Who wouldn't love the chance to play detective? If you love a good murder mystery or true crime drama, chances are you will get a kick out of this book. Within it are dozens of cases, just waiting for you to solve the culprit. The cases are short and come in two levels of difficulties.. Clues are included and answers in the back in case you get really stuck. They're short enough that you can read a case over a cup of coffee and solve a bunch of them at once as entertainment on a long journey. The language is a little archaic but once you get used to the style of writing, you're good to go.

Thanks to the author, publisher and Netgalley for the opportunity to review an advanced copy of the book in exchange for an honest review.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for an ARC of this book prior to publication. I can honestly say that although I love true crime in any form, I'm not a huge "puzzle doer." It was a little outside of my wheelhouse to request this type of book, but I truly love getting to solve things so I figured that would convey to a book such as this and oh, it definitely did. This is a delightful, fun, brain-teasing compilation of puzzles that is a truly nice diversion of what is going on in the world. I enjoyed doing a puzzle or two a night to unwind and had a lot of fun in the process. I like using my critical thinking skills outside of employment or social settings, and this definitely fulfilled that. I would definitely recommend this book to others who have an interest in being an amateur detective and love true crime!

Are you a fan of detective stories? Do you think you can solve fictional crimes by your powers of deduction? This book will give you a chance to evaluate your skill at solving mysteries. Dedopulos has included 47 mysteries to solve, with 8 of them being a bit more difficult than the first 39. The solutions are included at the end of the book.

The puzzles are brief and include all the information needed to solve them. They aren’t especially difficult, but the reader does need to pay attention and think through the evidence. Each story has an illustration and one of 3 detectives working within. It pays to read through the puzzle two or three times.

I personally do better with visual puzzles, but I didn’t find these too difficult to solve once I knew how to discern meaningful from meaningless information. They weren’t especially intriguing, probably because the author was economic in his word use.

Three and a half stars for this detective puzzle book. This can stimulate your mind…if you’re patient and observant. My thanks to Arcturus Publishing via Netgalley.

I want to thank Netgalley and Arcturus Publishing for this ARC in exchange for an honest review!

The idea of having small cases and giving the reader the choice to guess the solution to the mystery is brilliant. I never saw a book like this. The mysteries are well crafted, perfect for fans of Agatha Christie.

I admit there were several mysteries I was at a loss. Maybe because of the language barrier, as English is not my native language, or maybe because I just suck as a detective. Nevertheless, it was very fun trying to solve these mysteries, rereading the case in search of clues and things that did not add up.

maybe its me and I am not smart enough for any of these? I felt these were very old cases so the language was too hard for me to understand. I didn't get any of the stories or clues and even when it gave the answer i went back and didnt get it.. so maybe this is for you but it wasnt for me

Oh my goodness this puzzle book is incredible. When I decided on this book, I thought that the puzzles were going to be a medium level of challenge but I was so wrong after doing the first couple of puzzles in the book and being stumped for sometime, I finally managed to get to the answers. I would definitely recommend this book to any puzzle lover. Can’t wait to see if there will be any other puzzle book by the author. Bravo.

This is the perfect book of mystery short stories for my husband and I to read together on the couch in the evening after putting the kids to bed. Each story only takes about five minutes to read, and the mysteries are clever but not too difficult. It's just tough enough that you can feel a small sense of accomplishment for getting it right. We had a fun time reading them out loud and doing different voices for the characters.

Who doesn’t love to solve a classic murder case? Tim Dedopulos’ “Whodunit Puzzles” offers 47 whodunits on two levels. The first is a collection of 39 short stories, just a couple of pages long with a hint of what to look at to solve the case. The rest are more complex and longer cases that come with more cues. Each puzzle features one of three investigators who are at the scene of crime and conduct the interviews with the suspects.

The puzzles are a great pastime activity that I thoroughly enjoyed. They are short, so you can just integrate one while waiting e.g. for the bus or at the doctor’s. They keep the mind busy as you have to read carefully not to miss the decisive hint. The setting of the stories just like the plots are quite varied and – just like the style of writing - reminded me of books of the Golden Age of Crime. The same is true for the three investigators. Illustrations here and there support the atmosphere of the puzzles.

The lower level puzzles are quite solvable, nevertheless, I didn’t get the right figure all the time, the upper level I found quite challenging. I liked the mysteries as I am a fan of classic crime novels.

I had no idea these kind of puzzle books were a thing. I can't believe I've been missing out! I've enjoyed these very much!! When I was reading the "rules" of how the puzzles were laid out, I was worried about flipping back and forth to answers on an ebook. Is it going to be difficult? Am I going to see all the answers at once and ruin the rest of the puzzles? I was VERY happy to find that at the end of each puzzle, there was a hyperlink that took me to that answer and only that answer. From there, there were two hyperlinks. I could go back to the previous puzzle (if you got it wrong and want to re-read) or I could go to the next puzzle. The puzzles and answers were laid out very efficiently. My only complaint was the hints. The "rules" said to try and solve the puzzle without the hint, but the hint is right there at the end of each story and it was next to impossible to avoid seeing them. I wish these had been set up the same way as answers. If I wanted to use the hint, I wish there was a hyperlink that I could click instead of it just being there. Overall though I really enjoyed this book. It's definitely something I would continue buying!!

Book was not on Storygraph. Will post on Amazon when available. Thank you!

I loved this book of whodunnit puzzles, each story is only three to five pages long so could be done in one sitting. Well reasoned good fun.

Pros: As a lover of puzzles, I was intrigued when I first saw this book because I didn’t know such a book or type of puzzle existed. I was pleasantly surprised at the number of puzzles in this book! Although these whodunnit puzzles can be solved by just one person, I think they would be more fun to try to solve with others on a team. This book would be great fun to take on a road trip or to read around the campfire as a group activity. I remember teachers giving us riddles in school, and I can see these puzzles being a fun school activity. I appreciated the ebook formatting of this book because it was easy to jump to the answer and then to jump back to where I was reading.

Cons: This is not a con but more of a note to readers in the USA that this is a British book so some of the terminology might be a bit different that American readers are used to.

Thank you to NetGalley and Arcturus Publishing for the opportunity to read this book.

What a entertaining book, I love puzzles so this was right up my street, each game was around 5-7 pages long and at the end you get a clue and answer. Who doesn't like to solve a crime, this kept me and my daughter who read along with me entertained. Some are harder than others and had my brain thinking and keeping active. Brilliant Idea!

Thank you to NetGalley for an ARC of Whodunit Puzzles.

I was so excited my request was approved since I love to read mysteries/thrillers.

This is a great book for anyone who enjoys short mysteries but allows you to play detective.

Each mystery is only a couple of pages long with a final clue at the end to guide you toward whodunit.

It requires the reader to pay attention as the facts of the case are outlined and note the clues and details offered in each short story.

This is a like a mystery Sudoku; you can read a handful of them, not having to remember previous storylines or names of characters, then go back to do whatever you were doing before and then return and read some more.

Very fun to read!

This book of Whodunit Puzzles is so much fun! Perfect for those who love brain teasers or classic murder mysteries, this book introduces a number of cases and detectives who help introduce the facts and suspects. These are relatively tricky, though I will say with the right knowledge and mindset you should be able to solve the cases! All the info is there!
Many thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the advance copy.

The Whodunit Puzzles by Tim Dedopulos is an intriguing book. I found the short stories to be interesting and well written. Each story is a 'whodunit' that you have to solve. There is a small hint at the end of every story and a link to the answer.
The stories are interesting and provide the clues to the mystery. Paying close attention to detail is the key here! Overall, a great book!
Thank you to NetGalley, the publisher, and author for an advance copy of this book. All opinions are my own.

I thought this was a very solid puzzle book. The illustrations were also lovely. All of these puzzles were varying levels of difficulty. They offered a challenge without being impossible to figure out. I even thought the little dialogue between the characters was pretty cute. I would buy this as a gift for someone looking to keep their mind sharp and am very satisfied.
