I loved this book. I finished this in a day because I loved all these characters so much. I’m sincerely hoping this becomes a series because I can’t imagine not “knowing” what these characters are up to anymore.

The narrators were amazing!

This is a fun to read witchy romance novel with the feel of a cozy mystery. Gwen's family has been forbidden to practice magic with the constant threat of "watchers" who will turn them in to the witches' council if any of them were to practice magic. When Gwen's adoptive sister sends a vaguely threatening letter to Gwen and her cousins, Trudy and Milo, their lives change in wild and witchy ways. This is a laugh out loud endearing book and I highly recommend it.

Review
A Letter To Three Witches
By Elizabeth Bass

If readers are ready to relax with some eccentric characters, funny situations, and entertaining conundrums then this light read is certainly for you. There’s plenty of plot holes in far-fetched conclusions what this book is about escaping your every day and having a little fun.

Great narration helped bring the story to life.

⭐️⭐️⭐️ 3 lighthearted stars with a PG rating

A Letter to Three Witches is supposed to be a funny, relaxing good time standalone book where three cousins all get a letter from another cousin saying she is moving to New York at the end of the week and taking one of their boyfriends/husbands with her. As Gwen, Trudy and Milo work together to try and figure out what Tannith is up to and which man she is trying to steal some shenanigans ensue.

Most of the story it in Gwen’s PoV. She is technically a witch along with others in her family, but due to a mess up one of her ancestors made, her family is forbidden from practicing magic. She has been living with her boyfriend for about six months and things seem to be going okay, so she is really concerned he is going to run off with her cousin/raised sister later in the week. When she shows up at Trudy’s house, she and Milo are in a similar discussion about Milo’s boyfriend and how sure he is that it is him she is after.

Most of this is kinda cute and funny. As Gwen discovers that her cousins are dabbling a little in witchcraft and Trudy is accidently putting spells into her cupcakes, some hilarity ensues as the situation sometimes gets out of control. There are a few issues, as it is hard to believe each person is so unsure in their relationship to the point that they think one of there significant others could be bespelled away. But learning a few of Gwen’s family secrets was a little fun.

This book is not perfect; there are a few little plot holes that were a little eh. Then there is Gwen’s love life. It is pretty clear she and her boyfriend Daniel aren’t really all that compatible, but when a new love interest is introduced he does come off a bit like a stalker, if not an adorable one.

Overall, this is a fun light read it you want something you don’t have to throw a lot of thought into. I did like the PoV from the cat as that was entertaining and Trudy’s situation and accidental magic was also part of my favorite things in the book. Just don’t overthink the situations and you’ll be fine and enjoy the story.

Narration:
Emily Durante and Nick Mondelli did a good job portraying the characters of the story. I enjoyed Nick’s version of an emotionally co-dependent cat the most though. I was able to listen to this at my usual 1.5x speed.

Thank you NetGalley and Kensington Books for the chance of reading this lovely and fun story. The book is hilarious, entertaining, quick to read. I’m giving this story three stars because I really enjoyed reading it, but I feel the plot was all over the place, so it got me confused so many times. that I had to put it down because I got bored.

I received a free digital ARC from the publisher via Netgalley in exchange for an honest and unbiased review.

I requested to read A Letter to Three Witches by Elizabeth Bass as it reminded me of other witchy romance books that I have read and loved. We follow a group of cousins who are aware of their magical ancestry but have never been allowed to practice witchcraft. This is because one of their ancestors caused issues with their poor magic control many years ago.

When family and romance problems cause their powers to come alive a series of events is set in place that the family must try to regain control of before the council of witches finds out. This group of ‘watchers’ could punish their family even more than they already have. Whilst the book is billed as a rom-com, and does have romantic elements, it reads more like a cozy mystery. I really enjoyed the mystery elements of the book which included them trying to find out more about their relatives, their powers and what a certain cousin is really up to.

One of my favorite aspects of the story were the chapters from the cats perspective, they were so funny and spot on of how I imagine my cats love hate relationship with humans being! Whilst this story had a bit of a slow start I overall really enjoyed the fun family bonds and various hijinks throughout the story. I believe this is the beginning of a new series and look forward to reading more from this author.

A Letter to Three Witches
by Elizabeth Bass
Narrated by Emily Durante & Nick Mondelli

I received a digital arc of this audiobook in exchange for an honest review.

I am usually a romance reader and this book was categorized as romance. However I would consider it a romance in the same way I would consider the tv show Bewitched a romance in that it’s a comedy about a witch and her quirky family and there happen to be some romantic relationships that occur in the background. Really though the meat and potatoes of the story is about coming to terms with who you are in your family, who you want to be and what you want out of life.

The book alternates between our heroine and a cat who is a witch familiar but not hers. Our main characters are technically witches but not allowed to practice due to reasons. So it’s not magic and spell craft all over the place if that’s what you’re looking for. Still a very fun read of inexperienced witches in a modern world trying to make it through life. The male love interest really takes more of a backseat and I wouldn’t even categorize him as a “hero” playing equal opposite to the heroine because it’s really more about her and her family. There is an HEA, no open door, not a lot of smooching, much more plot heavy. Light on the romance. Trigger warnings - generational stigma from relatives that goofed up big, loss of cultural identity, orphan/foster sibling/frenemy situation.

I never knew what to expect next, it frequently surprised me, quite the enjoyable read. 4.5/5 stars.

I picked this audiobook on a whim without any expectations, and I absolutely loved it! Gwen is a witch who, along with her entire family, has been prohibited from practicing her craft. As events unfold, Gwen and her cousins Trudy and Milo find that sometimes magic cannot be easily controlled, leading to some laugh-out-load moments. Despite being a light and quick read, the characters still had depth and the story was well thought out. I did not predict the ending, and even though I didn't love the end, overall this is a read that I can recommend. I want a sequel with Gwen, Milo and Trudy!

Thank you so much Dreamscape for this early copy of A Letter to Three Witches. I was hoping for more from this one. I love to read witch books. I just found myself drifting at times. I think maybe it was the narrators. Mainly the male narrator.

This was a fun read! I loved the trio of witches that needed to work together to secretly use their long lost power to overcome their cousin. They had to go through a series of mishaps and challenges, but I thought it was fun and light hearted! I thought this was a perfect mix of magic and a little mystery! I enjoyed listening to this book and I found myself looking forward to having time to listen to this book. I recommend it!

"Bewitched meets Practical Magic in this sparkling and quirky rom-com with an enchanted twist" sounds like it would be a story I would really enjoy. Unfortunately, A LETTER TO THREE WITCHES did not live up to this marketing. At all.

This is narrated by Emily Durante & Nick Mondelli and both gave a very dry, one-note performance so this might be one of those books that will be received better if you read it yourself rather than listen to the audiobook. There are spans of the novel I zoned out on because the audiobook performance was so boring. Honestly, not sure why the cat is given space to be one of the points of view? There's not enough of it to make it really relevant so it just sits weird within the narrative as a whole.

Overall I felt like the story was convoluted, the characters weren't all that interesting, and the plot wasn't fully fleshed out. Also there isn't really much romance happening for a novel to be described as a rom-com. Trudy's emotions unknowingly causing her to perform magic was interesting, but Tannith was a major disappointment as a character. And the time setting was... odd? Gwen keeps "flipping" her phone open and closed but then other references are more current to 2022. It honestly felt like the synopsis and the actual novel are two different books.

I can see how some may enjoy this novel, but for me it's forgettable.

A big thanks to @dreamscape_media for the opportunity to read and review this audiobook!

New to a serious relationship, Gwen receives a letter that her adopted sister (and fellow witch), Tannith, is moving to New York…and she’s taking a significant other of a family member with her. Gwen’s cousins Milo and Trudy receive the same letter and once they compare notes hijinx for high stakes ensue. The results are equal parts hilarious and frustrating. In the end, all the cousins find the love they didn’t even know they were after and Tannith won’t be a future problem…or will she?

This book was a new age telling of Sabrina the Teenage Witch meets The Rules of Magic. It was a little bit too sappy and predictable for my taste but overall it was fun and lighthearted. There was slight delay between the end of one chapter and the next that was just a hair too long and always made me check to see if my book was still playing. I’m interested to see how the story ends if there is a sequel and to explore more of Esme and Grizz’s perspectives.

A Letter to Three Witches by Elizabeth Bass
Contemporary paranormal romance. On the lighter side of the genre.
From a family of witches, Trudy, Gwen and Milo are prohibited from practicing magic. But a letter sent to them from Tannith threatening to run away with their significant other, has the three using magic for the first time in their lives. With staggering and unpredictable results.

Funny situations, family eccentricity, and unique pets.
It was a bit of a slow start for me but the addition of the housebound family member added some quirkiness and interest to the story.

🎧 I listened to an audiobook copy of this story narrated by Emily Durante and Nick Morelli.
The majority of the book was from Gwen’s POV which was performed by Emily. She did a great job with voice variance, pauses, emotions and characters talking to each other. The conversational laugh, comment, pause made each character stand out clearly. 4 chapters were by Gris, the cat / Nick. Those were amusing and a fun POV.
I listened to the recording at 1.25 speed for a comfortable conversation speed. I started with 1.0 for the first two chapters for nuance and clarity but the higher sped was preferred.
The overall sound quality seemed a little tinny. Hoping that was just my preview copy.

I received a copy of this from NetGalley and Dreamscape Media.

A Letter to Three Witches is a fantasy mystery about a witch, Gwen, whose whole family has been banned from practicing their craft under threat of super scary consequences, but the magic starts popping out in inconvenient ways and now they don't have the skills to correct their mistakes.

The story starts off with a letter from Gwen's boyfriend stealing, gaslighting, hateful adopted sister, Tannith, who says she's stealing one of the cousin's paramours at the end of the week. The three cousins spend the week trying to correct the spells go awry and figure out who Tannith thinks she's running off with. To say more would give away too many spoilers, but the characters were well-developed and the story fast-paced.

The audio narration was delightful

Thank you to Dreamscape Media and NetGalley for sending me an ARC audiobook! This was an entertaining read. It felt like watching a romcom family drama without the romance. A family member sends a cryptic message to her family members, who are witches that are not allowed to practice magic without severe punishment. Through many mishaps of unpracticed witchcraft, everything goes haywire, with relationships on the ropes, while the family tries to discover if they're being watched and what their sister is actually up to and how she knows so much. Interspersed with chapters from the cat's perspective, this is a fun, lighthearted mystery that is perfect for spooky season.

This review is for the audiobook of 'A Letter to Three Witches.'

I have to start by saying this was such a cute and sweet story. I was a little nervous starting it, as I wasn't sure if I could handle the whole story via the cat's perspective, but that was just the very beginning and then the cat was sparingly sprinkled in for the rest of the story.
I thought Elizabeth Bass did an excellent job of creating characters and magic in a fun and engaging way, and I would definitely read (or listen to, as the case may be) the next book she comes up with.

A Letter to Three Witches by Elizabeth Bass is a Fun, Entertaining, Fast-Paced Comedy.
The book starts with Tannith sending a letter to 3 Witches.. Gwen, Milo, & Trudy (all cousins) informing them that she is moving and running off with one of their partners. This letter has them all worried, which spirals them into some forbidden magic and comedy of errors.
Thank you NetGalley for the ARC in return for an honest review.

I was really intrigued by the synopsis of this story, so I was excited to read this one. The story starts with three cousins (Gwen, Trudy and Milo) receiving a letter from their adopted cousin Tannith. In the letter she tells them that she is moving to New York and that she will be doing so with one of their significant others. So obviously they are trying to figure out which of their men she has charmed, and of course chaos ensues because did I mention that they are witches whose family has been forbidden from performing magic.

There's a little bit of everything in this book including but not limited to romance, mystery, talking cats, people being turned into bunnies/toads and magic cupcakes. I think that the cupcakes were my favourite bit - their magic would vary depending on the mood of the baker Trudy. They might makes some one fall in love or fall asleep. The plot is resolved, but the author set it up for the possibility of a sequel/series. I think the characters were interesting especially their grumpy old aunt Esme.

This was fun and I think I'd probably continue reading more if there were more books in the future because I liked the types of magic in this universe.

Solid 4 stars ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️.
This book just may cast a spell on you. teehee or is that cackle? Loved all the whimsical little renames (for the witchy people) of popular social media platforms. What a fun, witchy and whimsical read/listen. A perfect little escape. The narrators did a great job telling the story. Brought the characters to life made them feel real.
Loved all the characters and will be interesting to see how the next book will be if there will be a next book.. It just may change the whole scope of this story. I say no more.

Light hearted fun read. I did listen to the audio of this story, which is about three cousins whose family are banned from practicing witchcraft. Although crazy circumstances occur and slowly they start to realize they do have some powers. Afraid of being caught by the Watchers and the local authorities, the antics that developed will have you laughing.
Thank you NetGalley for this ARC. I am voluntarily posting an honest review after reading an Advance Reader Copy of this story. #NetGalley #ALettertoThreeWitches #DreamscapeMedia
