I remember reading the Little Prince as a child and this book was everything I could have hoped for. Loved the real-life examples and tangible advice to help you live that life. This was a sweet, awesome book and one that every 90s baby should read.

Thank you for the early look!

The Little Prince is one of my very favorite books. In How to Live Like the Little Prince, Stephane Garnier takes the text of a beautiful story and uses it to give her reason inspiration to live a life of wonder, of adventure, and of freedom.

Fans of The Little Prince will love this book. It is beautifully written and illustrated, and I for one can't wait to put this one on my shelf.

I grabbed “How To Live Like The Little Prince: A Grown-Up’s Guide to Rediscovering Imagination, Adventure, and Awe” by Stéphane Garnier on NetGalley’s “Read Now” section because “The Little Prince” was one of my favorite books as a child, one of the books that made me initially fall in love with literature. This book takes a deep dive into the titular character, giving adults helpful advice on how to reignite that hopeful and whimsical nature of living that so many of us seem to lose as we transition into adulthood.

This book was broken into separate sections that offered different advice that were titled, “How to ___ like the Little Prince.” My two favorite sections were the sections about love and the sections about letting go. The advice offered seemed relevant (especially in a pandemic world), and they resonated where I am in life right now.

The section that resonated with me the least is the part about following your dreams. Ever the cynic, I couldn’t help but to think that the advice in this section favors the privileged. Many people (myself included), find it difficult to put everything away and follow our dreams when our main priority is to live day to day.

All in all, I enjoyed the book. Am I going use this book as a framework to live my life? No, most definitely not. Am I going to take a few tidbits from this book? Absolutely.

Check this one out on April 12, 2022!

Thank you, Chronicle Books!

3/5 stars.

This book was much more insightful than I was expecting it to be. I read The Little Prince as a child and it’s always been a book that I have held on to throughout ever house I’ve lived in it has kept its space on my shelf.

What I always loved about The Little Prince was his ability to see the world differently, and that was the focus I felt was placed here in How to Live Like the Little Prince. The idea that who we are as children are still with us into adulthood is a constant push throughout the title and it led me to think about who I was as a child and what part of me remained.

Do we realize how many dreams we have as children that stay hidden within us? Do we put enough value onto these thoughts that have been with us since childhood?

Many times throughout this book the author seems to state that as children our possibilities are endless, our dreams are boundless and it is society and the day to day life that teaches us we have limits.

It left me thinking, and ultimately I think that is the point.

How much of myself have I lost just by growing up? How much of my childhood wants are still inside me and still push me today?

If you’re interested in looking at the world through a different lense through childhood possibility, this book is for you!

This book takes an empathetic approach and gives bite size approaches and allows you to have kindness and patience with yourself when dealing with life. This is so necessary for everyone to read in life. Highly recommend. Especially loved the reflection to true life to humanize my feelings and relate. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

I see what the author was trying to do, but it didn't translate very well. The whole point of this book was to be a self help book or a guide on how to live your life like the little prince from the famous book The Little Prince. I just didn't understand the points that the author was trying to make and it didn't grab or pull me into the book. I found myself getting distracted and pausing to put the book down every so often. Originally I was very interested in this book because I had read The Little Prince when I was younger and wanted to see how this author interpreted the message of The Little Prince. Instead of loving this book, I ended up not wanting to even re-read The Little Prince. Overall, I would not recommend this book to anyone, unless you find mindless drivel appealing to you.

The Little Prince was one my my favorite childhood reads, as well as for some of my friends. This book reads in a similar tone and style, but is directed at helping adults to bring out their inner child and remember those simpler times. It was something that I definitely needed to read right now, amid the craziness of not only life, but pandemic-life, and I know my friends will want to be reminded, too....so much so that I've already pre-ordered a few copies of this book for gifts!!
