They're backkkk! Y'all, Peter and Ainsley are back and they're more dysfunctional than ever. But this time they're willing to try marriage counseling. And the good Lawd knows they need it! They're one dark, twisted, thrilling couple, and I'M HERE FOR IT!

Do yourself a favor and read The Arrangement before picking this up. And if you've already read it, then do yourself a favor and read this one ASAP. I decided to ignore my "adult responsibilities" and devoured it in a few hours.

The first book in this series, The Arrangement, left me saying "WOW!"
This sequel left me saying "What the F?!"
And honestly, I cannot wait to see where Kiersten Modglin will take us with her next installment in the series.

Name of Book: The Amendment
Author: Kiersten Modglin
Genre: Psychological Domestic Thriller
Pub Date: February 1, 2022
My Rating: 3.4

This is my fifth novel by Kiersten Modglin, she became my fav author in June 2021 when I read "Just Married"!. Now I am “What’s next?” I am a big fan!

This is second in the Arrangement series. I did not read Book #1 (my bad) but I checked the reviews and read a few spoilers. (In cases like this, I like when a review includes a spoiler!).
Additionally the first part of this story talks about ‘the arrangement’, so I felt informed.
However, I have to admit if this were my first KM novel I may have given up early. However, knowing this author, I knew there would be twist and turns.

Story is told from the POV of both Peter and Ainsley our “The Arrangement” couple.
Ainsley describes her husband Peter as a monster, and then tells us that she is also a monster.
There is no doubt they are doing monasteries things!
There are times this couple seems like any couple with three children living in suburbia.

As we know Peter has a terrible hobby, something he learned from his college roommate Jim.
So when their oldest son turns fifteen and has his first girlfriend; Peter is someone worried that his son might have inherited his hobby. Then decided no it was a hobby he learned so not something that he might pass on.

Although Kiersten Modglin is always full of surprises, with her twisted imagination and never disappoints I knew she would come up with something at the end.
I have to admit of the five I have read, this is my least favorite.

Will I read another one of her books? ~ You betcha!!

The narrators for this audiobook ~ George Newbern and Sarah Mollo-Christensen both did a great job in perform the characters especially the main characters Peter and Ainsley.

Want to thank NetGalley and Dreamscape Media ~ for this audio eGalley. This file has been made available to me before publication in an early form for an honest professional review.
Publishing Release Date scheduled for February 1, 2022.

Amazing Book! Kiersten Modglin is the queen of mind blowing twist and turns. When you think you have the book figured out BAM she has literally threw a twist in there to throw you off track! She has became one of my favorite authors. If you haven’t read anything from her! Get on it! I promise you will not be disappointed!

I have no words, and yet I have so many words for this amazing book!! After reading The Arrangement recently and finding out there'd be a sequel, I absolutely had to read it. Kiersten's book are jaw-droppingly great! This entire book was no different. I really thought I knew what was happening several times, only to find out I was wrong and there was a new, crazy twist! I cannot wait for Kiersten's next books to come out, I recommend her to all my bookish friends!

This was the book I never knew I needed, but have always wanted. After finishing The Arrangement and loving the ending, I didn’t know how I would feel about a sequel, but I am so glad Kiersten Modglin brought Ainsley and Peter back in to my life. I kind of hope she keeps on writing their story. This dysfunctional duo has my heart.

Thank you to NetGalley for the ALC in exchange for my honest review.

Kiersten Modglin is back with a sequel to The Arrangement and I couldn't be more excited! The Amendment picks up with Peter and Ainsley working on their marriage issues. You might think that things would be smooth sailing for the couple now, but think again! There are more secrets to learn and more twists to be had! I thoroughly enjoyed this audiobook, and the ending - well it wouldn't be a Kiersten Modglin book without a kick-butt ending! Highly recommend!

Thank you NetGalley, Dreamscape Media and Kiersten Modglin for an ARC audiobook of this fantastic sequel.

Another great book from this Author. This is the Audio version.
A fascinating domestic thriller with loads of twists and turns that kept this story moving.
Edge of your seat read until the very end.
The narrator spoke the characters wonderfully.
Can't wait to sink my brain around more of this Author's works.
Thank you to Netgalley, and the Author, Kiersten Modglin for this audio book in exchange for an honest review.

Book two in The Arrangement series.

Ainsley and Peter are back and coming to grips with the events that took place in the last book. But someone knows Peter's secret.

So...... While I enjoyed this book, I kind of wish it didn't exist. I like the idea of leaving everything up in the air after The Arrangement. This book didn't necessarily wrap much up- it just introduced new complications. Unnecessary ones.

I listened to the audiobook. George Newbern & Sarah Mollo-Christensen are back again for this (they also narrated The Arrangement). Same great quality as the first book.

I received an audio copy in exchange for an honest review.

Well well well...the drama continues. We're back with the dynamic duo of George Newbern & Sarah Mollo-Christensen for the audio narration which is a thrill because they are excellent at what they do.

The Amendment brings us right to where The Arrangement ended, which was a pretty crazy place. Some serious deception came to light for Ainsley and Peter and they are left to pick up the pieces. As a concept, I think it's really fun that the readers get a chance to see what happens next. Some secrets from their past come to the surface that could threaten everything they worked so hard to protect after the chaos of book 1. The ultimate question is will they be able to get through it together?!

Ok so here is the truth about these books - you *really* have to suspend belief to buy in. There is so much that happens that is just explained away (and when I mean so much that happens I mean MURDER) and everyone just isn't suspicious or prodding further you know? Which is fine and I like it but it is just rather unlikely so that is my warning for you going in. This has really strong You vibes and I mean the show on Netflix not the book because I have not read that (I know they are the same though). Domestic drama, murder, suspicious people, the works.

Overall, definitely enjoyed and this is a QUICK read. It's basically an afternoon snack so if you are in the mood for something fun and thrilling pick up The Amendment.

Thanks to Netgalley and Dreamscape Media for the ARC in exchange for my honest thoughts. The Amendment will be out 2/1/22!

In one sentence: After the "arrangement" between Peter and Ainsley took them on a wild ride, a new "amendment" means even more trouble to come.
NOTE: Do not listen to this book if you haven't read The Arrangement. You will be able to figure things out, but you'll also miss one of my fave twist endings. So read the first book first :)

I was so excited to see this sequel to the book that helped me discover Modglin. I 100% recommend the audio here - George Newbern & Sarah Mollo-Christensen are perfectly cast as this dysfunctional couple with waaaaay too many secrets. Things get even twistier the second time around - and the ending made me say WTF...and listen back to the last chapter to make sure I heard it all correctly. Plus it's only 5 1/2 hours on audio - short and oh so sweet!

Thank you to Dreamscape Media for providing an ALC in exchange for an honest review.

I have no idea what to say except Wow! Just wow! KMod never disappoints. She has a way of making you think one thing and then, just when you’ve settled for it, pleasantly surprising you that the ride is not over. And the narrators! Perfection. I recognized George Newbern’s voice from ‘Scandal’ and if they ever make a tv show or movie of The Arrangement/ Amendment, he needs to be Peter. Nailed it.

I want to write more but am scared I would spoil it, so instead I’m just going say that if you like fast thrillers, with a note of suspense, and couples that keep trying to “protect” the other while really just adding to the chase, “The Amendment” is your book.

If you liked The Arrangement you’ll definitely want to pick up The Amendment!
Last year I listened to my first Kiersten Modglin book, The Arrangement, and I was instantly hooked on her books! I quickly listened to every possible Modglin audiobook available through my local library! The Amendment picks up right where we left off. It took different twists and turns. I wasn’t sure where the ending was going but just like The Arrangement I didn’t see this one coming! I love the audio version and would definitely recommend to any audiobook lover. Do yourself a favor and binge read these books together!
Thank you to Netgalley and Dreamscape for my advanced listening copy!

This series is an edge of your seat, don’t get comfortable, you never know which way it’ll turn, wild ride. I devoured both audiobooks in a day each and highly recommend as the dual narration is fantastic. But please read in order - the Arrangement and then the Amendment- so no secrets are spoiled!

The Amendment was a really well executed sequel, picking up on the chaos from the Arrangement perfectly. Peter and Ainsley’s secrets have been revealed to each other, so as the reader, you’re thinking what now? How do you move forward from this? But not only are they working through those “issues” but new ones seem to be arising daily. Like I said, don’t get comfortable!

Both books are under 6 hours on audio and a roller coaster for your nerves. I felt like due to the shorter nature of the books, some of the story lines didn’t feel finished and there were some holes in the logic of Peter and Ainsley’s actions, but I also think that added to the entertainment and uncertainty. You think things can’t possibly get more out of control, but then, twist!

I would recommended The Amendment if you’re looking for an entertaining, twisty thriller.

Thank you NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for the advance audiobook!

Kept me on my toes!

I loved this book ! The first one was good it had a crazy ending but so does this one ! I recommend it to everyone! The only reason why I’m giving it 4 stars is because I wanted it longer.

The Amendment is book 2 in the Arrangement series. I gave The Arrangement 5 stars for all it's many surprises. I wondered where the continuation of the story could possibly go.
Well go it did. I can't say there were as many surprises in this one, but maybe my ability to be shocked was just worn out from the first book.
In this installment of Ainsley and Peter's story the drama continues. Ainsley is certain that Peter is once again keeping secrets from her despite their agreement that there would be no more secrets. They once again return to couples therapy in order to restore trust and save their marriage.
I listened to the audio version of this one and appreciated the two different narrators. It made the story easier to follow with one male and one female speaker. It's a shorter listen at 5 hours.
You absolutely must read these books in order!
I am once again wondering where this story could possibly go in the next installment. I am assuming there will be by the way The Amendment ended. (At least I hope there will be.)

Many thanks to netgalley and Dreamscape Media for the arc

Ainsley and Peter are the ultimate power couple with an internal power struggles that dooms them from the start. There crazy schemes and partnership is really unique and interesting to watch unfold. I read this book first rather than starting with #1 in the series., and I was still able to follow it without issues. I thought that the idea behind the story was very unique. I finished in one day, and it never lost my attention. I loved the alternating narrators because it really made the characters stand out, and it made the story easier to follow. I also really enjoyed the ending, and it left a great opener for book #3. I can’t wait to continue this series and to go back and read book #1!

Ainsley and Peter are back and just as crazy as ever. The Amendment is a follow up in which we revisit the love birds we met in The Arrangement, a crazy dark tale about a super twisted couple who will go to great lengths to save their crumbling marriage. Despite their best efforts their marriage is once again in trouble and they've decided to start counseling, focus on the kids, and maybe even take up interest in each other's hobbies in order to keep the spark alive. In book one the twists and turns kept coming until the very last word. Much like it's prequel, this book was also full of surprises and twists but in a much more repetitive way. Overall it had a rushed feel and was a bit all over the place.
Dark. Twisted. Fast paced. Over the top. If you're looking for a book with all of these elements, look no further! I definitely see the draw for these types of books but sadly it is just not my cup of tea.
Quick read and excellent narrators!
Thank you to Dreamscape Media and NetGalley for an advanced audiobook in exchange for my honest review. 3 stars.

Kiersten Modglin has done it again with an equally shocking, devious and delicious sequel to The Arrangement! I am so impressed with this sequel which more than lives up to the hype and twisty drama of its predecessor — in fact, if you ask me, this installment is even better and MORE shocking!

First of all, if you haven’t read the Arrangement, don’t read this one first because it will spoil the most evil and fun twist at the end of first book. And BTW if you haven’t read The Arrangement, and you’re a thriller fan, you’re missing out in an extremely well-executed, twisty, twisted thrill ride — so go get it ASAP.

How can I discuss this book without giving away the shocking ending of the first one. Hmmm. Well, Ainsley and Peter are a married couple who have the usual married couple problems. In the last book, they tried to return some passion and excitement to their marriage by agreeing to see other people. This “Arrangement” restored their fire, but also came with complications, including but not limited to murder.

In this book, Ainsley and Peter attempt to address their continuing marital problems with the help of a couple’s therapist. Ainsley is still worried about Peter’s lies and the residual trust issues. Peter seems to be developing some extramarital issues again. And as all this is going on, a brand new plot reveals itself, with a twist just as shocking as the first book.

Sorry I can’t say more… you will have to read for yourself, but the twists and the ending are fantastic and totally in line with, and true to, the first book. It’s rare that an author with a book this hyped and twisty is able to follow up with a second success that is just as fun and shocking and true to the first, but Modglin has done it. In fact, I like this second book and its twist better than the first. This is a testament to the fun, likable and unlikeable characters Modglin has created as well as her well-executed plotting and hairpin twists.

The same narrators return for the second audiobook and both do a great interpretation of Peter and Ainsley. I truly enjoyed this book and would absolutely love to hear a third installment.

The Arrangement got a solid four-plus star rating from me, primarily because there was an extra twist I didn’t like as well, but this one gets five! Perfect amount of twists and devious fun. Can’t wait for the next book in what I truly hope is a series! Ainsley and Peter are addicted to love and I am addicted to this writer.

Many thanks to Dreamscape Media, NetGalley, and the author for the great advance listen.
