Thank you to the publishers, author and NetGalley for the free copy of this audiobook.

I wanted to like this, but it unfortunately was not the book for me. It honestly just felt too young for me. The main character annoyed me, and I felt like the plot was too scattered. I can see this maybe being a better fit with an early teen crowd, but just wasn't hitting with me.

I WANTED TO LIKE THIS BUT IT WAS HONESTLY A LOT. I FELT LIKE THE PLOT WAS TRYING TO TAKE ON TOO MANY STORYLINES AND IT WAS REALLY ALL OVER THE PLACE. YOUNGER KIDS *MIGHT* LIKE THIS BUT IT WASN’T VERY GOOD IMO. I FELT LIKE THE WHOLE BOOK WAS TRYING TO MOVE TOO FAST AND SLOW AT THE SAME TIME IF THAT MAKES SENSE.

IT HAS ROMANCE - VAMPIRES - COPS - FORBIDDEN LOVE.

I LISTENED TO THIS ON 1.75% SPEED AND THE AUDIOBOOK NARRATOR WASN’T GOOD EITHER. SHE WAS VERY BLAND AND I FELT LIKE SHE DIDN’T GIVE MUCH FOR EACH CHARACTER.

“I VOLUNTARILY READ AND REVIEWED AN ADVANCED COPY OF THIS BOOK. ALL THOUGHTS AND OPINIONS ARE MY OWN.”

For such a melodramatic book the narrator is weirdly monotone but somehow also consistently uptalking.

That said, I'm not a fan of the narrator.

The book itself would do well through a teen lens I'm sure with the "not like other girls" trope, forbidden romance, a twin brother that always gets what he wants, the opulent lifestyle with vampires, etc.

For me if feels like the same story I've read many times over.

I received an ARC of The Immortal Twin by D.B. Woodling for an honest review. I really did not like this one. I spent 90% of the book confused. I hated the dialogue. The narrator irritated me, Sorry, but I did not get anything out of this experience.

Well, sadly this story really didn't do it for me.
It just tries to much, which results in not really succeeding with anything.

There are paranormal elements - yes, but somehow it does not seem as an important part.
Romance - No, not so much!
Teen issues - yes, but none of them elaborated or even followed up.
Adult drama - yes, but again not elaborated.
Crime - yes, but seems misplaced...
