Fans of Kiersten Modglin’s first book The Arrangement will love The Amendment! I was beyond excited when I saw it was an upcoming release and read it in 2 days.
This is the 2nd book in the authors Arrangement series and while I believe it could be read as a standalone, the reader may find themselves being a little lost, with not knowing the parts in the first book.
Our story centers on Ainsley and Peter, and the two of them trying to settle into some kind of normalcy after Ainsley having learned about his secret double life and committing a crime together in book one. Ainsley is finding it hard to trust Peter, believing he is still hiding things from her and lying.
Things get further complicated when a man from Peters past shows up to throw a wrench in his life, and their daughter, 11 year old Maisie, confesses a secret.
This book was a slow build for me that turned into a roller coaster ride that had me wanting more! And the explosive ending I was not expecting!
Thank you so much to Netgalley for the ARC copy of this in exchange for an honest review.

Wow what a sequel! This one was just as good as the first one. The characters are shocking and the twists keep coming. I really enjoyed the audio and would recommend this one for sure. The only problem is you will be cheering for one of the bad guys!

What a roller coaster ride! I did not see the whole story coming at all. At first, I thought the story begin similarly to the show "Prodigal Son"; however, it was nowhere near like it. It is so much better. This begs the question, can love conquered all? I have no words to describe how good this book is. I don't know who is crazier, Peter or Ainsley. He has a condition and she did not, yet they both do the same thing. This is a must-read or rather listen-to book of the year.

The story was narrated by George Newbern & Sarah Mollo-Christensen. Both did a good job delivering the story. The pace at which they read was good. At certain points, Sarah reads the story in Ainsley's voice when she speaks to Peter, there is breathiness to her voice that is annoyig. It seems very unnatural.

Thank you to Dreamscape Media and NetGalley for letting me read this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

You can never go into a Kiersten Modglin book expecting it to be anything less than a wild ride, that's for sure!

This book is a sequel to The Arrangement and you should definitely read that one first because otherwise you'll be lost and the surprises in that one will be spoiled. As with The Arrangement, The Amendment alternates between Ainsley's and Peter's points of view.

Don't read any further if you haven't read The Arrangement, I'll try to avoid too many spoilers for that one, but it's unavoidable.

After Ainsley finds out Peter's secret, she insists that there can be nothing but truth between the two of them if they are going to salvage their marriage. But Peter isn't so good at telling the truth, and secrets continue to pile on top of secrets...until they aren't.

I really can't say more without giving things away, but suffice it to say that I didn't see much of any of this book coming. The first 40% is kind of a slow build up, but after that the twists keep occurring right and left and this reader was left in quite a daze. And just when you think it's all wrapped up...think again.

I'm always up for a KMod book because they are entertaining thrillers. I listened to this one as an audiobook and the dual narrators do an excellent job at voicing their characters. I'm happy to say that in this one the narrators don't overtly lie to the reader, which was one of my problems with the previous installment.

If you're looking for a surprisingly twisty thriller then look no further.

I just recently finished The Arrangement so I was thrilled to be able to listen to the audiobook. It starts off where Ainsley and Peter left off in last book. Ainsley tells Peter no more lies and no more secrets. Ainsley knows all the skeletons in Peter's past and just wants them to work together as a team.

Silly Peter tries to hide things from Ainsley. That worked so well last time I'm surprised he can be so stupid. Things start to fall apart so now they decide to go to couples counseling. Will they be able to work it all out? Both Ainsley and Peter are horrible people so not sure which one is worse.

Ainsley has a plan to fix the situation and get back on track. Loved the ending!

Somehow I managed to read The Amendment without realizing it was a sequel, which I typically don't like to do. There were references to "the previous time" which reading the first book would have given me more understanding, but I still felt like I was able to jump in and get a good feel for these characters and the wild turn of events that brought a seemingly boring suburban couple to commit murder together.
Perfect for fans of Dexter, or Samantha Downing's My Lovely Wife The Amendment follows Pete and Ainsley as they attempt to save their marriage with radical honesty and homicide.
Ainsley has known Pete's dark secret for a while and finally busts him on it, but to his surprise, she doesn't leave him or turn him into the authorities. She wants to join in.
Things obviously get messy as their new joint hobby exposes all the underlying faults in their marriage and they attempt to work together to eliminate a few problems in their life. The trouble is when you're a serial killer problems can accumulate rather quickly.
I thought the narrators did a great job voicing these characters and moving the story along at an engaging pace that made me not want to stop. I found Peter's voice to be somewhat grating but found it appropriate for his somewhat disturbed character.
Many thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for the advance copy.

Have you read The Arrangement? If not, go purchase it now!
The Amendment is is book 2 in a series. We catch up with Peter and Ainsley as they plan to see a marriage counselor. As you read (listen) on we learn a bit about their every day problems as well as some dark secrets that threaten to upend the arrangement - and agreement of total honesty between the couple.

Kiersten Modglin ups the tension by sprinkling in obstacles and problems left and right. What will Peter and Ainsley do to keep their promises to each other ?

Loved it, but seriously, read the Arrangement first! This book 2 is an amazing sequel that will keep you guessing in true Modglin fashion. The voices are absolutely perfect and you will want to listen to the entire story in one sitting. If you love domesic thrillers, then what are you waiting for? What a wild ride. Kiersten Modglin has a way to write a twisty thriller that is hard to put down. While I think the first book, The Arrangement had a bit more twists and turns, I enjoyed The Amendment just as much. In the first half, we were able to explore the main characters thoughts and backstories more in the sequel. Then the second half we are riveted to the spot wondering where the story will go. The audiobook was well narrated, I thoroughly enjoyed the dual narration for the alternating point of views. Once I started listening, I didn't stop until the end. Can't wait to see what else Kiersten Modglin releases in the future.

This book follows Peter and Ansley on their continued journey in their struggling marriage and their secrets. Much like the first book, the second is also full of twist and turns in their marriage and their arrangements. Peter has no idea why Ansley is still with him after learning the truth and Ansley is struggling with wanting to join in with Peter in his part of the arrangement. Not only are they struggling to work as a team, they also have to learn what to do once they realize their 11 year old daughter’s dance coach is rumored to have sexual relationships with his dance students.
This book has several twists and turns but not as many as the first book. I was taking notes in my head throughout the book for this review and wanted to wait until I was done with the book to write my review. I think the end fell a little short on this one and didn’t leave me on the edge of my seat. It was a good ending to keep the series going but not too shocking for me.

What an amazing sequel. Sometimes the characters really irked me like I couldn’t understand why on earth Ansley stayed with him instead of just turning him in or divorcing him but the audio narrators were amazing and I was never bored. I don’t think I’d need a third book in the series but you never know. I really liked the cover and the twist at the end was superb.

Kiersten Modglin does it again! In The Amendment, we continue to follow Ainsley and Peter as they continue to work at the trust issues in their marriage. We don’t get quite as many shocking twists in book 2 and most is toward the end. However, by the end I was loving this book also. I didn’t even realize there was going to be a second book after reading The Arrangement so this was an awesome surprise!

One of my most anticipated books of 2022- the sequel to The Arrangement. I was so obsessed with the Arrangement, I could not stop talking about it. The Arrangement was a textbook popcorn thriller, hard to put down and only somewhat believable. It had twists and turns that had me picking my jaw from the floor.
Unfortunately, The Amendment did not share this same magic. It seemed to go way past the point of realistic.

As far as the audio book, it was read by the same narrators as The Arrangement and was as well done as the first one. These narrators really brought this story to life- especially the male narrator.

I wanted to love this one, but it missed the mark for me.

Audiobook review for The Amendment by Kiersten Modglin. I am a new reader of this author, I read the first book in this series, The Arragement, recently based on bookstagram posts and appreciated the chance to get back into these themes and characters, and this author's voice, with this audiobook. Thank you Dreamscape and NetGalley for this copy! For fans of this author, or newer readers of this author (like me!), this is a great twisty read, similar to previous work and a strong follow up to The Arrangement. I will add that the voice narration was great, it matched how I wanted to hear this story if that makes sense, the narration and pacing/tone was well done and added to my appreciation for this plot.

I love themes about secrets and relationships and how secrets, and the secret keepers, hurt each other, and themselves. This book builds on that premise and adds in the idea that once secrets and harmful behaviors are present, it seems that it becomes easy to uncover other secrets and risks... and then trust becomes at play which is a nice way to build upon the first book. When you will do anything to try to save a relationship and then must really come face to face with trust and what it means to a relationship and survival. Well done! I enjoyed the development of these themes and the characters.

When I first heard there was going to be a follow-up to The Arrangement, I tried to think of what Kiersten Modglin could do to continue on with the story. Never did I imagine it would turn out like this. What a crazy ride! I had no idea what was going to happen next, and it was equal parts thrilling and anxiety-inducing. The door has been left open for maybe another one. Can’t wait to find out!

The Amendment
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I just recently read (and loved) The Arrangement, so when I saw she was publishing a second book in the series I was so excited. AND - it did not disappoint!! This series is so dark and beautifully-twisted… if you need me, I’ll just be patiently waiting for a third installment.

I have to be honest, I didn't read the first book. However I don't think it's mandatory to. You get a pretty good idea about what is going on within the first three chapters. Now for my review., I felt like the premise has been done a lot. Think The perfect Wife By Samantha Downing. But with more sex. It was a fun ride. But I don't think it was for me.

Loved this book! Both the 1st and 2nd did not disappoint. I missed the characters and fell right. Back into the story. So good! Thank you NetGalley!

Seriously. How does she do it??
After reading the first part of the tale of Ainsley and Peter in The Arrangement, I was hooked and dying for more but at the same time not sure anything could really be as good as the first part of their story. When I saw that the author came out with a sequel, The Amendment, I jumped on the chance to listen early and finished it in one day!Note- It’s a shorter listen/ only 5.5 hours
This IS as good as the first story everyone! I’m shouting it from the rooftops! Although we knew the secrets of Peter and Ainsley from the first book, there are a few new twists to this one! It was weird, but I was actually rooting for the characters, which I’m sure we aren’t supposed to be considering they aren’t great humans!
Kierstens writing has you longing for more and after The Amendment, I’m wondering if there will be a third book!
Narrated by Sarah Mollo-Christensen and a favorite of mine, George Newbern, they did a fabulous job as Ainsley and Peter. The story comes to life and I almost forget it’s a work of fiction!
Definitely grab this to listen or read 2/1/22

So when I read the arrangement i was hooked on this author right away. I have read a bunch of books by this author since and i just find her writing to be addicting and kind of a guilty pleasure(except i don’t feel guilty about it). When i seen there was going to be a part 2 to the story i was excited but hesitant. Nothing will top the arrangement in my opinion because that book was just insane(in a good way). This book came close. I don’t know how she did it but she made me love these characters so much more. Even though I’m sure I’m not suppose to like them but that’s okay. I highly recommend this book if you loved the arrangement and just want more from these two!

Thank you NetGalley for an ARC of the audio, All opinions are my own.

Welcome back to another quick, crazy read from Kiersten Modglin. Similar to the first book in the series, I blew through this one in a couple of hours while doing chores. It made the time fly by! I enjoy this narrator, and her production really enhanced the story for me.

I loved The Arrangement, and was thrown by all of the twists. This time, though, I knew more of what to expect so I was a little less blown away. Once I knew how Ainsley and Peter worked, it was easy to see where the storyline was headed. Nevertheless, it was an entertaining follow-up to the first book.

It was definitely interesting to see how Ainsley and Peter tried to salvage their marriage after the events of the first book, and if the author were to write a third I would certainly be interested in listening again. These books are so quick that you really can’t go wrong!
