This book was perfectly okay and I can see it being a good beach read (or any other time when you don't want to focus very hard). I enjoyed the ending.

PRIVACY has all the staple ingredients for a wild thriller where the reader is left stumped by the end of it all.
There’s an interesting well paced plot, diverse unique characters, writing that will just floor you.
Nina has written another totally engaging novel.
That left me intrigued with the plot, the pages were flying throughout, an one un-forgetable read! She did an outstanding job of keeping her reader engaged.
This is a thriller with lots of twists and turns that kept me guessing until the end. Be prepared to literally hold your breath in certain parts, afraid of what might be coming next. I loved it! I will read anything that Nina Sadowsky puts out, she is by far one of the best!
Overall, it's an addictive thriller that'll leave you speechless with an unforgettable twist.

This book was okay to a point, I just couldn’t seem to get into the book. I wish the main point of the story line stuck out more than what it did. The author has some awesome books but this was just one that didn’t stick out to me the best.

Wow! What a ride! I was hooked from the very first page. Besides being a gripping and fast-paced story, this book gives you a lot to think about with regards to privacy on many levels. I really appreciated the way the two main characters, Laina and Cal, were developed. I’m not a huge fan of romance books, but I liked the way the author integrated the blossoming relationship of the main characters into the story. I also liked the development of the secondary characters. Whether it was friends, romantic partners, or patient/client relationships, the author does a great job of painting a very believable picture of Laina’s life, both the good and the bad.

One of the best psychological thrillers I’ve read in a while. I will definitely be adding her backlist to my TBR.

This romantic thriller explores what privacy means in contemporary life.

Dr. Laina Landers is a great therapist! She goes the extra mile, is caring and compassionate and dedicated to her job. We first see her at work when she rushes to a hostage scene to talk down her client husband from hurting his wife. It's a strange story as both were successfully seeing her in couples therapy and he had just announced his candidacy for State government.

Cal Murray, is a very ambitious African American journalist (glad to point this out, it's so much more interesting then the plain joe white cop hero) who meets Laina while covering the hostage story. He chases her down afterwards and there is an immediate attraction. Fortunately he's there to assist because, strangely, Laina’s patients ALL begin receiving mystery gifts that address their innermost fears and traumas. Laina is also targeted by a mysterious person. Someone has a vendetta against her - can they get to the bottom of this before it's too late?

I received this ARC from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. This was an interesting psychological thriller with a big surprise twist at the end! Laina and her partner are therapists who run a clinic . Someone is targeting the practice and leaving intimidating packages for several of Laine’s clients. The chapters alternate between Laina , her practice, a new love interest (Cal) and a person spying on Laina’s associates and clients. Laina falls in love with Cal, a black man who is a TV reporter. Together, they try to solve the mystery of who is spying and sending threatening packages and messages to Laina’s vulnerable clients. I enjoyed the story and learning about the many clients who came to the clinic for help.

Laina Landers, a respected therapist, realized that strange things were happening to many of her clients. She was caught up in these events and found herself in the media glare. Cal, the journalist that was covering these strange events started digging into the lives of Lainas's clients and found a tangled web of lies and deceit. I enjoyed the way the author made everyone seem guilty of targeting Laina's clients and how these lies were untangled and eventually revealed the shocking truth. The character development of Laina and Cal was very interesting and detailed. It portrayed how their pasts shaped their futures and the relationships that they were in. I found this book riveting and full of suspense. It really made me realize how little privacy we really have as individuals now that life is largely lived online.

Privacy by Nina Sadowsky started off fine, but veered off into political correctness, and that is when I lost interest. Not necessary at all to the story, and definitely turned me away from reading.

I don’t know how I feel about the book. For the most part it was just ok and I pretty much figured out the twist fairly early. However I did like how it unfolded at the end.

Dr. Laina Landers is a marriage and family therapist dedicated to helping her patients. After one of them holds his wife hostage, she is immediately present at the scene. She is able to successfully deescalate the situation. The incident propels her to stardom however, not everyone is a fan of the doctor.

Someone is watching, waiting. The best way to get to the doctor is to go through her patients, and that’s just what this person sets out to do. One after the next Laina’s patients begin to receive odd gifts and Laina is the victim of a burglary. The criminal leaves a message behind to all his victims; I’m watching you.

An interesting take on what “privacy” really means in the social media driven, camera-filled world we currently live in.

The two main characters in this book are well-drawn. There is Laina, the main character, a therapist at the center of an explosive domestic violence event at the beginning of the novel. And then there is Cal, an investigative journalist looking into the story who of course eventually falls in love with Laina.

One thing to mention about this book is that it reads a little more like a romance and less like a thriller than some of Sadowsky’s previous books. While I generally prefer the straightforward thrillers, in this case I enjoyed the more languid and character-driven way this one was written. But being a bit more of a romance, this book comes with more of the sex and more of the adverbs and adjectives that these books traditionally have. Luckily, it is skillfully done, so I still enjoyed it.

I really enjoyed the character of Cal, and it was fun to read a mystery investigated by a Black broadcast journalist rather than a white cop for a change. The plot flowed well and although I guessed the ending, I was very happy with the way it was executed. You know how sometimes you guess the ending and you get so worked up about it that any other ending would disappoint you? This was one of those times and I’m glad it followed so well from the clues.

All in all, though I liked Sadowsky’s previous novel Convince Me a bit better than this one, this was a very enjoyable read and I think its two very appealing main characters will land especially well with fans of the romantic suspense genre. 3.75 stars. I’ll definitely be reading Sadowsky’s next book, blurb unseen!

This was such a wild ride. A journalist is trying to make his mark by finding interesting stories. When he sees a therapist, Laina, be able to talk down a volatile situation with one of her patients, he is intrigued. It becomes personal to him. Her patients start to be targeted, and it seems someone has access to Laina's confidential files. It's a race to find out who is behind this, and how they can be stopped before people are hurt. This was a GREAT read, full of twists and turns, and honestly, some lessons for us in this age of technology and lack of privacy. Highly recommended. This book was great, the characters were well developed. The plot was interesting. Highly recommend it.

Wow! This is truly intense, gripping and absolutely surprising psychological thriller meets romantic suspense!

It’s a like exciting movie binge watch session to devour this entire execution. Thanks to author’s screenwriting experience, I was more intrigued as a film maker and read each chapters as they were scenes from a successful and unputdownable movie script.

Final twist was hard blow! I never see it coming! I still bang my head against the wall and keep telling myself “stupid, how can you see that obvious thing?”

The execution of mystery was slow burn but it still kept my attention intact. I’m drawn into Lania Landers even though her name reminds us of villanelle in DC Comics. She was a enigmatic character from the beginning who always puts her patients first. A secretive, a little fragile psychiatrist truly cares the patients’ well beings she works.

But an urgent call she gets from her famous politician patient putting gun to his wife’s head makes her alert. She’s bold enough to go to her client’s house to negotiate with him even though he threatens her to kill her! And luckily she manages to stop him! In the meantime hotshot reporter Cal Murray arrives to the crime scene to get more juicy details from bold psychiatrist who saved the day.

Cal Murray gets wooed by the beauty and vulnerability of Lania. And Lania who still nurses the wounds of her traumatic and secretive past slowly learns to trust her by accepting making an interview despite the hesitations of her longtime partner Harley Weida.

But there’s peeping Tom/ Joe Goldberg out there, spying on her clients, sending them special gifts triggering their worst secrets’ coming out with “ I’m watching you” notes plastered on them!

Who targets Lanie’s clients and what’s her/ his motivation? Could be someone really close to her forming a secret revenge plan? But why?

Nothing as it seems in this book so I advise you give it your full attention not to get fooled like me!

“Privacy” by Nina Sadowsky has a perfect title - just want to note that. It’s a fitting title and really asks “how much privacy does one have and who does one share that privacy with, if they do?” The positives about this book - kept my interest for the most part (some bits were a bit slow) and it was an engaging read. I liked the author’s vocabulary and use of different adjectives to describe things. I liked how the “Watcher” sections actually flowed with the storyline. I suspected what might’ve been going on about 3/4 of the way through the book, but it didn’t diminish my enjoyment. What I didn’t like - two characters with the same name (just bugs me in general). Not a fan of a few of the characters, though with red herrings abounding not everyone was shown in their best light, I’m sure. Wasn’t a fan of the romance scenes, just not my cup of descriptive tea - but I’m sure others would find them an acceptable part of the story. Neither a plus nor a negative, I could see this being a TV movie and Ms. Sadowsky’s past in that field was evident. A solid enjoyable read.

Hmmmm I just don't know about this one?! The storyline was good, interesting, it had a lot of twists and turns! This book went in a whole other direction than I thought it was going! It had intrigue, light suspense but a great who done it! My only fault was that it was a little boring I guess?! I kept waiting for some big bam! Moment that never came?! This book was sent to me electronically for review by Netgalley. It is murder and intrigue in a story woven by a talented author. I did not enjoy the themes running throughout this book, but others might.

I absolutely love this book. It’s a fast pace thriller I will keep you on the edge of your seat until the last page. The main character is absolutely somebody who can relate to and can get behind. Thriller lovers are going to be obsessed with this book!

Nina Sadowsky has written another thriller that I gobbled in less than 2 days. One does have to eat and other things! Fast paced, with a deep knowledge of psychology and trauma, Ms Sadowsky has a gift for twists and surprises that ranks with the best of this genre. I love when I can’t guess the outcome, and all too often it’s obvious. Not with Privacy — it’s deftly crafted and Ms Sadowsky’s background in the film industry translates so well to novel writing. This book would be wonderfully adaptable to a film or miniseries ! Very entertaining and skillfully executed (pun intended). Highly recommend!
