I loved this audiobook! I’m on a fluff kick! Fiinlay & Vero are hilarious together. Vero has a deadpan dark sense of humor! You always feel she’s hiding something! Fin’s X, Stephan is such a jerk & they need to save him from a criminal Russian mob boss. This was a highly anticipated read & it didn’t disappoint!

You get a little more character development in this book but it’s not about the character but the ridiculous situations Findlay is always stepping into.

If you enjoyed the first book, this one is even better! You secretly root for Julian but Nick is the better choice eleven though Julian could save her while Nick can arrest her.

Findlay is an author with writers block that gets into such drama that it ignites her creativity. There’s a dismembered corpse, red herrings, multiple possible love interests, a hit taken out on an X & disappearing players.

Fun palate cleanser! I’d read a 3rd book in the series! This was another book I didn’t know I needed! Thank you NetGalley & Macmillan audio for the pleasure of reading this book! I loved it! A one sitting fun book.

I was weary about this book to start with since I wasn’t a huge fan of the first one but I wanted to give it a shot. I’m the end, I’m so glad I did! The story continues where the first book left off and we meet a lot of the same character as well as some new ones while Finlay is trying to hunt down the person or people who put a hit out on her ex-husband. Finlay and her ex don’t have the best relationship but she doesn’t want to see the father of her children killed so she sets out to find out the identity of the person online who put the hit out. Finlay and Vero are back at it tag teaming and just as they think they have one mystery solved, another wrench is thrown in the plan.
The book was left on another cliff hanger so hopefully the series will continue!

I completely missed that this was the second in a series. Though I haven't read the first book, I did enjoy this one. I don't often go for the humorous mysteries, but I might try a few more out after this and I did put a hold on the first book in this series at my local library so that says something. For those not familiar, I'd liken this to if Bridget Jones got mixed up with crime and murder.

Thanks to Macmillan Audio and NetGalley for the ALC in exchange for my honest review.

The audiobook narrator has an interesting style where she acts out the voices as she reads. She also has a slightly different voice for all of the characters. I didn’t mind this at all, except for the voice she chose for Vero - it was off for me. Possibly future books would benefit from more than one narrator to pull off some of these amazing characters. Narration: 3.5/5

I loved this book just as much as the first book in the series. In Finlay Donovan Knocks ‘Em Dead, readers get mystery, romance, and humor all in one amazing package!

Finlay and Vero are back and they get into some even crazier situations. Someone wants to kill Finlay’s ex-husband Steve. The mystery plot was interesting with Finlay and Vero trying to figure out who is trying to kill Steve (and bending a few laws along the way).

I liked that there are a couple of love interests for Finlay because it really added to the richness of the story. I especially loved her interaction with hot cop Nick, particularly when she is bending the rules.

I am loving this series and I can’t wait to read more books about Finlay and Vero! If you are looking for a book that is fun and entertaining, this is the book for you! Book: 5/5

Finlay and the gang are back! Picking up where book one left off, Finlay has a lot on her plate: a book deadline looming, potty training, dating a younger man, and investigating who’s trying to murder her ex. Life is hard when you accidentally uncover a hit on your ex-husband’s life.

Fans of the first book will find a satisfying read that answers some questions while creating more. Finlay has a great cast of characters who love and support their lead. I can’t wait to get more glimpses into Vero.

With the plot playing out on the heels of book one, there is little room for character growth and development. It is similar to book one, but with less hesitance toward the crimes they’re committing. Overall it’s about Finlay getting further into a world of moral ambiguity with justifiable (to her) reasons.

I’m hoping there are more books that dive more into the characters developing and let Finlay confront the choices she’s making.

The audiobook was a delight to listen to. I loved the narrator.

I absolutely adored the first Finaly Donovan book. Not sure I could love a character more. Of course I was excited to hear there was a sequel coming out, but also afraid it couldn’t live up to the original. No reason to be afraid, because this was just as amazing as the first. Finlay and Vero are such a dynamic duo and making this series so fun! It’s fun, smart, and will keep you on your toes. Nothing not to love about it.

Thanks to Netgalley for the ARC of this book in exchange for my honest opinion.

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE! Elle Cosimano does it again. The return of Finlay did not disappoint one bit. FINLAY DONOVAN KNOCKS 'EM DEAD picks up after the mic drop revelation that ended FINLAY DONOVAN IS KILLING IT, and is a fun, fast-paced wild ride from there with our charming heroine and her complex ride-or-die bestie, Vero.
It should be noted that Cosimano does a great job of recapping the plot points from book one, so IF a reader should hop right in and not have read the first novel in the series - it would be a shame, but not result in any confusion with this story.
The narrator is excellent and I had the pleasure of bouncing back and forth between an ARC and the audio, and it truly enhances the story. Finlay is fun, feisty, complicated, kind, and unstoppable. She is in many ways any mom/friend/woman warrior who will do whatever it takes to protect the people she loves.
I'm happy to learn that there are two more books coming, and I also look forward to seeing these characters onscreen. FUN!

Finlay Donovan is back with a vengeance! A recommended purchase in all formats for collections where crime fic and the previous title are popular.

Finley Donovan is back, knee deep in organized crime, dirty diapers and trying to keep her husband safe from a contract killer. Add a little potential romance to the mix and you’ve got a strong female lead who should be in over her head, but as the title says, is killing it. The audio is well-paced and the narration is well-acted. I didn’t care for the children’s voices as I found the, a little shrill but nothing that deters from the novel. This installment is just as fun as the first and feels like Finley is hitting her stride, especially in realizing what good support she has in her friends and family. I hope we see more of the whole cast of characters in a third book! Thank you to the Macmillan audio for Minotaur books and Netgalley for the advance readers copy.

Just as addictive and delightful as the first book! And brilliantly narrated by Angela Dawe. Finlay Donovan is the best sort of brain candy. Cleverly witty dialog, page-turning action, propulsive plot, and a hilarious comedy of errors with more than a touch of sentimentality. I love this series and I have recommended them to all of my friends and family. I can't wait for the next one!

I swear, as much as I love Finlay Donovan, she gives me mad anxiety! This time Finlay is caught up in trying to figure out who contracted to kill her ex-husband Stephen. There are the usual shenanigans w/ Vero and of course while all this craziness is heppening, Finlay is supposed to get book pages to her agent, Sylvia. It’s madcap hilarity and action as Finlay hunts down the culprit! (And yes, there will most definitely be a third installment if that ending is any indication..)

Special thanks to NetGalley & the publisher for the e-arc of this engaging mystery.*

These books are just so chaotic and so fun... I mean how could you not like them? A hot mess of a mom who's dealing with an ex-husband (who someone is trying to kill), raising 2 kids, writing a draft of her next book, juggling two men who are interested in her, and trying to stay out of the way of a Russian mob.... I mean.... it doesn't get more cray cray than this!

I just really enjoy my time with these books and dang, after that ending... we better be getting a book 3!

Enjoyment: 5
Overall rating: 4.79

Finlay Killed It and with that won me as a fan. Now she is back and things... Well, things are still chaotic. She is just as behind on her second novel as her debut. She is still trying to find her footing as a single mother.
Her ex is still hard to deal with, and her love life is an even bigger mess.

HOWEVER, some light is peeking through the end of the tunnel: she now has Vero as a sidekick and live-in nanny, and no more dead bodies have turned up in the past months.

She will need to hold on to that silver lightning as her life suddenly takes another wrong turn and she finds out someone has a hit on her husband and that the Russian mob is not that quick to forget her participation in the arrest of their head.

Finlay Donovan Knocks 'Em Dead is, in my opinion, even better than its predecessor. We get to see character development from all the characters across the board. I was delighted to get to know more of Vero and to watch Finlay grow as a person. Yes, her life is still crazy and messy, but at least now she is more in control of the messes she finds herself in.

Cosimano gave everything I wanted in this book: it's fresh, original, consistent pacing and character development. The continuity felt organic and seamless while keeping everything I loved in FDIKI: the cheekiness, the sense of humour, the lightness in which the story is told, and, of course, the intrigue, batsh*t craziness, and suspense.

I listened to Finlay Donovan Knocks 'Em Dead as an audiobook produced by Macmillan Audio and narrated by Angela Dawe. Dawe did a fantastic job embodying Finlay. Her pacing, characterization, and style complemented the narrative. Although I didn't miss a full cast, I think that it will be fun to see more narrators in the future to bask in the amazingness that is the chemistry between Finlay and Vero, and Nick, and everyone, really.

This book is absolute perfection! Finlay Donovan 1 was my favorite book last year and I was so excited to see what Finlay and Vero were up to next!

This book has absolutely everything...humor, romance, shovels, wigs, dead bodies, and so many twists and turns you'll have whiplash! Finlay and Vero are absolutely RIDICULOUS but in the best way possible!

Thank you so much Netgalley and MacMillan Audio for the advanced listening copy of this book. This audiobook will be available on February 1st!

Finlay is back with her sidekick Vero in this new mystery! I love how fun these books are and how they keep me guessing the whole way through. They aren't super suspenseful, and Elle makes them light even if the subject matter is dark.
Finlay finds out that someone has taken a hit out on her ex-husband and while she wants to take him out some of the time, she can't do that to her children. She needs to find out who this person is and stop them before they make good with their threat.
We see the same hot grad student and the same hot cop in this book, and the struggle is real. In one breath you are rooting for Julian and the next Nick seems like the right choice. This is only compounded by her ex-husband sniffing around. The Russian's mob is still ever present and she needs to find out if they are the ones who want her ex eliminated or if there is something deeper that he is into.
There were so many people that I suspected but the ending was truly a shock for me, and I loved that. These books are so fun and I can't wait for the next one.
The narrator was absolutely spot on for this book and brought the characters to life so well.
Thank you to Macmillian Audio, Netgalley and Elle Cosimano for an early audio copy!

Love this series. Finlay finds out that someone has been hired to kill her ex husband. In the middle of trying to write her next novel and raising two small children, she is trying to solve this mystery.
💛
Finlay is a bit of a mess, but you have to love her. She always finds herself in the most outlandish situations. Even though she was hurt by her ex she does not want him to die. Between her and her accountant/nanny they try to uncover this mystery.
💛
This novel is just as witty, fun as Finlay Donovan’s Killing It. Loved the ending and look forward to to another Finlay Donovan novel. This series would make a great movie or tv show. Count me in to find out what’s next for Finlay. Thank you NetGalley for an advanced copy for an honest review.

The second installment in this series and I think it was even better than the first! I devoured this audiobook in a day! Such a witty, lovely, mystery.

This may be my favorite new series. I loved this narrator. She did all the voices and each was distinct and well defined.

I loved this even more than the first book!
The plot thickens, the characters development is deeper, and the shenanigans are even better.
There better be more in this series; need to know what happens next!
Much love to NetGalley & Macmillan Audio for my DRC.

Finlay Donovan is BACK! This book picks up right where book 1 left off (so I’m not going to give you a synopsis). I’ll just say I highly recommend

Finlay Donovan is Killing It was one of my top 10 books of 2021 so I was so excited for book 2. This book was just as fun as the first. It had all the twists and turns and crazy antics I would expect from Finlay and her trusty nanny, Vero, and I loved it. The mystery, the laugh out loud moments, and the ridiculous antics these characters get themselves into make for the most fun read.

I can’t gush about this series enough. I love it, I want everyone to read it, and I want to reread it already. Also, let’s talk about that ending….PLEASE tell me that means book 3 is coming!

I flipped between audiobook and ebook and you can’t go wrong with either! The narration was great and no matter the format this book is so much fun. (I know I know I keep saying that).

Thanks to NetGalley, MacMillan Audio, and Minotaur books for the advanced copies.
