I fell like I always start my reviews of Danielle Steel books the same way, How can she always manage to top the other books that I thought were her best? I love Danielle Steel books and have been reading them for years. I am always amazed at how well these books are written, but I guess when you have the talent for writing the most read books, it comes naturally to you!

Theodora Morgan is a well known fashion icon with her website and pop-ups around the world. Her husband is a very well off and well known person around Paris. Their son, Axel, is thirteen and full of energy. Their life all comes to a screeching halt when Theo's husband and son are kidnapped and a ransom is sent. At the time, the police on the case are not sure of who they are dealing with and advise Theo to only give half of the ransom money so they can possibly catch them. Well, the captors are not happy with that and end up killing Theo's husband and son. Her whole life comes crashing down around her.

Theo sort of goes into hiding to deal with the loss of her husband and son for a year. She has not been to any social engagements and just stays at home with her body guards. When Theo is doing a pop-up in New York, she decides to go there and help with the set-up. Maybe it is time for her to venture out again. On her way to New York on the plane, an old acquaintance of her husband's introduces himself again but Theo is not interested in making conversation. When Theo sits back and thinks about it, she remembers that her husband is not fond of the guy anyway so she is not going to waste her time on him. When this said guy throws up red flags to the security that processes people into the US, Mike Andrews is on top of it. He puts extra security on Theo to make sure nothing crazy happens after the whole ordeal with her husband and son.

When Mike's detail that he has on Theo for the opening night of the pop-up in New York can't get in, he decides to go himself to make sure things are ok. Mike meets Theo and immediately falls for her. He knows that she has to still be dealing with the loss of her husband and son so he treads lightly with her, Theo doesn't know why, but when she meets Mike, he makes her want to be around him when she has not wanted to be around anyone for a year. Mike and Theo have an easy relationship, it just works for them and they click.

Theo and Mike have their fair share of scary situations to go through and they come to rely on each other to get through these. I fell in love with both of them and enjoyed the ride with them that Danielle Steel took us on. I was sad when their story ended. I highly recommend this book if you are looking for a great read!

Another great book by Steel. The story was a bit slow to start, but once it got going it was hard to put down. the characters were fun to get to know, and each had a unique story. Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for this ARC copy.

Theo has had a life she never imagined. After a tragic event in her life, she never thought she could go on. She had no vision of anything good happening to her and then Mike steps into her life.
This is another fabulous Danielle Steel book. She has filled it with heartbreak, suspense, love, and everything else that could possibly be in a book.
I was hooked from the first page until the very end. Thank you Danielle Steel for this book.

So many things about this book that I loved, plus such an easy read. Mystery, lies, secrets and true love. Loved how Mike was just what Theo needed-she just didnt know it, He started out just trying to protect her and feel head over heels in love with her.
Theo was a widow in mourning who finally decides maybe its time to start living again, Mike comes into her life just wanting to give her a little justice but is instantly smitten when he meets her, they immediately hit if off even though she lives in Paris and he is in New York.

Such a feel good love story about 2 people who know that when true love comes along you have to take the chance. Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher, will be reviewing on Netgalley, Amazon, goodreads and Barnes and Noble when book is published on 8/28/22.

I love a suspenseful love story. Danielle Steel has stepped out of her ordinary writing and give us a read to keep us turning the pages until the end. Theo husband and son were kidnapped for 100 million. But when the kidnappers only received half the hubby and son were killed and buried near the chateau. Now the kidnappers are after Theo for the other 50 million. I stayed up all nite to see what happens to everyone. Excellent story from beginning to end. Keep them comming.

A very enjoyable read full of suspense, romance, and strong likable characters. Danielle Steel is on point.

Darker fare than usual when a woman who is mourning the loss of her husband and child in a kidnapping meets a federal FBI agent who is looking into the underlying case regarding the kidnapping.

I love anything that Danielle Steel writes. The two main characters are Theo and Mike. Theo is the president of her clothing company, the president of her husband’s clothing company and she is a widow. Mike is with the CIA. Theo husband and son was kidnapped in France where they lived an held for a ransom, Theo paid half of it and was waiting for instructions when they killed her husband and son a little over a year ago when she meets Mike. She meets Mike in New York. There is a mutual attraction. There are some problems from being poisoned, kidnapped, shot at, and being in ICU. Together they fall in love.

When you read the opening chapters you have no idea who will be the good guys or the bad guys. As the chapters go on, people are mentioned and then dropped out only to come back in later. Then further in the book the story comes together and has a very traumatic end. I recommend this book!

This is one of the author's best books. This is a fast paced, authentic heartfelt story of a women who lost her family to kidnapping and the agent who crosses her path and eventually saves her life, leads her out of grief and gives her love again. Its heartwarming, fast paced and a exciting read .I highly recommend this book for fans of the author.

This was a 'wishlist' arc granted by the publisher. Classic Danielle Steel with updates; this time the feisty woman is a CIA agent. Haven't read DS in a long time, but this enjoyable story brought me back on board.

I was so excited o see another Danielle Steel novel coming out, and my excitement has been rewarded. This book does not disappoint. Theodora has been dealt a heartbreaking blow in her personal life, losing not only her husband but also her child. However, it does not end there. Theodora remains in danger and because of this, lives her life in Paris pretty much in seclusion. Alas, along comes CIA Senior Agent Mike who worries not only for her emotional loss but for her very security. What happens next makes for an interesting and action packed, suspenseful plot. These are believable characters with authentic problems, tying somewhat back to current events. A thoroughly enjoyable read.

Wow! This was kind of a different style for DS. Like an exciting adventurous thriller blended with a tragedy romance. Quite good! Thanks to the publisher and netgalley for this copy for review

I recently started reading books by this author again, I had read most of everything she wrote years ago and then for some reason I stopped, but I picked up a book of hers about two years ago and I’ve been hooked back in ever since.

Fast easy reads packed with romance, Paris, strong women, I enjoyed this book and I look forward to many others written by her.

Are always in a different world! This book was good - however, things resolved pretty easily.

This is another pleasant read from Danielle Steel who takes a plot line from current news about Russian use of terroristic tactics to intimidate corporations, governments and individuals. This is the story of Theo whose family was destroyed by a kidnapping plot by a Russian enemy. In her fairytale depiction, Theo is rescued by a “knight” who is an American CIA operative who recognizes that her life is still threatened by vengeful Russians.

Of course, predictably, Theo and Mike fall in love. Like all Steel books, it’s a lovely journey for the characters and the reader. Taking place in Paris and New York, it’s also a tour of beautiful places.

This is an enjoyable read that is timely. It’s a good book to pop in your beach bag.

What a wonderful and inspiring read about how through adversity can come true love with the person you are meant to be with. It is fate that brought Theo and Mike together and they proved the phase "through sickness and health". Yes, what Theo went through was a tragedy that I cannot even fathom the level of grief but she moved forward. She saw lightness even during her darkest moments. That is why she and Mike meshed so well together because they chose to savor each moment. They fought for each other.

Suspects is really much the typical Danielle Steel novel. The protagonist is a strong, successful, single woman (widowed or divorced) of great beauty and wealth who unexpectedly gets a second chance at romance. While the basic construct has been used before, the author manages to add a fresh touch with each book.

While I typically love everything Danielle Steel writes, I found this one a little hard to follow. There were so many flashback scenes and not a clear timeline to help the reader along.

I look forward to reading more from this author in the future.
