When Peter and Ainsley fell in love, they thought it would be like that forever. Now years later, Ainsley thinks Peter is secretive and he thinks she is controlling. But there are three children to consider and each still loves the other. They need to figure out how to save this marriage.

It turns out that Peter is hiding much more than Ainsley ever considered. He has been having affairs but when he is done, he kills his mistress and buries her in the woods behind their house. Can Ainsley accept this dark secret? She knows if she doesn't their marriage is over so she finds a way to accommodate.

I listened to this book and the narrators were great. The book is told in alternating chapters between Peter and Ainsley with both a male and female narrator. They slowly reveal all the secrets and the twists and turns of the couple's relationship. Modglin is known for her psychological thrillers and this one does not disappoint. This book is recommended for mystery readers.

Another great read from Kiersten Modglin! She's becoming one of my faves! Her stories always keep me guessing and I love trying to figure out the twists! Must read for thriller lovers.

This sequel to the equally demented The Arrangement, is another dose of crazy from Kiersten Modglin. Peter and Ainsley’s disturbing relationship becomes even more psychotic as their lives slowly begin to unravel. This fast paced thriller is twisted, over the top and utterly entertaining. The narration adds an element of dread and suspense. The final twist was startling and unforeseen. I am anxiously anticipating the next installment of this shocking thrill ride. Thank you NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for my audiobook.

I did not realize that this was a sequel so the beginning may have made more sense if I had, but a few chapters in and I was hooked. Peter’s secrets are so twisted…and his deals with his friend are even more twisted. His wife, Ainsley, seems so naive…how can she not know? And then, once she gets involved…. So thankful that this book is pure fantasy as to think otherwise would surely be horrendous.
I am new to audiobooks but the narrators, George Newbern and Sarah Mollo-Christensen definitely kept me entertained as they shared both Peter’s and Ainsley’s stories. Their inflections were very realistic.
I did enjoy listening to this audiobook, even though it was gruesome at times. I am hoping to enjoy more in the future.
Many thanks to Kiersten Modglin, George Newbern, and Sarah Mollo-Christensen, and NetGalley for affording me the opportunity to hear this twisted tale!

I reviewed this together with the last book on my phillybookfairy
bookstagram page:
First came #TheArrangement
then came
#TheAmendment
then came
#TheAtonement
this was a trilogy that I didnt know would be a trilogy by the amazing @kierstenmodglinauthor !!! When I listened to the first one few years back I had thought it was going to be just a story about an open marriage gone wrong.
Oh boy, did things go wrong. And the things this woman found out about her husband are things that would (you'd think) make a wife run farrr farrrrr away. But then comes #TheAmendment and things go even more sideways than Id ever have thought. I mean, what's better than an unreliable narrator? You might've guessed already if you've read these: TWO unreliable narrators. Not because they are drunks or got hit on the head (or did they?) but because they both seem more than a little insane. Yet mostly you see this because you are watching the he said- she said and drawing conclusions, otherwise; you might believe each POV if read soley on their own! In the Atonement, which is a hell of a title for what happens, its never more hazy to me of who is the truly delusional one. I'm still left feeling uneasy after the conclusion. It would be an excellent exercise to read one POV all the way through (husband) then read wife's all the way thru all three books and then compare again!!! For me, with just the audiobooks and no time to do a full-length study like this; impossible, but very very tempting!
This trilogy goes places. It makes you second guess the truth. It will shock you. And just sayinnnnng, the #audiobook of these are amaaaazing!!!!
Many many thanks to @dreamscape_media for allowing early audio listening of these via @Netgalley. These POVs really elevate the story and the punch of it. Definitely recommend & am looking forward to reading more from this author in the future!!

2nd Kiersten Modglin book read in 3 days and let me tell you I felt even more messed up than I did on the first book. Just when you think a couple could not possibly get any crazier YOU’RE WRONG.
Ainsley and Peter have a very interesting relationship to say the least and it just continues to get crazier as the book goes on. Thank you NetGalley for allowing me to listen to The Amendment by Kiersten Modglin in exchange for my honest feedback.

This book picks up where book one left off so I do recommend reading the series in order. I wasn’t expecting it to go the way it did and was kind of surprised by some of Ainsley’s choices. I was completely blown away by how things ended with her and Peter in this book.

I listened to the audiobook and thought narrators George Newbern and Sarah Mollo-Christensen were perfect as Peter and Ainsley. They really brought these characters to life.

Thank you Dreamscape Media and NetGalley for an advanced listener’s copy in exchange for my honest review.

I am such a fan of this author. I absolutely loved the first book in this series, the arrangement and was super excited for this one. I didn’t like this one quite as much as the first but it was still really good. I am obsessed with these this toxic couple and would follow them anywhere. This author is the absolute master of thrillers. She shocks me with every book I read and I am a fan for life and will read anything she writes. Thank you so much to netgalley, the author, and the publisher for the copy.

Ainsley and Peter are back in The Amendment and they are back with even more secrets. I liked the bit of the backstory we got. You can understand more why Peter is the way he is. Like the first book you get Ainsley and Peter's POVs.

One thing you can count on is a fast paced crazy ride with this book! I must admit though, I didn't love it. I thought it was good. However, some of the situations Ainsley and Peter find themselves in are just over the top for me. I don't want to spoil anything so I won't go into specifics...but it was a bit much.

With that being said I think KMod does a great job at throwing twists in there! I look forward to book 3. After book 2s ending I have to know how it ends.

Thank you to NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for the audio in exchange for my honest review.

If you have not read the first book in this series, The Arrangement, you should probably stop reading this right now and head over and do that first. I didn’t do that and just read this one and now I’m kicking myself for doing that. At first I didn’t realize this was a second book since I dove in without really reading the synopsis. Now that I realize it, I definitely recommend you go and read that one first so you know what’s going on a bit more. That said, this review could contain spoilers for that first book since this is the second one. Please consider that first book before proceeding here!
Peter and Ainsley have some secrets. Now they have been exposed after a tragic turn and they now know the truth about each other and their marriage. As they are trying to deal with everything that has happened they also learn that someone else they love is hiding an absolute life shattering secret. Their family is being torn apart, the little ground they stand on is crumbling, and a threat from the past is lurking in the shadows ready to share with the world things they would kill to keep hidden.
They thought the nightmare was over but it seems it’s just beginning, just in a different way.
Now, they need to trust each other in order to survive but they tried that before and things went incredibly wrong. This time, it just might be a little worse.
I’m not going to go into the finer details of the story because it would absolutely ruin that first book and possibly this one. However, I can tell you that this book is so much… fun? It keeps you turning the pages at rapid speed because you just want to know where it’s going, how it’s going to get there, and what the heck has happened!
This is a book I definitely recommend to fans of thrillers with a killer twist.

This was my favourite Modglin yet! The Amendment keeps readers on the edge of their seats, and has a killer *wink* ending! A clear 5 stars.

I was in love with The Agreement and just had to listen to this one too. It helps that George Newbern, one of my favorite narrators, narrates with Sarah Mollo-Christensen and they do a fabulous job, but they do have great material to work with..

While I am not married, I do believe the couple acts in an over the top way, but man is it fun to be in on their antics. I know I just called murdering people antics, but they just make it not seem wrong. Almost like it is grocery shopping to the rest of us.

They are evil people that are a functioning part of society. The second in the series, and I do wish for more, has the couple more psychotic than in the first installment. I don’t want to say anymore and spoil any of the wild ride. But just make sure you read book one before starting this one as this will definitely spoil book one for you.

They are short, entertaining and will keep you on your toes for the entire read. Definitely add these to your TBR.

While I did not read The Arrangement, when I had the opportunity to listen to The Amendment on audiobook I went for because the story sounded so intriguing. This audiobook was excellent! The story did not disappoint, I didn’t feel like I missed anything by starting the series with this book, and the narrators were absolutely fabulous! Highly recommend. I thank Netgalley for the opportunity to read and review this audiobook.

Wow! 5 star for me! You think you now the ending from the start of book .....Not this one!! I couldn't put it down! New favorite author, Kiersten Modglin!

The Amendment is the second book in Kiersten Modglin's Arrangement series (NOTE: It's IMPERATIVE that you read The Arrangement first, or The Amendment will not make sense, and #spoilers). Without giving too much away, the plot centers on Peter and Ainsley and their marital issues, but with a brand new, surprising twist. I enjoyed the narration of the audiobook, and switching between Peter's and Ainsley's points of view.

I love Kiersten Modglin! She never fails to deliver! The Arrangement, and now the Amendment have been absolute guilty pleasures for me. I literally devoured this audiobook in one shot. Over the top, jaw dropping twists make this book so much fun! Ainsley and Peter have become one of my favorite couples to hate. It was fun because there were moments when they were relatable.

I just had a blast reading these two books. They were quick reads. 4.5 stars. The audio was perfect.

Ahhh our favorite couple is BACK!! What have Peter and Ainsley been up to? What happens after that doozie of an ending in The Arrangement? Well, obvi I’m not going to tell you, but what I will say is Modglin does not disappoint in The Amendment, which is the follow up to the original and while there were not as many jaw dropping moments as in the first book, this was still an amazing read for me and she still gave us an ending that made you go WHAAAT!?!? I yet again flew through this audiobook as I had to know what this duo was getting into and how it was going to end, and you will not be disappointed.

I was late to the KMod game and with The Amendment I am fully admitting the error of my ways, and really need you to do the same if you have not read her as of yet. Start with The Arrangement and then go ahead and get yourself The Amendment, because let’s be honest, you aren’t going to want to stop reading when you’re done with the first one. If you think I’m wrong on this, that’s ok, I’ll wait….

Thank you to NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for the ALC to review.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💫

This was a great follow up to THE ARRANGEMENT. It’s another fast-paced, shocking thriller and I actually liked this one even better.

It’s about Ainsley and Peter picking up the pieces of their lives after everything that went down in the first book….

Ainsley got on my nerves so much with her nagging and whining, but that just added to the story because it made me more conflicted on who I was pulling for. 😂

And the ending is a jaw-dropper that slams open the door leading to book 3!

This one is so entertaining on audio! 🎧The narrators are excellent! @sarahmollo @georgenewbern

Quick and FAR from easy! Such a fun follow up to The Arrangement! This wasn't as heart-pounding as you'd want or suspect from a thriller, but it definitely kept you guessing as to how Ainsley and Peter were going to get out of the mess they created. Just when you think they reached the end, there's one more twist that keeps everything moving. Such a fun quick read!

First off, this one and The Arrangement are some short books. I think I would have given these five stars if they were put together into a long book. And normally I like short books! But I think these were like novella status.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
With that, I still really enjoyed the story and the drama between husband and wife and all the secrets they kept from each other. Was it a bit far fetched? Maaaaaybe? But it was a fun thriller to read and wasn’t too dark. A lighthearted thriller?
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
First part is a bit slow, and just like the first one, this ends in a cliffhanger. So depending on how many are in this series, I would possibly read them all together.
