This book was really hard for me to read. I found it kind of boring and slow. The very beginning was interesting but it quickly went down hill. It was very hard for me to stay interested to this book. Overall I would rate this book a 2/5 stars.

This one just wasn’t for me, I’m afraid. Jumped around so much I found myself completely lost. Might have been better if I’d read it as a book first. Wasn’t keen on the narrator. Good idea, but not one I’d recommend.

I will always finish a book because I understand the time and hard work put into writing one. I am also not one to bash a book. That being said, I have to admit that there were moments when I wanted to put it aside. I find the story lacked a flow, it jumped from one scene to the next and I often wondered what was going on. The story jumped from one time to a year or so later or months later quite a few times. This bothered me because it wasn’t really necessary; the story could have continued within the same time frame. It seemed like the author was trying to fit in a lot of story into a single book. How the immortal twin was made was a bit of a curveball - seemingly a rather odd and out of the blue occurrence. Celeste’s relationship with Ethan did not feel authentic either. At the end of the book, around the 90% mark, the highly unlikely resolution comes out of nowhere. I found myself saying “what just happened?”, “already?”, and “how is that even possible?”. The relationships between the characters, unfortunately, felt underdeveloped.
There were a lot of promising ideas. The world that the author created was interesting - the supernatural in modern times is fun. There is a good amount of action that could leave you on the edge of your seat. I only wish it wasn’t over almost as soon as it began. If things had been slowed down a bit and the storyline and characters developed a little more, this could have been written as a duology. I did like the main character, Celeste. She is a driven and believable character. She’s the only one that we get to know really well though.
The thing that definitely bothered me the most was the narrator of the audiobook. There was no emotion and barely even any inflection in the storytelling. I am quite certain that this hindered my enjoyment of the book. I had to listen to the book on 1.5x speed in order to feel the tension that quite often came up.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for a copy of the audiobook in exchange for an honest review.

The Immortal Twin by D. B. Woodling Narrated by: Jamie Lynn at North Loop Productions sadly I found it very hard to get into and the narrator did not suit this book and I could not get into this book and I found this book confusing so I gave up after trying several times. Sorry.

Big Thanks to NetGalley and CamCat Books for my audio.

I can honestly say that this was disappointing. The idea behind it was phenomenal - but I’m not sure it was executed in the best way. Perhaps it was the narrator - the monotone voice wasn’t the best to keep me interested. I don’t know. Just not a fan.

This was just "okay" for me.
I found it a bit hard to follow and carry my imagination through the character development and stroyline. It took me longer to listen - then it was gone from the NetGalley app to actually be able to finish the story. In essence, it was a forced DNF which sucks because even if it's not a fav story, I always like to finish books to give the author the benefit of the doubt to possibly redeem a thought by the book's end. Unfortunately in this case, i cannot speak of this because the book expired from the NetGalley app library before I could finish listening.

Thank you for the opportunity to listen to the book.
Perhaps the print version may have been a better option for me allowing more time to finish it.

Sidenote: with the audiobooks expiring within the NetGalley app when it is archived, really is inconvenient for readers that are approved for many books but sometimes don't get to them in-time before it vanishes,

Many thanks to Netgalley and the publisher/author for providing me with an ALC in exchange for my honest review.

This book was exactly what I wanted it to be! I loved it. I will make sure to check out other books by this author. When I requested this I was just intrigued by the concept of it and I loved how it turned out. This story had a great plot and if you have read this and enjoyed it, This was so much. It was such a great story. I would say give this one a try. I will continue to follow this author. Way to go to this author for not letting me down.

I highly enjoyed the narrator of the audiobook. Kept me listening.

thank you for the audiobook NetGalley.
I ended up dnfing the audio book. Audio books for me need to be engaging . And to be brutally honest the narration of the person reading the book was monotone / emotionless . It made it hard to want to engage in the story that was being told to me.

For an audiobook it’s a great listen. As I go to sleep listening to audiobooks which helps me to keep a calm mind from wool gathering, listening to negative thoughts and emotions including childhood traumatic memories which can lead to nightmares. So if I wake during the night I can hear the book and it’s very important for the times of sleeplessness. So listening to one audiobook is something that takes a number of nights until I understand and have knowledge of the entire story. Definitely a book for teenagers and young adults even readers who enjoy reading or listening to this genre. Certainly a bizarre story and plot which is full of twists and turns.

Wasn’t what I was hoping for! It seemed to take awhile to get good but I really try to finish books whenever possible, hoping for the best!
Celeste & Nick are total opposites but mortal twins! They lost their parents and were adopted by immortals making things in their lives so different! Celeste wasn’t the most interesting character and her brother is the typical bad boy. It didn’t really seem to get interesting until close to the end and that is when I wanted more. Beginning was too drawn pit and really didn’t mesh with the story well. It seemed choppy!
Thank you netgalley for the ARC in exchange for my honest review!

I had previously DNF'd this. But I had to give it another shot since I hate leaving books unfinished. Unfortunately, I had the same experience.

Perhaps it will be a good read as a book but I could not move forward with the narrator. The voice is not a good fit.

Thank you #NetGalley and CamCat Books for giving me the opportunity to listen to this.

This book was good from the start but in the end I was a kind of disappointed. The plot didn't make any sense to me and it seemed so rush.
The relations among the characters were messy.
Thus it wasn't a good read for me.

DNF at 60%
I'm just not enjoying this. The narration is far too juvenile for the target audience, the writing was stilted, there isn't so much as a whiff of a plot, and the time skips are random and clearly used as fillers. Also Celeste is just a very bland character with zero personality except for her love for Tristan and her brother.
Also I'm not sure if an AI was narrating this, but if it were a real person then they [assed the reverse Turing Test (if that's even a thing). She had little expression in her voice and seemed to maintain a constant air of surprise... like in a way that many sentences were ended with that voice lift your get with an exclamation point, even when the sentence clearly wasn't an exclamation or was even a question.
Anyway, not for me.

Well, what to say about my first audiobook... First, I didn't like the narrator that had a flat tone during the entire book and didn't seem much involved in it. Concerning the story itself, the plot was blurry and I was completely lost. The introduction seemed to put the premises of a story that just disappeared afterwards and the narration was constantly jumping in time while nothing was happening in the chapters. I felt that there were no logical links between them, maybe the book was lost in too many subplots, some of them I didn't see the point. And I had the exact same type of feelings about the romance: the protagonists weren't interacting much, the heroine decides to marry someone else while she keeps telling us she's in love with Tristan... The latter element made me hate the heroine which felt selfish and exceptionally immature.

In brief: this book was clearly a miss for me. I didn't connect with either the characters or the plot and the narrator of the audiobook didn't succeed in retaining my attention.

Celeste and Nick are twins, but after Nick becomes immortal, they are separated and have to live completely different lives. I loved how this was shown from Celeste's point of view as the twin that did not receive immortality. It was interesting to see how she tried to live a normal life and ignored the opportunity to go back to her parent's world. Seeing her go through the life her brother was supposed to go through showed how much she cared about him and wished that she had not done what she did. I loved the characters and how easy it was to listen to. The audiobook's narration was boring and monotoned at times, but that has nothing to do with the writing and everything to do with the narrator. I hope there is another book because I loved this.

Thank you for providing me with a copy of this audiobook. I truly think I would have given it a better shot if I had an e-reader version.
The plot hooked me right away (vampire rebellion? Im in). This is totally right up my alley, so I had high expectations. The narrator however, completely ruined this for me. I could not focus through the monotonous drone. Sadly, DNF.

This was definitely not for me. I was intrigued at first but that soon faded.
Thank you to NetGalley for the audio, but sometimes I win with my choices sometimes I lose… and unfortunately this was one of the latter.
