Loved reading this book and 1 of my favorite authors if you haven't read this book I highly recommend doing so. I suggest reading in order.

I really liked this book. Sometimes when a series is so far along the characters and plot become a bit dull but these characters remain fresh and unique.
Thank you NetGalley for the advance read.

As with most of the cozy mystery series I am committed to, I am often more invested in the characters' developing stories than the mystery. Lucy Burdette does a great job of writing a good whodunnit, but to see how Hayley has settled into her life in Key West and how her family and friends have changed over the years, is very satisfying.

An interesting plot development in A Dish to Die For was Hayley finding a vintage Key West cookbook from 1947. It showed what ingredients were popular then and how wives defined their lives. This initial backstory becomes integral to the murder and was quite compelling.

Also getting to meet Nathan’s father was an interesting plot development.

Thank you NetGalley and Crooked Lane Books for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Hayley Snow is adjusting quite nicely to married life.
It isn't until a relaxing picnic on the beach turns deadly, that Hayley finds herself wrapped up in another murder investigation. Her husband Nathan is trying to be supportive, but the appearance of his father seems to shake him up a bit.
I always enjoy a Hayley Snow mystery and A Dish to Die For will certainly make you hungry for some vintage food.
I'm happy to recommend this book to all mystery livers.

Another hit for the Key West Food Critic cozy mystery series!

Food critic Haley Snow's dog Ziggy finds a body of a man in a shallow grave on the beach. Davis Jager, a local bird watcher, identifies him as GG Garcia. Garcia is a Key West land developer with a bad reputation for over development and womanizing. Haley finds herself drawn into the case after Jager is attacked in the parking lot of a local restaurant right after talking to Haley and Miss Gloria. I have read all the books in this series and eagerly look forward to the next one. Thank you Net galley!

Nice to be back in Key West after the last one in Scotland. This is the first book I've read which takes place in post-COVID times. Since we aren't really there yet, it was slightly odd. We are introduced to yet another member of Nathan's family, his father. I think his father's role in the book could have been enhanced with more explanation of why he was there or interaction that would explain it.

The mystery was there, but takes a secondary role to Hayley's life. So, if after 11 books you care about the characters you'll probably enjoy the book. If you want a real string mystery plot, you may not enjoy it as much. I will say the conclusion of the mystery is the best outcome one could ask for given the motive.

I received my copy from Netgalley in exchange for my honest review.

Hayley Snow is taking a well deserved break with a friend and her dog when Ziggy literally digs up a body on the beach. How can Hayley be involved in yet another suspicious death? At least this time it’s not in Key West proper, so her husband Nate doesn’t respond to the call.

While Hayley has no intention of digging to find out what happened to the man this time, she finds herself drawn and is even recruited to help the local police. It seems the dead man had lots of enemies, but who wanted him dead enough to actually do the deed? Hayley just hopes they find the murderer before she finds herself buried in the sand as well.

I adore this series and always love the recipes. The banana cream pie had me drooling from the first mention of it and now I’ve added the ingredients to this week’s shopping list so that we can enjoy it this weekend. I’d never want to live in Key West, because I need open spaces and no crowds, but I do enjoy the visits with each and every entry in this series. Especially with a solid whodunit with red herrings a plenty and some quirky and fun characters.

This was my first Lucy Burdette book. This was an impulse download from NetGalley but I enjoyed it immensely. The only thing that had been concerning me a bit is that the story doesn't pick pace for most of the part and the. suddenly a lot of information keeps on coming. I think Goodreads should go be the chance for us to rate in points.. it's not just a 3 ⭐ but maybe like a 3.75 ⭐ but I can't seem to give .75...

I have to mention a major trigger warning. There is mention of sexual assault.

The best part for me in this entire book was the mentions of food, island life... There was a lot of importance given to family and friendship and definitely food, there're recipes at the end of the book .
This book is part of a series and I didn't know that when I downloaded, though it will not affect reading in anyway. I guess if I had come to this book in the chronological order I would get a better idea about the relationships between each character. Whatever we are required to know to enjoy this book is provides but having idea about their history doesn't hurt and makes me feel more connected.
The characters were relatable and common. No one has anything extra that will stand out like a super power and that's exactly what I liked about the characters. Everyone has a quality that we will like and dislike. And the we feel disgusted about the negative characters mentioned in the book...

I hope this book will be enjoyed by everyone who picks this up

This is my first read of a Lucy Burdette novel, and it did not disappoint. There were hints to previous stories but not much at all in the way of spoilers. She does a great job of mixing fictional scenarios in with real places in Key West, relating the past with the present. Her writing is engaging, and the characters are interesting.

A captivating thriller that leaves you hungry for more. The tale being told within A Dish to Die for gets peeled back layer, after delicious layer, as the book progresses - I couldn't put it down! I am definitely looking forward to more.

The Latest Foodie Fads…
Key West is calling in the latest Food Critic mystery. It should all be fun and frolics with the latest foodie fads but when a serene lunch date throws up a body things turn murderous. Can Hayley Snow ferret out some clues from an old cookbook? Enjoyable, entertaining, wholly escapist and a worthy addition to the series.
