This books was witty, fun and funny. Great follow up to the previous book.
I really enjoyed this one.

Finlay Donovan is back and I was so there for it!! I did not think the author could top the antics and messes Finlay found herself in the first book, but I was wrong. I was a bit skeptical that book two was not going to be as good as the first, but I was pleasantly surprised and I actually enjoyed it even more. It had been a while since the first book released so I was afraid I would not remember much of the first story, but the author did a good job writing a recap into the beginning of book two. I was fortunate to receive an audiobook version of this story. I thought the narrating was flawless and devoured this book in a short period of time. With so much mystery and humor, I did not want to stop listening and did not want the story to end. I will say the big reveal at the end left me picking my jaw up off the ground. I never saw that one coming!! I still have so many unanswered questions so I can't wait for the next book in the series. I needed it yesterday!!

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for an advanced copy of the audiobook in exchange for an honest review. All opinions expressed are entirely my own.

This is a story about finding a calling.

If you found out someone was going to murder your ex husband- how hard would you try to save them? This was such an entertaining, amusing followup. I deeply hope someone takes these funny, endearing characters and makes a film.

Thank you so much Netgalley & Macmillan Audio for this ALC!

Oh, Elle Cosimano, you clever woman! Where is the petition I sign to guarantee at least a dozen books in the Finlay Donovan series? I just never want it to end! Now, buckle upas I proceed to gush about this book.

🤷🏻‍♀️

WOW, so full disclosure, I did not really expect this follow up to Finlay Donovan Is Killing It to be quite as good as its predecessor. I mean, how often does an author publish a single perfect, genre bending novel in her lifetime - let alone TWO of them?! I have never been so happy to say I was wrong! Finlay Donovan Knocks Em Dead is just as great as - dare I say even better than - the first book! Seriously, I can't even apologize for all of the exclamation points in this review because how else will I convey MY UNDYING LOVE FOR THIS BOOK?!

🕵🏻‍♀️💻

As with the first Finlay Donovan novel, Cosimano delivers a hilarious contemporary murder mystery with enough suspense and romance to keep any reader enthralled. I listened to the audiobook and have to give narrator Angela Dawe all the heart eyes for a job brilliantly done. Thank you Elle Cosimano for knockin’ us dead with this incredibly entertaining book and added thanks to you, NetGalley & Macmillan Audio for a free audio ARC in exchange for my honest review.

Once again, Ms. Finlay Donovan does it again. I can't believe I'm saying this, but I may have actually liked this one just as much as the first one--which never happens! This book series is the perfect hybrid between a cozy mystery and a (soft) thriller and I'm absolutely in love! I cannot wait to continue on with the series, unraveling more mysteries as we go!

When struggling novelist and single mother of two accidentally and mistakenly becomes known as a contract killer, a slap-stick comedy of errors ensues through the world of assassins and the Russian mob. There’s a hunky cop and swoon-worthy law student who serve as objects of her lustful daydreams. I love this series, even with frozen body parts and mass graves included.

Finlay Donovan Knocks ‘Em Dead is the second book in the Finlay series. Finlay and Vero continue on the path with funny capers and chaotic misunderstandings. I feel it is strongly encouraged to read Finlay Donovan is Killing It before embarking on the chaos that ensures in this book.
Thank you MacMillan Audio and NetGalley for the audio eARC.

FINLAY!!! I was hooked on book 1, and this one was no different. I truly never see the next twist coming from these books. Easy compulsive read. One of those page turners that you hate to put down. I also loooove the open-ish ending for more to come on Vero. TY Netgalley for this free audio book in exchange for my honest review!

Love love loved this book! I was worried that the second book wouldn't live up to the hype of the first, but surprise! It totally did! The chapters and writing style make it such a fast read. Finlay finds herself in a whole series of unfortunate events as she tries to solve a mystery that places her ex husband and her family in danger. The plot is compelling and this book is totally binge able! Can we make this a movie or short series asap please?

I didn't know cozy mystery was a thing until this series. As much as I love the first book, this one just fell a bit short. It just wasn't as funny and some moments felt a bit contrite. I also have a controversial opinion here- I'm not invested in either of Finlay's love interest. The chemistry just feel forced and not well fleshed out. However, the comical duo that is Finlay and Vera still pulled it for me. Now, that's a relationship I'm 100% invested in!

Look, I’m already in love with Finlay and Vero and I stand by that. For that reason, I’m forgiving a ridiculously hard to follow plot with too many characters and lack of steam. Still fun, still funny, still a page turner - but not as good as the first one.

I will not take away the start just because this book wasnt for me. It was nicely written. Nice characters and the mystery was twisty enough. I am just coming t o realization that the older i get the less interested I am with a cozy mysteries. For some reason I got a bit spacey at times. However this book FOR SURE has its audience.

Finlay Donovan Is Killing It was one of my favorite books last year, and I know for sure that Finlay Donovan Knocks 'Em Dead will be one of my favorites for this year. It's seriously impossible not to love Finlay and everyone's favorite sidekick, Vero!! Elle Cosimano effortlessly blends the thrilling storyline with great humor, and she makes her main characters so relatable! I couldn't be any more excited that there'll be a book 3 and 4!!!!! Finlay and Vero forever, Dream Team!!

Ok, so you're probably wondering what this book is about?
DO NOT READ ANY FURTHER unless you've read Finlay Donovan Is Killing It!

Book 2 picks up where the first left off; Finlay receives a tip that someone has posted on the forum asking for a hit on her ex-husband Steven for 100k. Finlay and Vero are set on stopping the hit at all costs, but it's a little tricky when they have no clue who called it. Meanwhile, there's all the drama with the Russian mob still, and Finlay is balancing two suitors, Julian the lawyer and Nick the cop. Vero has her own issues with her family, and Finlay is being pressed hard by her agent and editor to write her next book!

HIGHLY recommend the Finlay Donovan series for a quick, thrilling read and some great laughs, and can we talk about the audiobook?! Angela Dawe is the PERFECT narrator for this series. I so hope she's on for books 3 and 4. She brings uniqueness to every character and brings humor and sarcasm through in such a fresh way! I love this series so much I want to read through it AND listen to the audio fully!!

The first one was SO CUTE! I didn’t love this one as much at all. It was cute enough that I'll read another book in the series but I didn't really feel drawn to the story like I did in the first one.

Fabulous and funny. You will fall in love with Finley and her side kick Vero. Someone has taken a hit of Finleys ex and things are getting freaky. How do Finley and Vero end up with some body parts they are hiding? Funny witty and everything you want in a read

Finlay is up to shenanigans again! Something outrageous is either happening, or about to happen… which is what we’ve come to expect from Finlay.

I’ve consumed both books in this series via audiobook, and really enjoyed the experience.

This book books up shortly after the last ended, and answers the questions we all have about the men in Finlay’s life.

While I enjoyed this book, I was not as engaged with this story as I was with the previous one. I found myself pulled out of the story when Finlay continued to do completely stupid things, like she hadn’t learned from what happened to her in the last book at all. I also didn’t like some of the drama that went down between Finlay and another character, or how that drama was resolved.

Finlay Donovan Knocks ‘Em Dead was still a fast-paced enjoyable read!

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for providing me with a copy of this audiobook.

Finlay Donovan Knocks 'Em Dead takes off just where the previous book left off, with all of the outrageous antics and near-death experiences! Thank you to Netgalley and Macmillan Audio for providing this entertaining listen.
Finlay finds herself in the center of deadly upheaval once more when she discovers on a hidden chat group of soccer mothers turned hit-women that someone wants her ex-husband Steven dead. While Steven isn't her favorite person, Finlay doesn't want her children's father to be in danger. So, with the assistance of her ever-faithful nanny Vero, Finlay finds herself in the thick of things. In yet another funny tale of ridiculousness, what began as a little investigative work ends up with rubbing shoulders with the Russian mob.

Thank you to St. Martin's Press, Minotaur Books, and NetGalley for advanced ebook and audiobook copies of this title.

This book is the second in a new and humorous mystery series. Finlay Donovan is a single mom and author who always seems to be chasing a book deadline. Her ex-husband is a bit of a low-life but even she doesn't want him dead. So who does? Finlay and her live-in nanny/BFF Vero are on the case. As in the first book (Finlay Donovan is Killing It), the pair encounter dead bodies, the Russian mafia, and danger at every turn. There are a lot of humorous misunderstandings and some romance along the way, too. These books are great for anyone looking for a lighthearted, twisty mystery where a badass mom is the star.

These are fantastically fun! Perfect for fans of Janet Evanovich and Darynda Jones. There is a good blend of domesticity, suspense, mystery, romance and humor.

The second instillation of Finlay Donovan and her hilarious mess of a life was fun and always kept me guessing! I loved the balance of suspense and romantic tension, though I could've done with a little more comedy like in the first book. The narrator did a fantastic job with the voices and will now be an auto-listen narrator! I can't wait for the next book, because there has to be a next book, right?!
