I loved this suspenseful book filled with romance and intrigue. The characters are intelligent, strong and devoted to each other. There's plenty of room for growth with more books and I eagerly await them.

Resurrection by Katie Reuss
Redemption Harbor #1

Action-packed romantic suspense that sets up a new-to-me series by an author I love to read!

What I liked:
* Skye: strong, capable, lethal, ex-CIA agent, faked her death to keep the man she loves safe
* Colt: CIA operative, strong, intelligent, lethal, strong, protects those he cares for, loves Skye
* Mary Grace: physician, kidnapped by a cartel, friend of Colt’s, married to Mercer, a good woman who loves her husband, Mercer
* Mercer: another friend, retired professional football player, businessman, pizza maker extraordinaire
* The childhood friends of Colt’s that will become the nucleus of a team and no doubt each have books of their own in the series – admirable and intriguing!
* The bond between Skye and Colt
* Colt’s father…wonder if he will end up in the future stories and might have a book of his own
* The way the cartel was handled and who came out on top
* The way the blackmailer was dealt with…definite twist there
* Knowing that there are more books in the series

What I didn’t like:
* Exactly who and what I was meant not to like – Rafael, Gianni, and knowing that others like them exist in the world

Did I enjoy this book? Yes
Would I read more in this series? Yes

Thank you to NetGalley and the author for the ARC – This is my honest review.

This is the intro and prequel to the Redemption Harbor series and the characters. But this book is about Mary Grace, Colt and Skye and it is seriously a tear jerker and you will root for these guys.

I loved reading this from the beginning to the end and cannot wait to read it again.

I received this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Colt is super focused and intense, Skye does her own thing with no excuses, and together they are unstoppable.

Skye, a very proficient CIA agent, left the Agency and faked her own death to protect the love of her life and his friends. Colt is still struggling with Skye’s death months after it had happened. He gets the shock of his life when it turns out the woman who rescued his good friend from a Mexican drug cartel is none other than Skye.

Katie Reus is fast becoming one of my favorite romantic suspense writers. It started with Silent Protector and I was very excited to read Resurrection. And it’s part of a series, so even better. I really enjoyed the diverse cast of characters, Skye and Colt’s complete dedication to each other and their jobs, the fast-paced action, and the intriguing plot. It wasn’t a stay-up-all-night read for me, it was more a ignore-my-family-during-the-day read. I couldn’t put it down. If you like romantic suspense, you can’t go wrong with this book.

Thank you to Netgalley for providing me with a copy. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Ooh. Yes. I love a romantic suspense, and Katie Reus sure knows how to write them, all while keeping the reader captivated throughout. Book 1 in the Redemption Harbor series introduces us to a group of lifelong friends, all from a similar background, and all willing to do anything to protect those they love. Resurrection sees Colt Stuart mourning the death of his one true love, Skye Arévalo, only to find out during a rescue mission that she’s alive and well, and possibly still in love with him. Why then, oh why, did she fake her own death? That is the question, and that is the basis for the rest of the story. Bring down the bad guys, and see if they can salvage what is left of their relationship. Lots of action, drama and good loving in this addictive romantic suspense. Fab characters, wonderful writing and a great story. Highly enjoyable, I loved it.

Skye is a CIA agent and had to fake her own death to protect her partner and lover, Colt and his friends. Colt has taken off to Mexico to see if one of his best friends is being held hostage by a drug cartel. For three months she was presumed dead but Colt got a tip and went to check it out. But when he arrives she's already been rescued. When he tracks them down he is shocked to find Skye.
Now they are trying to find the man responsible for blackmailing Skye and make sure he is taken down. Plenty of action, sex, and second chances. I loved this story and can't wait for the next book. I know it's short review but I didn't want to give anything away.

CIA agent Skye Arévalo gave up everything and the love of her life Colt Stuart when she faked her death. One of the men she worked with was blackmailing her and threatened to kill Colt Stuart’s closest friends if she did not help him. Now one of these friends, Mary Grace has been killed by the Ramirez cartel. Unknown to anyone, she has been kidnapped to care for their dying drug-lord father. Skye heard through the grapevine that MG is alive and where she is being held. Now Skye is in a race against time to rescue her. Unknown to Skye… Colt, also a CIA agent has heard she same rumor and is on his way to Mexico to break her out as well.
Skye’s ‘resurrection’ is a shock to Colt when he finds out she has already rescued Mary Grace. Now, they both have to work together to get MG safely to Texas and then do damage control to make sure she stays safe and then… take care of the blackmailer threatening them…

This book kicks off a series about a group of best friends, who are more like family in Redemption Harbor, South Carolina. Colt and Skye are both CIA agents - and very much in a relationship together. So Skye's death devastates Colt on a massive level. Only - she didn't die. Skye faked her own death to protect Colt from a threat to all the people he loves and holds close. But when Skye helps to rescue Colt's best-friends wife, who is like a sister to Colt, he's not prepared to let her go.

This book is definitely the first of a series - and it is clear from the moment it starts that we are meeting a special group of people who all need some serious happily ever after action. But, the story itself is action packed and keeps you invested. You could definitely see where things were headed from the start though - with the skillsets of these guys!

Overall - I enjoyed it a lot - and am looking forward to diving in to the whole series.

I received this as an ARC of the re-release - but these opinions are all my own.

First off I simply love Katie Reus stories they never disappoint me. This was a quick read for me, Old lovers find each other again after one ( Sky) fakes her death. These two are very explosive together, loving, caring but very likable in so many ways. Its a great intro into the series and their are funny moments in the dialogue. You pretty much know how the story will play out but its still a good read and you get a somewhat feel for future stories.

Group of friends and they thought of them as family. A good beginning with twists of love and plenty of action. A woman who faked her death to protect a man she loved. Will be a great series as we meet the rest of this family

There aren’t words for how much I loved this book.

I found the main characters engaging and real, I adored the supporting characters (tell me there is a MG and Mercer story, even a short, somewhere for the love of god!!!), I found the storyline intriguing and I thought the whole thing was executed perfectly.

A wonderful mix of past and present the love story between Skye and Colt was developed quickly but over time, so no instalove here. After heartache and necessary betrayal, they come back together when Skye can’t let him be heart broken again when one of his best friends is kidnapped and held. There journey back to each other is beautiful and the whole book, whilst serving as a series introduction, just keeps delivering page after page of great writing.

I loved how the story didn’t just have the two voices either and the supporting characters got air time in here too, acting as strong support to the world the author is creating here but also enabling the reader to appreciate them as individuals too. This group of friends is going to be an interesting series I’m sure.

I am eager to read the rest of this series and find out where the story goes.

An honest arc given in exchange for a copy of the book. All thoughts and opinions expressed are my own

Action packed friends to lovers with a ton of suspense and emotion. Loved this book and the characters were great.

What do you do when the dead aren’t truly dead and gone? And you definitely don’t want them to end up that way. If you’re Colt, you do everything in your power to fix the heinous wrongs done. And if you’re Skye, you plan to save the world for a few folks. Maybe not the World-world, but the world to someone. She and Colt just have to make it through the minefield they’ve ended up in the middle of, then they can maybe finally have their forever together also.

I couldn’t be angry at Skye for her actions, nor could I be angry at Colt for his refusal to step aside once he came face to face with his heart. A heart that he’d thought would be lost to him forever. I even liked the subterfuge and the planning to set things right. Add in the multiple POVs that somehow worked to give the explanations needed in a unique fashion and I was definitely here for whatever came of this mess. While we may not have seen a movie HEA with the heroine being reinstated to former glory, maybe a chance to move on toward paying glory forward and saving others is even better. It sure worked for me!

I received an arc from NetGalley and this is my honest opinion.
This was a fast paced book with a lot of action happening. Skye faked her death to keep her partner and love of her life alive but when they meet up accidentally, Skye needs to come clean with why she faked her death.
Great read and great HEA ending.

RESURRECTION by Katie Reus (Redemption Harbor #1) is a great way to start a new series. Both CIA operatives Colt and Skye have quite a journey to their HEA. Skye fakes her death to save Colt...Colt travels to Mexico to rescue Mary Grace (Mercer's wife) who they think is dead. This is just the beginning...so much more to come...can Colt forgive Skye? Is Mary Grace rescued? Who is the real bad guy? I really enjoyed this book and can't wait for the next one. Is it Olivia and Valencia's story?
Reasons I enjoyed this book:
Action-packed Easy-to-read Entertaining Happily Ever After Page-turner Romantic Scary Tear-jerker Witty Wonderful characters

OMG, this book is so good!!!!!! I stayed up most of the night reading it! Skye faked her death, leaving the man in love with her, Colt, devastated. When she seeming comes back to life and Colt learns that she faked her death, he doesn't know whether to kiss her or kill her. What follows is a tightly woven novel with lots of twists and turns that kept me on the edge of my seat and flipping pages just as quickly as possible.

If you enjoy the genre, you will love this book. Put this one at the top of your TBR - better yet, snag it now and start reading - just don't plan on getting any sleep until you finish it. The author is on my must read authors' list.
