilarious situations.
This time she is trying to keep her ex-husband alive since someone wants to get him killed.

She has Veno her Nanny helping her and a detective named Nick included in her journey. While Veno is more involved in what Finlay knows especially the buried bodies, Nick is drawn to her and lets her accompany him in his investigations without knowing what Finlay actually knows.

Without wanting to spoil this story, all I can say is I will read every single next book of this series. It is just a perfect mix of mystery and fun way of writing with an absolutely lovable main character who is as goofy as it can be.

Finlay Donovan is back and she is trying to finish her next novel. Vero is helping her with the children and Finlay's ex, Steven, is still annoying her. And then Finlay discovers that somebody on an anonymous message board wants Steven dead. Having Steven out of the picture would make life easier for Finlay, she is concerned about the children's safety when they are with him. She needs to figure out who is "Fed Up" before it is too late.

The second book in the fun series is called Knocks 'Em Dead. Finlay Donovan Knocks 'Em Dead is a fun book and Finlay Donovan is a fun character. Finlay may be a bit of a mess, but she has Vero to help keep her keep it together. Until Vero gets a bit messy herself. Together, the two of them try to save Steven's life without him even knowing what is going on. - CLICK HERE FOR SPOILERS

Bottom Line - It didn't take long for Finlay Donovan to become a beloved character. I enjoyed catching up with her and Vero and I can't wait to catch up with them in the future.

Loved this way more than the first book in this duo!!! Findlay is my favorite character of all of the books I’ve read this year! Elle is definitely a go to author now!!

Just like the first book, I found myself laughing out loud at this book. That being said, I do feel like I enjoyed the first book a little more.

This book continues Finlay Donovan’s story as an accidental hit man and the complications that came of it. These complications hold her, her children, her ex husband, and her sidekick at risk. But, just like book one, it all comes together so nicely and peace is restored…for now.

Congrats to @ellecosimano for another fantastic Finlay installment! This newly divorced mother does some amatuer sleuthing to unravel and stop (yesss stop) a hit on her ex-husband. Finlay is a thriller writer and loves to put herself in the middle of the action, some of which can be deadly!! Still this book is a very fun book to read as the author brings humor into her characters minds and mouths in this 2nd Finlay book #FinlayKnocksemDead !
And of course, in true masterful style, @macmillan.audio knocks it out of the ballpark with the production of this audio!
And last but not least, may we not forget the embodiment of Finlay herself @daweangela !!
What a fantastic job, she truly is the perfect fit for Finlay and I love hearing her narrate, her voice is great and she has fantastic comedic timing. For me, she IS Finlay, you know, like any movie star is inherently associated by their most iconic role??? lol yeah that good! Brava to Angela and of course to Elle for bringing more Finlay into my stressful life. Please bring me the next one soon!! Highly recommend !!!! A five star read for me based on plot, character love, and pure enjoyment!

Finlay Donovan Knocks Em Dead by Elle Cosimano is a great story of how a mom gets the job done to protect her children and ex-husband.

Oh, Finlay, you've done it again!
.
We pick up right where we left off in book #1. Finlay is struggling to complete her next novel. Who could blame her, especially when she comes across a post seeing that someone wants her ex-husband dead?
.
Finlay and Vero set out to uncover the secrets behind this hit. Our beloved characters return and Finlay once again gets wrapped up-- biting off more than she can chew!
.
I really this whole book on the plane to Florida- I couldn't put it down!

I really enjoyed the first book more than this one and I think it was mainly because this one continued with the same cast of characters from the first one.

Finlay is back with her firecracker partner, Vero, to find out who put a hit out on her husband. She's still stuck in a love triangle (?) with the hot cop and the younger soon-to-be lawyer. I did enjoy some of the newer characters that were introduced throughout the story and were crucial to Finlay solving the crime but overall this one fell a little flat for me.

I still enjoyed the story and love the series and look forward to reading book number 3.
Thank you to Netgalley, the publisher, and Elle Cosimano for an e-arc in exchange for my own review.

I wasn't QUITE as blown away by book 2 as I was by book 1 but I am definitely planning to read book 3 and continue to recommend the series to everyone.

I absolutely loved this sequel. Finlay Donovan knocks em Dead is an amazing follow up to Finlay Donovan is killing it. I love all the obstacles and humor it was a perfect cozy mystery. I highly recommend and can’t wait for the third novel. Would love to see Finlay in many more novels to come.

I was given an early copy for an honest review of the audiobook. I attempted to listen to this on several occasions and just wasn’t feeling it. I didn’t feel anything for the characters so I didn’t finish and hate to give it a poor ratting but I did not care for it. I couldn’t ever find a connection with the characters. Thanks to NetGalley for the opportunity to review this audiobook.

This was just as good as the first book. I listened to it by audio and the narrator was great. I listened to this in 1 day, I just needed to know what was going to happen. I honestly cannot wait to see more in the 3rd book. I felt as if there was more character development in this book rather than the 1st.

Thank you NetGalley and Macmillan Audio for this Arc for a honest review

Fun and outrageous. If you’re looking for a break from reality, Finlay delivers yet again.

Full of implausible hijinks, Finlay and Vero team up to stave off a contract killing on Steven in a way that made me roll my eyes (in a good sense) and laugh out loud at the same time. The shenanigans are completely over the top, but that’s exactly what makes Finlay Donovan so entertaining. I particularly enjoyed the spotlight on the friendship between Fin and Vero in this installment. But the men certainly aren’t to be overlooked. 🔥 (I feel strong Stephanie Plum vibes, and I’m here for it.)

I’ve enjoyed both Finlay Donovan books, but I think this one is my favorite of the two. And I’m certainly looking forward to the next installment!

This is a pure escapist read that I flew through, thoroughly enjoying every ridiculous plot point and laughing all the way.

I listened to this one on audio, and I really enjoyed Angela Dawe’s narration. It added a flair to the book that I didn’t feel in reading the print copy of the first book in this series.

Many thanks to Elle Cosimano, St. Martin's Press, and Macmillan Audio for a #gifted copy of this book to read and review.

A big thank you to NetGalley and MacMillan Audio for the Audiobook. I have to say that i am not having the best of luck getting these to load on the NetGalley app. I was not able to finish listening to this book, as it stopped loading after Chapter 4. I was so bummed. I really was into the story. I loved the characters and the plot, and I want to know what happens. I live overseas on a military base and am trying to figure out how to get ebooks, and audiobooks from a library. If I can I will come back and finish my review. For now I am giving it 3 stars.
