365 days of beautiful pictures and interesting details showing all types of trees all over the world made this book a true joy to read. The photography was superb! The information on each tree was fantastic!
Thank you @NetGalley and @Chronicle Books for the ARC.

This is such a fun book for nature lovers, and I love that there is no right or wrong way to read this. It shares fun facts about trees, one for each day of the year, but you can read as many as you want in a day, or skip around to ones that interest you most. Each description is accompanied by beautiful pictures of trees, and I learned so much about trees that I didn't know before.

A lovely version of a daily devotional book, featuring beautiful photos and artwork of trees and tree-related things with accompanying information, lore, poetry, and more. I learned some fun stuff! This would make a great gift, for yourself or others - it's general enough to appeal to a broad audience while being lovely enough to not feel like a generic gift; I mean, it's hard not to love trees, and everyone could use some daily beauty, amiright?

Such a stunning book! This isn’t just a picture of a different tree each day (though that would have been awesome) this is poetry and art. So much information about trees from all around the world.

From hiking monthly I've always been curious about the trees around me. I remember I once asked someone knowledgeable in tree identification to teach me. They very quickly pointed out 10 different trees around us and named different fact about them. Needless to say all that information went over my head. This book was great for learning about trees at a slow pace.

I received this book for free from Netgalley in exchange of an honest review,

An interesting book, like an encyclopedia of trees given to you in daily doses. With photos, names, and information, even fun stories and facts, about each tree. It's a great gift book, coffee table book, or for all tree lovers. Unique and fun book that I appreciated being able to read, thanks to Netgalley, the author, and the publisher.

Through this book you will definitely see why the word "Majesty" is used to describe a great many of our trees. And although all trees might not necessarily be beautiful, they're almost all in some way interesting. For Nature lovers this will be a great book to have on your library shelf, or even better yet, as a coffee table book. Even if your not all that in tune with nature, the information alone is worth the read. Then lastly, the true glory of this great book, is without a doubt the amazing illustrations, they're a delight for the eyes, and for me, are quit peaceful and soothing. So go ahead and pick up a copy, and enjoy! Happy Reading!!

This is way cooler than I expected! I thought it would just be a straightforward daily digest of interesting trees, prettily photographed, and that would have been nice. There is plenty of that , but, as it turns out, this is so much more. There is real creativity in how the concept of "tree" is expressed from day to day and I loved it. I really enjoyed the extra lessons about art, literature, science, architecture, and more.

This would be a wonderful gift for any nature buffs, but also anyone with a general thirst for knowledge and interesting reading. Checking out the day's article could quickly become a highlight of the day!

Many thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review!

“A tree is beautiful, but what’s more, it has a right to life; like water, the sun and the stars, it is essential. Life on earth is inconceivable without trees.”
- Anton Chekhov

The older I get, the more I am comforted by trees. So, I was delighted to find A Tree a Day: 365 of the World’s Most Majestic Trees by Amy-Jane Beer on #NetGalley. I just wanted to get my #ARC on and was looking for a great story more than nonfiction. But my tree-hugging, botany-obsessed teenager convinced me to read this, and I’m glad I did. This beautiful book, published by Chronicle Books, is full of gorgeous photography, classical art, poetry, and tree quotes (like the one above) in a page-a-day format. It has renewed my (already considerable) appreciation for trees and even has some interesting stories!

You’ll love trees more after reading this book. If you like coffee table books, pick this one up. If you’re ambivalent about trees, you likely won’t remain so. Every reader will find at least one unknown fact, species, event from history, etc., to love.

“We all travel the Milky Way together, trees and men.”
- John Muir

What balm for my weary (and already sun-parched) soul. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’ve got to go plant a tree!

Many thanks to @chroniclebooks for making this book available on @netgalley for review.

A Tree a Day is a book that can be gifted to nature lovers. I liked the diverse trees covered in this book and why each tree is important. The author asks the question, what does a tree mean to you and we realize that every person's answer could be different. This book is a reminder of the beauty of trees and their importance in our lives. A Tree a Day is a beautiful book that teaches every reader something new.

This would be great as a coffee table book or to put on the nightstand to refer to each night before bed. Each day features a tree or specific type of tree and tells you why they are unique and memorable. I learned so much reading this one! Definitely a book I'd love to take in one day at a time. Great for any nature lover.

Thank you Chronicle Books and NetGalley for the eARC in exchange for my honest review.

I loooved this book! The concept, the cover, featuring a tree a day just made me happy. It made me take the time to learn about trees featured in this book I had not heard about before. I have always had an affinity for trees, there are trees I have stood in front of and it made me grab my heart. This book at one time made me weep it touched me that much. When we have had someone born in our family we plant a tree in honor of them and celebrate the beginning of their life on this earth. Much meaning goes into the selection of the tree and where it is planted on our acreage. This book inspired me even more in my lifelong quest to continue to learn about trees.

My favorite about this book:
It used the word majestic upfront because trees are that, majestic! I grew up with one of the most iconic trees in the world The Lone Cypress. I watched how it involved in protection over the years and in the area where I grew up there are certain trees that only grow there on the Monterey Peninsula and to anywhere else in the world. It made me curious, why and that began a lifelong quest for knowledge about understanding trees especially the soul of trees. When I was in Master Gardener classes we focused on trees a lot and I learned about trees when they are injured never heal but form a scar around the wound and have amazing survival properties that their rings will tell so much of their life history. Anyway back to A Tree A Day and why I like it so much. This book gave me the same feeling that I had when I first saw the Lone Cypress. Trees have meant a great deal to millions of us, right? They give us food, shelter, shade, shelter from wind, etc. and for many of us such as myself, I've planted a tree for every family member and for every grandchild born. This book touches on the majesty of trees and why they are so valuable. I loved the format of this book, a Tree A Day. It wasn't busy, it wasn't too detailed, it just gave something we could read about a tree every day and that is a wonderful concept. Most notable for me of course when the author included The Lone Cypress but there are many others that she featured that spoke to me such as the Tunnel of Love in Ukraine, the Chestnut tree that gave Ann Frank so much comfort, and that she wrote about often, Chene Chapelle, The Money Tree, The Hungry Tree on and on. It's a beautiful book and I just don't buy many tangible books but I can't wait to buy this one for my coffee table. Trees. I wish I could plant one a day. I've planted over fifty on our property and to try to convey why trees mean so much to us isn't easy but this book is easy on the eyes and food for my soul.

I received an ARC and am giving a very heartfelt honest review for a book. I can't wait to purchase A Tree A Day when it comes out on April 4th, 2022.

As a self proclaimed tree hugger, this book was a delight. This book has highlighted some of the most beautiful and unique trees throughout history. Really enjoyed the history, art and lore provided.

As the name says, this is a book of photographs about 365 trees. They are beautiful. I wonder if the author photographed and went to see each of these trees, in which case: (a) that was a fantastic feat; and (b) it makes it so much more meaningful. What a great adventure for anyone who likes to travel. Note: some of the trees aren't actual trees, such as painted rocks of trees. But still awesome. Each photo comes with a short description.

A beautiful book!

The poem for June 1st really resonated with me and I've asked the publisher if I could create a poster of the poem with an inset of the book cover and sell the books for them. (So how is that for an endorsement?!?!)

The pictures are beautiful and as a tree hugger (and American Conifer Society member conifersociety.org) I've learned a lot of miscellaneous facts / knowledge about trees. Definitely more than I thought.

Highly recommended. I'm planning to order a copy.

Thank you to NetGalley for the opportunity to review the advance read copy of A Tree a Day in exchange for an honest review, to the author Amy-Jane Beer and to the publisher Chronicle Books..

“I think that I shall never see a poem so lovely as a tree”, excerpted from the poem "Trees" by Joyce Kilmer (1913). Revel in a glorious celebration of 365 trees from around the world and the festivals, traditions, legends, artists and writers inspired by their magnificent splendor. Extensively researched and full of beautiful photography, rich illustrations and historical anecdotes, this book would be the perfect gift for any nature-lover in your life!

Such an interesting book! I think reading about a tree is a great way to start each day. I like that it features real trees and their histories, alongside the fictional and mythological. The photographs and images in the e-ARC I read were blurry, though I'm sure that was just how it appeared in the reader. Each page has enough text to draw you into that particular day's tree, a starting point for if you wanted to then go and read about it in more detail.

Book Review ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

A Tree A Day

A Tree A Day gives the reader a bird’s eye view of trees worldwide and their connection to humans and facts and history about them.

Looking at and reading about one tree a day would be ideal. That way, you can give the information time to sink in before moving on to another tree.

I love trees, so I’m drawn to this book. The photographs are stunning. There are so many unusual trees. I especially enjoyed the Wyndham Prison tree in Australia, the Bottle Tree in Africa and the Arabian Peninsula, and the Money Trees in England. With 365 trees, everyone should be able to find favorites.

Thank you to NetGalley, the author, and the publisher for providing an ebook for me to read and review.
