Thank you for the EArc. A Tree A Day is quite literally 365 trees, real, mythical, and fictional. There was so much information and so much beauty in each entry. Lovely read, the only miss is (spoiler alert) no Halloween Tree on 10/31 which is a favorite.

A Tree a Day by Amy-Jane Beer What a treasure!. Concise, informative information on trees and their histories. Many beautiful pictures. So many different varieties, a whole new world of trees. Highly recommended.

Thank you to the author, publisher and NetGalley for the opportunity to preview the book.

4.5 stars rounded up

I love trees a lot. Like a weird amount. So this book was right up my alley. The writing was clear and interesting and informative. The pictures were beautiful. It’s definitely a book meant to be held in your hands (ironically enough), not squinted at on a phone screen.

A really wide variety of trees featured! Massive trees, old trees, rare trees, edible trees, popular trees, historically significant trees, fictional trees, paintings of trees, poems about trees. Trees from all over the world, but definitely England-centric

It did get a touch repetitive at times, but that’s to be expected — it’s designed to be read one paragraph a day, not in three sittings

Thank you to NetGalley for the advanced copy of this book. My review is left voluntarily.

This is a cute book!

The book is broken down as a book a day - literally a book for each day of the year. The book includes fictional and real trees. There's pictures, information about the tree, and some history or significance of the tree. The book spans the glove and fictional worlds. This is a fun way to learn about different famous or significant trees and how they've impacted us as humans.

Pros: Although this book features a tree for each day of the year and can be read day by day, I enjoyed it so much that I read it in one sitting. I love how many topics this book includes--nature, geography, history, art. When I first started reading, I though the book would just feature beautiful photographs of the trees, but I was pleasantly surprised to see the many forms of art used to feature the trees, including stained glass, botanical prints, paintings, stamps, art installations, sculptures, political cartoons, poetry, children's books, china patterns, and lines of Shakespeare. I also appreciated how many of the trees were featured on dates related to the tree in some way. I think this book would make the perfect gift for lovers of nature and art.

Cons: None that I can think of. This book was so much more than I assumed with I first started reading!

Thank you to NetGalley and Chronicle Books for the opportunity to read this book!

Nature is a natural balm to the soul. I have read about Tree Bathing in Japan, and believe it's a concept and practice that should take place around the globe.

Even if you live in a city and can't get to nature, this book will provide a daily Zen moment for you to be one with the trees. The photos and daily entries can provide a connection to nature.

I was provided with a copy of this book by the publisher and NetGalley in exchange for an honest opinion. All opinions are mine.

Not surprisingly, this is quite good. With a wide variety of photos and images from around the world (and time), this is reminder of the diversity that surrounds us. I was slightly disappointed in the quality of the photos (I was expecting world-class photos throughout), but the images were nonetheless high-quality overall, interesting and well-selected. Well done overall.

I really appreciate the free ARC for review!!

What an absolutely fantastic book!! I've always been a fan of trees, but am constantly frustrated that I don't know enough about them, especiallytheir names. Thank you so much to NetGalley and Chronicle Books for the ARC. The photography in this book was sensational, but what I loved best about it was the fact that I got a little history, a little poetry and a little geography throughout the book. So well-written, each page was very engaging.. Congrats to Amy-Jane Beer on this gorgeous book. I am definitely planning to buy this for a friend who is an avid gardener.
